  1. Just spotted a real oddball - a Citation X-S. Not an X-11, an X-S. Same weird coupe/hatchback bodystyle, factory fade stripes at the door bottoms, white with a dark accent color down low, a factory cowl-style hood. Can't say I've ever seen one before. It was also the roughest car I've seen on the road in at least a decade.
  2. The only good-looking motorhome ever built. Probably the only one a stylist ever worked on. I guess that is why they are considered to be classics and hold their value today.
  3. Wow, that certainly isn't one of Ford's "better ideas". It makes me like your solution all the more, DF. Complexity for its own sake is really a stupid thing to do. What were they thinking?
  4. That fix should work fine, but I'm guessing that you lost a tensioning rod that would have done the same thing by hooking one end over the cable, and the other into a hole in the frame. That's the setup I'm used to anyway.
  5. Hemmings is probably a good idea, I guess I'm still weighing the options.
  6. The decision has been made, the '38 Dodge will be going up for sale. I have to decide when, where, and how to get it sold. Suggestions welcome.
  7. Must be spring, all of the toys are coming out. Few days ago I saw an XLR-V, a BMW Z8, and a Zo6 all in the space of five minutes. The very next day I saw a new ZR-1 in "engine cover Blue". Very cool, but very dirty.
  8. What an unexpected end to this saga! Congrats on the Challenger - I'm a bit jealous.
  9. Fired-up the wagon for the first time since the start of Winter - makes me want to start daily driving it again.
  10. That Falcon Ranchero does catch the eye... ...and I want to punch the guy that ruined the '65 Camino.
  11. That list would be so long.... I think I did this here once, but there have been more since then. Maybe I'll give it a shot again later.
  12. Happy birthday, Walt!
  13. Too bad it's an automatic. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/430HP-LS3-Corvette-V8-Pontiac-Solstice-AUTOMATIC-Coupe-/250804697956?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item3a651ffb64
  14. You never know...
  15. Pics and description may be a bit weak, but if I had cash laying around, I would already have gone to check it out. I get a good vibe from this one.
  16. The value these cars hold amazes me. Nearly $8,500 now for a car without a drivetrain that's also been wrecked pretty hard. Makes me wish that I had a barnful of them.

  19. This is one of the racecars I've been working on. It got wrecked late last season, and we aren't going to fix it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1954-Austin-Healey-100-4-RHD-BN1-Racecar-/230606593017?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item35b1395bf9
  20. Yeah, I've done the hat thing since high school. Sadly, it looks like the Dodge will be going on the block soon. I'll post details when it happens.
  21. Badass.
  22. If you look closely I'm wearing a mac. Thanks for all of the comments, guys.
  23. My sister posted this on facebook. It is me, my dad, and my sister returning from a cruise in the '38. Thought I'd share.
  24. If the Tahoe quit, I'd be back in the wagon as a daily for a while. I hope to have the Mothertruck back together before too long so I can begin to pare down the fleet a bit. If I were in a pinch, I'd scrounge CL for another killer find at a low cost. I'm pretty good at finding interesting stuff on the cheap.
