  1. Ah, so it's a Cobalt is it?
  2. A fine mess you've gotten us in, Wall St.
  3. Well if the G8 is around until 2014 or 2016, as some suggest, it won't really be all that early afterall. The real crime will be the wasted potential of Zeta - for me, the most appealing platform since the '64-'77 A bodies.
  4. Ford is fast becoming GM's best friend. ...and earning points with me as well.
  5. We don't need to do anything. But we probably should tell GM what we think and what we want. It's up to them to get it right. And I have to disagree about setting trends, either GM finds a way to do that - or it's all over.
  6. There are lessons to be learned here, yet a petulant GM refuses to heed them.
  7. Be that as it may, it still matters.
  8. Seriously considered that move myself.
  9. I love how this car is defying the arsenal thrown at it from all corners. Including from within.
  10. Simple. Alpha is not a natural for Buick, and it is for a Pontiac. I don't see that as being negative toward Buick, I simply see it as using logic.
  11. Actually, I think now would be the time to speak up. If it's not already too late, that is. The alleged plans for this platform make little sense as has been pointed out in this thread. Alpha could really be something great - if done right. And done right means not wasting it on Buick.
  12. My Dad used to get it and I have some of the old issues - good stuff in there. Subscriptions are not in the current budget, but I'd buy this one if they were.
  13. A high school buddy of mine had a '70 in yellow with a black top and a 383 4spd. It was a very sharp looking car, but soooo long! The last I heard of it, the kid he sold it too (we called him Flail) had it in pieces in his parents garage. I have this ugly feeling that the car never got put back together.
  14. Ya know, there's this car I've been hoping to catch a pic of for at least two years to show you guys. Of course I never see it when the camera is in the truck. You won't believe it when you see it. I never have seen it parked, so its a tough catch. But wish me luck because it's a sight not soon forgotten.
  15. :rotflmao:
  16. Great to see so much detailed info on a somewhat obscure model! Nice job guys.
  17. It would be an absolute sin to crush that car. I hope it really has been saved.
  18. Because they need a brand for the Buick fans to go to when they cancel the car by killing off BPG in a cost-cutting move in 2013. Don't be stupid GM, give Alpha to Pontiac.
  19. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but with your track record of negative ownership experiences, I'd advise that you go with vehicle "A". Of course I completely understand not doing so. :AH-HA_wink:
  20. Lucky for you BV, I have the answer. PA doesn't look for a notarized signature, just a signed title. Remember that parts Camino? It came from Z's part of NY, and all I needed was the signed NY title to title it in PA.
  21. OK: Further breakdown: 1953-1956 A/H 100-4 about 14,662 built. This includes several iterations and one very special model (the 100-S). About 50 were built and today each is worth around 500k. 1956-1959 A/H 100-6 about 14,436 built. Based on the 100-4, this car intro'd the 6-cylinder engine and a longer wheelbase among other changes. 1959-1968 A/H 3000 Marks I,II, and III 42,916 built. This one is probably best known among non-Healey folks. Exactly one car was built in '68. That's it for the "Big" Healeys, a total of around 72,014 built. The overwhelming majority came here to the US. The cars have major racing history. Then there is the A/H Sprite. That car was built iin a number of iterations as well from 1958-1971, when it morphed into the MG Midget. The two cars were identical and about 125,000 of them wore A/H badges. In mid 1971, the A/H badge was retired but the Midget continued on. There were also Pre-Austin cars from Healey with names like Silverstone, and Alvis, and Nash-Healey as well as the post-Austin Jensen - Healey. Tons more to know on these if anyone is into that sort of car.
  22. Shawshank = pure genius
  23. Several problems actually. My TV periodically fuzzes out into static and snow and/or pixellation and silence. But I'm not too bent out of shape about that as it doesn't happen all of the time. What really burns me up is the new "Spam Detector" that scans all of my outgoing e-mails and randomly decides that a given message is spam and therefore they block it! Complete BS. I send maybe 10-20 emails per week on average. And get this, they want me to submit any blocked e-mails at some special site of theirs so that they can fine tune their damn "detector". Rotten bastards, that's their job not mine!
  24. Amen!
  25. Very cool bit of history on the two cars.
