  1. You are playing my tune with this part of your post. Like my Dad used to say, our "leaders" are "worrying about $h! that ain't even $h!" With all of the real problems facing us, wasting time taking asinine positions like this woman has is tantamount to professional malpractice.
  2. Thanks for the effort PCS. So far this is as close as it gets to the answer I'm hunting: At front - symmetrical - as far forward as practicable - facing sideward Vague at best (and for trucks, not cars). I seem to recall a Sq. inch requirement...
  3. Agreed 100% Such a move would be tantamount to admitting not only is GM second class but that the US is as well. This isn't true and would piss me off beyond reason.
  4. What are the US regulations regarding the size and placement of marker lights? Many Euro cars have front side markers high and to the rear of the front fenders, do they have to add something in the front to meet regs? I'm wondering how flexible the design parameters can be for these lights in the US market.
  5. No way the market could support this, no matter how good the car might be.
  6. The problem isn't the number of brands nor the direction GM is going with the consolidation into fewer dealerships and sales channels. The real problem is the wishy-washy execution of these plans and all of the second guessing. The game plan is sound - they just need to implement it faster, and with full commitment.
  7. Backward idiot.
  8. The Vibe is disgusting, but not as disgusting as the arrangement that makes it possible. Both should go away ASAP.
  9. This is a great project. And what an awesome deal at $750!
  10. Why does all of this stuff make me think of the decline of Rome?
  11. At 43, a lifelong friend of mine has just recently become a Dad for the second time. He called me the other day to discuss this very issue. His much younger (and gorgeous) wife has been pushing a bit for another child, and he wanted to talk. I told him all of the things that he needed to anticipate if they were to do this, and I really can't say how much our discussion will influence their decision. Financially they can handle it, but the strain emotionally and the time-limiting effect of having a kid in High School when he is in his 60s worries him. I have all but completely ruled out the idea of kids in my life since I never really wanted to be a father, and at 44 it would be extremely difficult to make such a commitment.
  12. Fool.
  13. Love the intentional misspelling. I daily lose more respect for what the feds stand for and demand of us all. I'm sure that I'm not alone in disregarding more and more of what they insist upon. Every day respect for federal authority diminishes, they had better wise-up before a majority ignores their authority.
  14. Never. For one thing, I need my truck to make a living. For another, I'll start brewing my own fuel before I reduce myself to 4cyl. microcar junk.
  15. Hopefully, those doing the looking don't have the same failure mentality that SMK does - or GM is in deep trouble. If any brands are killed now, GM is doomed.
  16. You assume all sorts of things in this post without any facts to back-up your assertions. Everything you have written above is just foolishness.
  17. Thanks, I'll give it a try tomorrow. It really is time for me to get a few winks before I have to get up. Damned car addiction.
  18. Better not be.
  19. Ick! What are those?
  20. God I hope not! That's not in the budget. Seems ok now.
  21. And for some reason I remember all of those, but not this one. If it were an obscure Caddy or BOP V8 I wouldn't feel so bad about it, but for me to miss a Chevy V8 is bizarre.
  22. Still, I don't think I've ever missed the entire existence of any GM V8 before. Even the lame ones. I'm embarassed.
