  1. Well, I'm sure it has an exhaust pipe just begging for... uh, nevermind. In the world of angry cars, that Buick is the most beautifully angry. The '03-'06 Chevy pickup... the least, imo.
  2. I've changed vehicles a lot so far in my life. The longest I've ever kept a new vehicle... 4.5 years and 125k miles... the shortest... 4 months I believe.
  3. Aw... Fifty9, she's a real American Beauty! Many congratulations on bringing her home, sir.

  5. Well, it is definitely louder inside the cab than the factory system at highway speeds, and you can tell the timbre difference when it goes into 4 cylinder mode. Overall, it is not intrusive, really. I am happy. It is wet here today, I think that may be just reflection off the lights in there. I haven't done anything with the grille.
  6. I like this. The name doesn't fit though. The look is pure americana, but the name is science fiction... doesn't fit.
  7. Really? Where would you prefer he put his tongue, then?
  8. Today at the exhaust shop, I was standing there watching the guys do their thing, when an old farmer walked up to me and struck up a conversation: "Is this your truck?" "Yup." "You didn't get a Toyota?" "NO! I hate those things!" "Did you see where Toyota is rolling over GM, Ford and Chrysler?" "Yup." "Why do you think that is? I just don't understand that." "It's the media, putting ideas in people's heads. It's not real experience. I've always had good luck with my GM trucks." "Yeah, the media's putting on a big show, trying to put the American companies down. We had one (a Toyota truck) on the farm back in the 80's, and that was enough. It was a good little truck, but it wasn't that great." "I will always buy GM trucks." "That's all we have on the farm, we like them pretty good. That's all we'll buy too. 'Course, ya can't tell by looking at them, they're always dirty." "That's alright, I live in town, that's why mine is so clean." GM could not have made a better commercial. What a memorable conversation. It made me extremely proud to own the right truck.
  9. Mr. Jacket, everything sounds good to me... except...I think I'd get those cool, stainless "Speed Grilles" that snap into your current grille. Have you seen those?
  10. Chris, how can you resist that? That took a lot of effort. I think Harry is sincere. Give him a chance to stick his tongue in your ear, come on, be a good sport! :AH-HA_wink:
  11. I'll try to come up. When is Spring Carlisle this year?
  12. PIPES! I took second half of the day off work today to go and get my exhaust done, at the local shop I was telling you guys about. I had to decide between Magnaflow and Flowmaster for the muffler (single inlet/dual outlet). The guys at Red Run Exhaust were really cool, they hung each muffler and let me listen to make a decision. The Flowmaster was louder, and it has a ten year warranty. The Magnaflow has a limited lifetime warranty. I chose the Flowmaster. Pics: being hung: adios, factory exhaust: on the lift: Oh man, it sounds really good. I asked the guys if they could take my radio out, since I won't be listening to it anymore. :AH-HA_wink: I wish you guys could hear it! It's a full stainless system, including the muffler, for $399. The pipes are mandrel bent in-house at the shop. The guys were quick and professional.
  13. I guess he really, really missed his dad and wanted to be close to him again.
  14. Grandma (my grandmother used to make the most spectacular tapioca pudding ever)
  15. I would have to go to the emergency room like a guy who took too much Viagra if the new G8 evolved the look of the GP GXP instead of going square, blocky and boring from the windshield back. I'm sure you'll enjoy this hot car, Custom-S, and I'm pretty sure Viper will love you long time when he sees it.
  16. Aww SNAP!!! A trio of evil munchkins! These are sweet as hell. Seeing them all together like this, I like the Groove, Beat, and Trax, in that order.
  17. First thing that came to mind... we have a smiley that looks just like this new Liberty: I like that canvas roof, one of the great things about the Wrangler is its open-air freedom, and this seems a good compromise to try to spread that attitude. The interior has lost its class, at least at first blush. I've been a fan of the Liberty's interior up to now, I'll have to see it in person. Shameful that the 4.0L is not on the options list so far... and that diesel needs to come back to the USA. While some of the special editions of the Liberty have been borderline tacky, I thought the Renegade without the roof lightbar was sort of cool. Maybe a year or two into this redesign we'll see something like that again. The only color that matters... how does it look in green?
  18. I am interested in knowing if an Astra Redline is in the works, and on a totally opposite tack, if they are closer to making a decision on bringing the diesel engine we've read about here to the US in the Astra.
  19. Mr. Dart, one word: :AH-HA_wink:

  21. Amazing.
  22. I am more than happy to accept their brilliant RWD engineering. The VE is turning out to be quite the triumphant platform, and if they can give us a smaller RWD platform for Pontiac and any other miscellaneous GM brand... I will gladly take it. Just don't let them style the US versions... please.
  23. I was hopeful for the sedan... but I just saw pictures of it at Autoweek, and even there, under natural lighting conditions... bleh... they also have pics of the base model. And I guess the handy little wagon is being replaced by this hatchback. Stupid move... Subaru built its presence in the USA on ingenious little AWD wagons, and look that them now.
  24. I saw those brake ducts and thought the same thing, Decka. Also, I don't like the wheels. Other than that, not bad... but I think I prefer the Harley-Davidson special edition a bit better.
