  1. He who hesitates is lost, Roger.
  2. Hopefully, I did it right. That site sure tries to hide any way to comment - I eventually clicked on the little "return" icon by one of the earlier posts in order to leave a comment. And yeah, I'm expecting all of C&G to do the same!
  3. Hey Balthy, I think I know why you live in Jersey - such great hunting grounds for vintage stuff.
  4. Roger, I'd buy this thing in a heartbeat if I had the cash laying around. Body mounts are a common issue with these and all parts are available. It would not be too expensive to get the job done either. And, you could buy this and immediately list it on ebay without spending a dime and turn a profit.
  5. Could be. But I suspect that this was a factory two-tone truck. Either way, a screaming bargain at $1,500 obo.
  6. Phantom , not clone.
  7. It was "the thing to do" at one time. This exact model was my uncle's hotrod in the sixties, including the missing bumper. I remember him talking about how the local cops used to hassle him about it. I forwarded the listing to him - he wishes he could trade the '64 Mustang he just finished for this car!
  8. I usually gloss right over the fullsizers and go straight to trucks, so something like this catches my eye. I'm pretty much a midsize car guy.

  10. You Just Don't Find Them Like This Anymore If a '55 Chevy is your project of choice, this is the best one to start with that I have ever seen. You would have been hard-pressed to find one this unmolested and original in the mid-seventies, let alone today. It's worth every penny of the asking price. 13. Hmmm... It may me a minor measure of both things that I have recently been hearing about the flooding/planned levee destruction and the New Madrid fault when I had never heard of them before. Sounds like there is more to the story on both.
  14. When I was a kid, a neighbor had one. It was a bright yellow stepside shortbed with mag wheels. I think it got a V8 transplant somewhere along the way...
  15. Hmmm... While some EVs may be impressive in one fashion or another (Volt/Tesla), none hit the sweet spot for me as cars. The Tesla costs too much, has so-so styling, and little everyday usefulness. The Volt, like any "4-door family hatchback", holds no interest for me beyond its curiosity factor. I might admire the tech, but I don't love the cars. I am all for those who do love them having them available, however. Oh I wasn't implying the cars themselves would be of any interest to you... but if the El Camino were released with only the Voltec powertrain (appropriately sized of course) I could see you still waiting in line for one and actually coming to like it. Maybe. The devil would be in the details. And, it would have to be damned impressive in all respects.
  16. I wholeheartedly agree with this!

  18. Inane thinking by the cheif of an unimportant site. Dismiss with extreme prejudice.
  19. Although this comes nearly a decade late, I am overjoyed to hear the news. No matter where we go from here, OBL needed killing in the worst way. I'm glad that he is fish food.
  20. I'd love to do one of my projects as a dedicated CNG conversion.
  21. No EVs for me, lottery or otherwise. Now alt-fueled ICEs are another story...
  22. Took a drive in the '38 Dodge yesterday just for fun. I'm not one to waste a good apex, but that's not what that car is all about. I did end up under the hood later which wasn't planned (and therefore not much fun), but I don't regret the drive. Most of the cars I've owned were fun in one way or another. Some were daily drivers and some were not - the best of them were fun any time I drove them.
