  1. If you let your eyes see only the black squares, it's almost like there's a hidden message written in it...

  3. Yes, that little rear wheel "brake cooling duct" is so dumb. And the sideways Ventiports... stoopid!
  4. Ow, Raven, that's so uncool. Looks like a bumper cover R&I and repair, maybe a cracked fender liner or splash shield, and repair and refinish rocker panel. (Sorry to use your family's car for practice, gotta get back in the swing of things, going back to work tomorrow.)

    I'm so smrt!

Well, made it home. Work tomorrow. Had a lot of compliments and questions about my camping rig, truck and tent. I got the tent up, sprayed with silicone seam sealer and covered with the rain fly with just a bit of time to spare, it did rain Thursday afternoon/evening, and was cool in the Poconos Mountains each night. Sunny and nice the rest of the time. It was good being off the ground.
  6. It'd be cool to find a proper fender. There are companies that make those rubber bumper fillers, the sun really breaks those down. The silver detailing on the taillight lenses can easily be painted back on, it would really spiff them up. Surface rust on underhood components, could that indicate long stints in a humid, cool garage, causing lots of condensation? Makes me think it was driven only short distances, preventing air circulation and underhood heat which would have maybe kept it more dry under there. She's a sweet old gal, she'll be nice to cruise around in. B-bodies are just effortless drivers, made for this big ol' country of ours, and nothing could top them.
  7. Hey Moltie, hope it's a good one, sir.
  8. Oh Viper... a flashing Check Engine light is not good. A steady light means something should be checked, a flashing light means shut the car down immediately and do not drive it any further. I would call the closest Mazda dealership service department regarding your OBD setup, see if they'd be willing to answer the question of which reader you need and where to plug it in, and is there anything in the owner's manual that could help someone diagnose it for you? Do any of the underhood labels, the emissions label perhaps, say anything about "OBDII certified"?

  10. Whoa, nice thread, Vipes. It looks like a good time was had by all. The first pic reminds me of the movie "Waiting for Guffman", hehe.
  11. I think the winner's heirs live pretty far from Oklahoma... is it Virginia?

Thanks peeps. I leave at noon, so you won't have ocn to kick around anymore (well, until Sunday evening, ha). reg, you big stud :AH-HA_wink: . Custom-S, that's not "french bread". Vipes, did you party with your new boy? God, I hope the rain is over.

    Pictures!

    It is so endoscopy equipment!
  14. Well, this is certainly a Myer shift from the last time you spoke on this subject. Best of luck to you, sir, on restoring your friendship and passing a milestone.

Well thanks usonia. It is storming tonight, I hope it's overwith by morning. Nothing worse than setting up a tent in the rain.
  16. I agree with everything bostonspider said. This is the size RWD car Pontiac needs toward the bottom of the lineup, priced just a tick above the Solstice.

    Thanks, I'll try.
  19. Yeah, I know Delta, but besides the bucket seats and that CB, it really is an "old lady special". It just seems like some sort of mistake, the way the car is optioned out.

Custom-S: Lord. :AH-HA_wink: Delta, I have a BedRug bedliner in the truck, foam-backed with an indoor-outdoor carpet type surface, so it's fine. Plus I have an air mattress to stick in there if I need it.

Ok, you guys wanna see my tent? I thought you might. Here it is with the rainFly attached, it has two nice side windows and a canopy out the back you can set up on poles.

    I'm so smrt!

Yeah so, I'm on vacation this week. I leave to go camping tomorrow and I bought a new tent that sets up in the truck bed. It got here fast, I ordered it Friday and it came on Saturday. So I put the truck in the backyard, took off the tonneau and did a test set-up. All the hype on the box said "20 minute setup!" Yahright. An hour later and I finally got the thing erected. The tent is made by a Canadian manufacturer, so the instructions were written in English... with a French accent. Oui? Non. Anyway... ha, I hope to look less like a retodd tomorrow at the campground setting this thing up.
  23. I hope the Wrangler's success speaks loud and clear to Jeep's product planners. This is what people want out of Jeep! I'd also guess that the 4 door Wrangler is the reason for the Liberty's slump, which itself was a pale replacement for the Cherokee. The few Compass/Patriots being sold are probably being bought by first-time Jeep buyers, I can't see a repeat customer stepping down to those crappy twins.
  24. A chick I dated in the early 90's had a diesel Rabbit with 300,000-plus miles on it and it still ran good. The interior was always dirty, she had horses and hauled hay in the back of it. These things are great. A new diesel Rabbit or Jetta would be a very smart buy, imo.
  25. Very nice pics of some very sweet vehicles, GMTG74 and ChevyGuy. That blue circa '81 Grand Prix is a clean, simple stunner, I'd love to have that. It's much nicer than the one I had from '81-'83. I'm sorry we missed you, sir, and ChevyGuy, and anyone else who was there from C&G. We stopped by the Saturn display, it was good to see that. We saw the line of Cobalts, didn't realize one of them was yours, ChevyGuy. Congrats on the win!
