    Yay

For God's sake get that Olds into a bunker,Fly! We have all seen what happens to it without protection. :AH-HA_wink:
  2. Camino LS6

    ....

Thanks for the photoshop, Olds Guy. It looks hugely better with the body color bumper. As for the truck in general, I'm reserving judgement and hoping for more from the HDs.
  3. Hmm, not sure if I should be offended or not. This one has to be right or I'll just move on. Lots of other options out there. Like Chevelle wagons, big block Caminos, Firebird verts...
  4. I know, I know, but I'm not in a huge rush so I'm going to give it a try. For mileage, the lower the better but 70k would be the cut-off.
  5. If that black one has barn doors it would be just about perfect.
  6. I think the clock is ticking on this thread. If it doesn't offer some value in a hurry it'll be time for the old padlock.
  7. Wow! Some people should not have pets.
  8. The shows usually run from late afternoon until just after dark. As for the rest, "reasonable" is relative and I suspect that Duesenbergs are somewhat immune. I would say to look at the current prices on '40s and '30s stuff in general, prices seem to be down(except for street rods).

    Hmmm

Of course! I'm an idiot! The split bumper cars have turn signals above the bumpers, and they are round. I knew something was bothering me about the front. Duh.
  10. Camino LS6

    Hmmm

For comparison, there is a '70 SS 350 4spd. numbers matching car in my local trader that has an asking price of $8,900. Its a bit rough looking but restorable.
  11. Camino LS6

    Hmmm

Cracked open the Camaro book: Best guess is that it is a base car with the RS option. In which case, price is a bit high although these cars aren't easy to come by. I can decode the cowl tag for you if you can get a pic.
  12. Camino LS6

    Hmmm

Are you sure it's a 307? If it is, that's alot of modding for that engine. With all of that sheetmetal replaced, it is hard to tell what model it was because you could buy Z/28s and SSs with minimal options at that time. Assuming the split bumpers are original, it is at least an RS. Did you know that Z/28 wasn't offered with A/c until '73? At any rate the car looks well worth saving but I'd have to see/know more to have an opinion on the price.
  13. Try driving one of these around, they don't even ask - they just stare in confusion.
  14. Thanks again GMTG74, that dark green is so nice looking. I think I'm gonna pull a BV on this one and shoot for perfect.
  15. Thanks!
  16. If it had barn doors it would work. Really hoping for a really low mileage unit though. Thanks for the lead.
  17. Pic:
  18. True for the Blazer, but the Jimmy became the Yukon in '92
  19. I guess I should narrow it down a bit. I am looking for the following: '96-'99 4WD, barn doors,VERY clean,VERY low miles will consider '95 and back if manual and exceptional condition Holy Grail: '97 Yukon GT Prefer solid colors, preferably dark blue, dark green, black
  20. I have always loved the 2-door Tahoes and Yukons but searching for them online is a hassle. They always slip between the cracks in any search and I end up entering every configuration of 2-door Tahoe(Yukon) as in 2dr Tahoe, 2-door Tahoe, Tahoe 2-door, etc. or sifting through thousands of 4-doors just to find a handful of 2-door listings. What a PITA! So, if you run across any let me know.
  21. El Caminos are the victim of this foolishness in a disproportionate way. I reserve the right to question the parentage of the jackasses that do this sort of thing. There is a '59 El Camino ruined in this fashion in the old car trader.
  22. It is in Chesterbrook( Valley Forge) and I'd love to catch up with you at one of these shows. Takes place on the 4th Saturday of each month until November. Point taken about the shift from antiques to musclecars at B-J, but I think it reflects the aging of the population interested in pre-1950s cars more than an overall change in the level of auto enthusiasm in general. In a few decades, the same fate will likely befall cars of the first musclecar era. Values will drop and something else will be the hot trend in collectible cars.
  23. I've lived here all of my life, but lately I'm thinking of throwing in the towel. What I have always loved about this area is being ruined by the constant development and increasing population. Sprawl is trashing this place and driving Real Estate to unnatural levels. My parents built their house in 1969 for about $31k and it is now worth about 1 million. I have been effectively priced out of my home town. Additionally, there are so many people here now that someone is always in your face and traffic is pure hell. If the population suddenly dropped by 75% I would not want to be anywhere else. But, as it is, I am considering leaving.
  24. Well I'm in southeastern PA and there is a local Cruise Night once a month that attracts from 300-400 cars if the weather is good and numerous larger shows throughout the year. People of all ages (and cars of all ages) show up in droves, young and old. And each year the Carlisle shows get bigger. As for old cars and the interest level in them, I have two words: Barret-Jackson
