  1. These are fun, but I'd shoot for a '98 and up instead. The LS1 is just that good.
  2. I think Chrysler really gets it - this truck is a very nice package for the money.
  3. Exactly. Leverage the legacy.
  4. Nope, never did. Thanks for the link (it sure looks like those are the wheels I have). I'm still hoping to find some Chevy center caps that fit. I have a feeling that late 70s Vette caps might work.
  5. The problem with most performance cars today is that they rely upon the legendary status they earned long ago. They need to be out there earning new victories and devotees. The cars themselves are the best that they have ever been, but they need to leverage their huge fan bases by making news today at races and events.
  6. I think the Subaru WRX is the hyperactive car for the Red Bull set... Not if this strategy was put in place...
  7. And... this is something you'd want to market to extremophiles that grew up with video games, snowboarding, skydiving, rock climbing, while slugging-down Red Bull. Done well, it could be a genuine halo for the Corvette brand while building -in a lower demographic.
  8. That's just the point: price would not be what drives the interest. Of course, it couldn't hurt if the Corvette undercut the Porsche and BMW analogs in typical Vette fashion.
  9. I really like where you are going with this recipe. However. I'm not so sure that the goal can be reached via a lower price. That, and steel wheels are a non-starter on a Vette. So. What if lowering the demographic wasn't dependent on lower pricing? Take your stripped-down, fixed-roof Corvette and build a track day series around it. Require racing school as a standard RPO and sponsor events across the country. Fun is as much of a draw as a good bargain. It would be expensive, but I think it could work.
  10. Pretty cool. I like how the dog pre-runs the course for him. I'm reminded of some of the things I did with my '66 Dodge wagon...
  11. I have a few notions, but I want to think them over a bit more.
  12. Do it! A 4.3 V6 car might be just the ticket for you if you can find one. Kinda rare, but having an injected powerplant might make make life easier for you. I think they only built them in '86 and '87.
  13. Amazing. You were very lucky, BV.
  14. I'd call this one highly umlikely.
  15. Gah! Way too many things to do on way too many projects! First up will be getting the Vette running and evaluating its future. By the end of the year I want to have the Mothertruck back on the road so I can dump the ROPOS. Anything beyond those two items will be a bonus.
  16. Won't hear me complaining if my namesake hits the showrooms!
  17. Sure it can. Marketing is all about perception. Spin this right, and it could lay claim to both advanced design and heritage all at once. But first they have to make it real.
  18. True. But you of all people must understand the tack I implied with my comment. The marketing angle, if you will.
  19. You know, the notion of a "factory lightweight" in 2012-2014 has a certain appeal.
  20. Here's to a fast recovery.
  21. Happy birthday, Ocn!
  22. There are a bunch of differences, but the main one is the interface of fender to nose cap.
  23. Snow is accumulating as I type this.
  24. Seeing how much the Opel Omega and the Commodore shared back then, I think that concept actually BECAME the Catera By the time Holden was done, the two cars shared very little (thankfuly).
