  1. I just took the Hawk out for a short drive and I think I'll go out for a longer one shortly. Maybe it should be "tire smoke in the wind"
  2. No worries OCN, I didn't take it the wrong way - Fly just made me laugh about it. Good luck with the PITA heatah... and your back.
  3. Thanks,BV.
  4. You're a good man,Fly.
  5. Thanks for the good thoughts, guys. And the one big laugh courtesy of Fly. I needed that! And MM, I hope you're right. But things may get worse before they get better. I'm gonna miss the Firehawks...
  6. ... right about now. Ever have one of those times in your life when everything just seems wrong? UGH! That's where I am now. The "ten thousand things" are all getting to me at once.
  7. I remember those things! We used to call them 200 SUXs. BTW: I totally approve of your sig quote. :AH-HA_wink:
  8. When it comes to the car market, bottom-feeding is an art form. An unpopular car with low-mileage and in good condition is what I hunt when I just need wheels. I usually end up with an Olds owned by someone over 65. Clean, reliable and anonymous (which has its own advantages). You will learn, young grasshopper, you will learn. Having a car you don't give a crap about can be sooo liberating.
  9. I used to own a '71 in the same color.
  10. Note to self: Keep the toys in the garage until curse passes. Sorry about the wreck, man. I hope it all works out ok.
  11. I should have put "monopoly" in quotes in my reply.
  12. I'm aware of the Delaware monopoly on corporations, it just struck me as odd that the meeting physically take place there. Is it a legal requirement? Thanks for the post.
  13. Hmm, odd that it would be in Wilmington. I guess that's what threw me.
  14. Just barely caught something on the news about GM having something like this in Wilmington today. Anyone else here this/know details? I kept watching but they didn't return to the story, and I was just waking up at the time.
  15. Here is a pic: More info and pics here: http://firehawk.org/article/1313.html
  16. I know nothing about the whole X-men thing, except that the official car of the first movie was: A 10th anniversary Firehawk!
  17. Can't wait to see the GMNA sheetmetal, if it is all as good as the Camaro...
  18. Perhaps he should have said re-badged versions of Japanese-market Toyotas and Hondas.
  19. Too many to list,BV. I now have hives from looking through these sections. These cars are way too common for a long distance search, you should have no problem finding some much closer to you. The 'ludes vary greatly in price depending on mileage but most are way beyond your range. There is a '93 that needs an engine for 1k though. The Del sols are mostly cheap, high mileage junk. The Acuras are beyond the price range, even the high mileage ones. Same for the Miatas and the Celicas no 240 SXs listed Much better range of choices with the 300ZX, it looks like the best bet for getting what you want from your list. One example: '92 300ZX 70k miles, $5,500 neg.
  20. None of these, but there are 3 cool Grand Sports.
  21. Furthermore, let me ask this question again. Can anyone name even ONE example of a car (still in production) that has lost its V8 option? Can you name one over the last 10 years that remained in production after losing a V8 option? Go ahead, research it . I can wait.
  22. So, are we finally going to get to the hard numbers I requested so many pages back? I hope so, it should shed some light on all of this opinion. Bottom line: choice is good and the choice in V8 cars is expanding. Because of that I am happier with today's V8 offerings than I was with yesterday's. I really don't give a rat's ass about volume, just availability. Let the sheep drive the sheepmobiles as long as I can get something that fits my criteria. Excluding such a revered and storied powerplant from production would be pandering to the least common denominator in car design. If this kind of thinking were to completely take over the industry there would be no point in being an enthusiast anymore(at least where new cars are concerned). There would also be no point in sites like C&G. What a dull world it would be.
  23. Enzora: "...yes and I can see the concrete - slowly creepin' Lord take me in mind before that comes"
  24. My apologies to everyone who's requests I didn't get to. I was trying to get Knightfan's request PM'd to him and having no luck. I got frustrated and decided to lie down on the couch: the next thing I knew it was morning.
