  1. Except that Saturn was about ten years too late, insanely over budget, and the cars could have been built within an existing division at a fraction of the cost. Arguably, they have the best product they have ever had - but without a focus.
  2. If only Saturn and Oldsmobile could have exchanged fates.
  3. Philly has some very rough edges, but it also has depth and history.
  4. True. So where does Saturn go now? I'm sure you have some ideas about that.
  5. The feds have also become increasingly arrogant and out of touch. They have pushed things closer to an unpleasant edge, and seem blind enough to push too far in the near future.
  6. Good question. Even better, where does that leave Saturn? And what is Saturn's mission? Saturn has some nice product now, but remains ill-defined.
  7. I agree - to a point. I'd rather see the Malibu as it is, the G6 on Alpha, and the Aura more differentiated from Malibu in some basic way (platform, drivetrain etc.) That's why I like the "Family" approach as in what is being done with the G8. Different bodystyles of the same nameplate at the same brand rather than 3 brands getting what amounts to the same car. It just makes sense for building the identities of the brands, keeping them differentiated, and saving on costs while broadening the appeal of each nameplate. I believe that this strategy could go a long way toward solving these issues.
  8. Hurry up man! We've got a show to see! J/K You are making great progress. Are you going to bother with the paint and details like the woodgrain before putting this baby back on the road?
  9. The cars are hitting the dealers right now, you can avoid ADM if you search. If you want a V6, ADM shouldn't be a problem at all.
  10. Product evaluation, sure that's it. :AH-HA_wink:
  11. Just more excuses to attempt to justify collosal greed.
  12. Moving the headquarters out of the US would simply be an obscenity.
  13. Actually mine is rather skinny, but that doesn't indict the population in the way I intended.
  14. Close enough. And a guilty pleasure to boot.
  15. Liar! We know your secret. :AH-HA_wink:
  16. Access to guns isn't a problem for me, FOG. The thing is, I still believe all of that can be avoided (if we get off of our fat, lazy asses and do something about it).
  17. Ah, now I can see it. I'd go for a G8 instead, but that's just me.
  18. You want to drive a red X ?
  19. Agreed, but I believe that the regs still call for that marker light as far up toward the front as possible, either as a separate light or part of the headlight cluster. Otherwise, I don't think you'd see them on a Solstice. I'd just like to find out what the rules are exactly.
  20. Though they haven't been used as such for years, they used to be part of the design in a harmonious, even artful way. But, sadly, the automakers have been lazy about it for far too long. These days they are barely integrated, low-budget, boring, compliance devices. Sad.
  21. My computer doesn't currently have sound, but TTAC is the rubbish heap of auto journalism so I guess I don't have to hear the words to know it will be pure BS.
