  1. Hope the cops catch the SOB.
  2. The 3.73s are just as durable (standard with a D-max) . It is just the ratio that changes. Engine, trans, and gear ratio combined are what really matters. Each configuration has advantages, the key is to match the equiptment to the need. Oh, and the locking rear is worth the money (just be prepared to change the gear oil fairly often to keep it working smoothly).
  3. Seems a bit of a challenge to the Saab's suspension. On the Nova bumpers: agreed, except I kinda like the taillights on the '73/'74s.
  4. See my reply to this post in the tech section.
  5. I don't want either.
  6. I'm not sure that AFM is available on HDs, but if it isn't I would stay away from the 6.0. Don't get me wrong , it is a great engine - but it's a thirsty beast. I had one in my '01 HD and it convinced me to go with the Duramax for my '05. It was that or the 8.1 gas engine (which actually gets better fuel economy than the 6.0). I don't think you can still get the 8.1, but I would take it over the 6.0 any day. The D-max with the Allison trans easily tops them both (at a premium), but diesel is very high right now so factor that in as well. As for the rear gearing, you need the 4.10 if you intend to do heavy towing - but you will pay dearly at the pump. Let your usage be the deciding factor. I'm guessing that since you are working out of a Yukon now, you don't really need the extra grunt. Any 2500HD will be far more capable than the Yukon when it comes to contracting. If you go with the 6.0 with the 4.10, just be sure that the truck is earning money every time you drive it - or the fuel cost will shock you. I loved my 6.0 4.10 HD, but feeding it was an ordeal. Even with the purchase premium and the recent increase in diesel pricing, I am far happier using the D-max as a work truck. Hope that helps. And welcome to C&G.
  7. Yup! Hatchback coupes are very useful cars.
  8. I hate to hear about just about any musician dying young. Couldn't stand the hair band thing, but still.
  9. F'ing fantastic post! Well done!
  10. The timing seems about right for a decision on the Ute and Sportwagon.
  11. Hardly. The As are my favorite cars of all time, but the Zetas are their spiritual successors. I love them both.
  12. I'd say giving the Mazda what it needs and unloading it would be a good choice. Then keep the Cutlass going as best you can for a while as you save some cash. Combine that with a loan in say, 6 months, and you should be able to get something pretty nice.
  13. This sort of thing needs to be eliminated with extreme prejudice wherever its ugly face is shown.
  14. For the umpteenth time, I say it again: The Tundra is a stinker. Toyota simply can't build a good full-size truck, they don't get it.
  15. Actually, a whole horde of Chevys from the 60s and 70s want their taillights back. :AH-HA_wink: The black car in the second pic has taillights that are a dead ringer for a '73 Chevelle. Why did Nissan make this thing so goofy to look at? I'm all for another powerful coupe being in the world, but this car is so gaudy and without any design cohesion.
  16. Looks great, Schuby!
  17. One of the best looking FWD GM cars, and it's all in the details. The regular LeSabre was dumpy.
  18. They have DRLs.
  19. Amen! And, Uh, ... Ahem! http://www.cheersandgears.com/underground/ Better shortcut: http://www.cheersandgears.com/underground/chevelle/home.htm
  20. And sell the cars you don't want to keep.
  21. And BV, my advice to you is pick one of the cars and make it right. Then unload the others.
  22. Ditto the two previous posts.
  23. That's why I love Holden and Zeta. They have the potential to even outdo the '68-'72 A bodies because Zeta is so flexible and can be AWD.
