The lighting may be "dramatic", but it is totally unnatural. This car will never been seen this way outside of these photographs.

Yeah, I'm just bustin' on the kid. I'm happy for him, actually. He was so desperate for a new vehicle... he took a day off work because he was a "finalist" in a radio contest to win a VW Touareg (sp?). He went all the way down to Philadelphia, but his "key" didn't work. The guy behind him in line won.

I am going to say... the lighting in these pictures is absolutely horrible. It does not flatter the car at all. Hopefully better photographs will circulate soon, followed by the ultimate barometer... real life.

So OK, my neighbor (20-something with a wife and kid) comes running over and slams my doorbell. "Dude! Come look at my new car!" Poor kid's been trying to get out of an '88 Festiva he's been driving since his ZX2 engine died, which is fine... but he got... a...Scion xB. Dark blue. I mean, at least it's not one of those "special" colors, but omg. He told me to jump in, we took a ride around the block. I was hanging on to the "oh $h!" handle the whole time. He's happier 'n a hog in $h!. I'm kinda sad. You know that old joke about the kid on Christmas morning, throwing the toy aside while playing with the box? :AH-HA_wink:

The way old people drive around here, I'm not sure those puny little Pep Boys bumper rub strips are big enough. They need a battering ram, like a police cruiser. Oh, and the side mirrors always somehow extend themselves and get knocked off by the garage when backing out or pulling in, not sure what to do about that.

usonia, you and I have some of the same concerns. I am in that rut. Yesterday I plodded through with my eyes half closed, I didn't even go to the gym, I just felt... blah, bored to tears, basically. I see my plant beds need a spring spruce-up, and that'll be good for me, but I just don't feel like doing it... it would be great to have someone to help with that. Next Saturday is "Volunteer Spring Cleanup" day up at the campground, I might go if the weather is decent. That'll be a break in the slog. I have allowed a person to put my life on hold, and I really need for something to happen there, good or bad. This holding pattern is numbing.
