  1. Easily the best looking Corvette pace car - always liked these.
  2. Styling cost no more or little more to make a good looking car vs bad looking. . The fact is they put on what the majority wants and that is what you get if you like it or not. Number of choices now that is what cost money. That is why power windows and other options were made standard. Settlmire pointed out the F body got power windows standard as it was cheaper to build them all that way. Wrong. The beancounters decide, not the majority. They are the source of the bland, as beancounters are not creative. In a world with too many manufacturers, this is a losing approach. It is a slow death instead of a quick one, but a death just the same. Fewer platforms and more bodystyles is the way to go. Only the manufacturers who stand out by offering more variety will advance.
  3. All it would take to make this work is some backbone.
  4. Bland is cheap to build - that's why we have it. Sedans aren't the car of choice, they are the car of no choice. One-size-fits-all. Empty, and passionless. No choices, just least-common-denominators.
  5. Like that boat...
  6. CNG won't happen on this car simply because Holden's system is a dedicated CNG system rather than a dual fuel system. We don't have the infrastructure for that just yet. As for the rest of this, the car will be a sedan so my interest is limited.
  7. Wow! Even I didn't know that about the '59 El Camino.
  8. As long as it looks like this, I don't think sales will be a problem:
  9. This is the way forward if the vested interests can be curbed along with the damned EPA.
  10. What it would take is a repeal of the absurdly restrictive EPA requirements for conversions. The actual technology is cheap and well understood, only the EPA requirements make it so expensive. The rest would follow naturally if the EPA would get out of the way.
  11. Ick. I like 4th gen F-bods, but these just turn my stomach.
  12. '72 Blazer in orange with a soft top (sides rolled up) Econoline pickup in a medium blue Early sixties Ford pickup blue and white International Scout II going fast and topless All very clean.
  13. It is pretty cool. Hopefully, I'll get more updates.
  14. I always liked the Avalanche - too bad they are giving up on it.
  15. Sold the Dodge yesterday. The new owner flew in from California and is currently driving the car all the way across the country to get it home! Got a call today from him - they had made it as far as Dayton Ohio at mid-day, and hope to be in Kansas tonight.
  16. You can also add me to the list of fans when talking 70-73 F-bodies. I love both the Camaros and Firebirds of this vintage. Things went to hell in 74 though (especially for Camaro).
  17. One of my favorite colors of all time, and a real sleeper. I say Cheers!
  18. I always thought that this bodystyle was awkward, but time has mellowed my view a bit. It will never be my fave, but it is nice to see one survive.
  19. ... I might have to own this. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Pontiac-Firebird-Formula-400-four-speed-/251035014897?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item3a72da56f1#ht_500wt_924
