  1. Congress forces draconic new fuel economy standards on the OEMS and all v8 and v6 powered performance cars are forced from the market. A special permit is required to buy a v8 in a truck and all cars and trucks are forced to become hybrids. Now what do you do? Myself, I'll be buying all the old v8s I can get my hands on. I will never buy a new car again. And I'll buy a gun. Not joking. at all.
  2. Yes, yes they would... I still love those CV8-R wheels ( as if my sig didn't indicate that already)
  3. The GM display alone is usually worth the trip, everything from old concepts to VERY early Olsmobiles , to factory lightweight racecars and more have been at this show in the past. There will be a TON of Camaros as there is a huge contingent of F-body clubs in attendence. But, 50's cars are plentiful as well and a good mix of all of the years of GM. This is a great show.
  4. I believe that has been confirmed, but I'd have to check.

Man, I hated the 80s especially the music 60s,70s,90s,2000s all are better than the 80s.
  6. Let's just say that it is more focused. :AH-HA_wink: And, GM opens the toybox for it every time. I may try to find out what GM is sending to the show.
  7. Could be a long process. Not sure if that's good or bad.
  8. Let me guess, the new supplier is in China?
  9. I love mine. In fact, it is one of the best engines I've ever had - in anything. Way to go GM!

  11. One less waste of oxygen in the world. Good riddance ,scumbag.
  12. Charger is sooo ugly that I wouldn't put it in the same category. Oh well, to each his own. Still hate the tails on the G8 as well as the name, but I find it hands down more attractive than Charger.
  13. I can add a little Firehawk info here, 100% of the 25 production 91/92 firehawks still exist and 50% of the 91/92 Firehawk racecars still exist ( only two were built and one was destroyed).
  14. Good to hear! Congrats to your family.
  15. Any GM dealer should be able to order the engine, but you should hunt around for pricing as it varies widely.
  16. Also a nice way to show how many Camrys are haunting the rental lots.
  17. Wise decision, 98. And if it is a GM engine, you will also have a warranty.
  18. We need to charter a freighter...
  19. Those boys really like to play! I'd love to see that Ute.
  20. Well, its a moot point anyway since the large Chevy Zeta coupe isn't going to happen now.
  21. I'd have to agree with Balthazar on this. I don't think that you can find any accurate numbers beyond the highly collectible models though, everything will be an estimate.
  22. OUCH! I've never seen anything like that.
  23. Were I in the market for a sedan, the G8 would be the only contender and I wouldn't even look at BMW. For me, it was just the same with the GTO - I prefer it to the M3. The M3 was a fine car, but I got more for quite a bit less with the GTO. Then there is the subtopic of the G6 here in this thread. That car is the greatest disappointment I've seen from GM recently when going from concept to production. Gorgeous concept, hideous production car even if you ignore the GXP. The G6 is just plain goofy-looking, and I hope to see it replaced sooner rather than later.
  24. The word is that there won't be a replacement, it's no longer part of the plan (at least for now). Bums me out a bit as it was to be called Chevelle.
  25. Mr K, I think that you will find (if you look) that I have been very active in all topics that discuss alternatives. In fact I make it a point to respond when such threads are posted. Diversity in fuels and propulsion systems have been the solutions which I have been promoting heavily all over the site. It's just that this old editorial thread has seen better days. My time is at a premium this time of year, so this will be my last post in this thread - see you in a newer one soon.
