Lutz: "'We're much smarter now"
Good read. With all of GM's parts working together, I think development time will be cut down considerably and the giant will be moving very quickly.

Car Spotting
I saw an M3 while driving today, and also a new Boxster with sweet wheels going through the drive-thru at Taco Bell!?!?

Car Spotting
Last night I had a fellow 2004 GTO owner pull up behind me, except his was red. I'm guessing that's one of the few times I'll have another 2004-2006 GTO right behind me, at least around here and not at some GTO meet.

Just realized something... Cobalt
It seems GMPD gives them one extra lug. V-Series cars have 6 lugs while normal versions have 5.

Will GM be smart enough to bring us all of Opel?
They are going to bring the Opels here as they are. Lutz is not very happy that the Malibu and G6 suspensions got Americanized and soften, and he said that would not happen in the future.

Will GM be smart enough to bring us all of Opel?
The Tigra is 154.3 inches long, and the Sky is 161.1 inches long, so the Tigra is actually smaller and they're still similar in size. I see no reason why anyone would buy a Tigra unless they wanted it just for FWD.

Will GM be smart enough to bring us all of Opel?
The Epsilon II Aura will basically be a Epsilon II Vectra. The Astra is rumored to become the next ION. I could see the Zafira coming here as a Mazda5 fighter (how are those selling anyways?) and maybe the Tigra, but it seems like that's why we have the Sky. I don't really see most of them coming here though.

New Vue Timeline
The VUE is still going to be on Theta/Theta II. I think the reason it's not being built with the Equinox is lack of capacity.

Car Crazy on Speed
Thanks for posting, I'm going to watch it now... The little clip of the CTS-V for Woodward looked sweet!

.....
I don't mean the camo I mean the black plastic around the wheel arches and on the bottom of the doors.
-
.....
Everything looks pretty bland and generic when all the details are covered up... from what I can tell though, it should be pretty good-looking.
-
.....
Looks pretty good, I just hope that ugly black plastic doesn't make it to production, though I'm guessing it will.

CHARGER SRT
Is it a good performance value? Yes. But who said you don't factor in the interior when determining whether a vehicle is a good value? As for 0-60 and whatnot... they're both pretty similar. I think the fastest I've seen the Charger is 4.9 while the GTO got 4.7 in a test between in and the Charger SRT-8 in MT. You aren't going to notice much of a difference between 4.9 and 4.7 though.

Have you already sold the pics? (so we'll see them tomorrow then?)

Are we not getting the concept VUE now and just the 5-door?

......
I don't remember exactly what it sounds like, but I watched my dad drive one at ASIM and I think it was more roar than refined rumble.

Do you have the pics on your site? I looked and couldn't find them.

I'm pretty sure there are plenty of 2005 CTS-Vs sitting around that you could swing for about $46k, but if you go by MSRP then $7k is a somewhat large margin I guess. Yes, some people probably want an auto transmission in their large cars, and some people want a manual transmission in their performance cars. If I wanted the cheapest GM performance vehicle with 400HP and a stick, I'd buy a GTO. Also, I don't think I'd save money on the Vette unless I got a base one without all the features the CTS-V has.

Which Car should I get?
How much more is it to opt for the V8 in the Lucerne? If it's less than $2k or so I say pay the extra cash for the V8, you'll thank yourself in the end. Plus, resale should be a good bit higher. However, with the V6 it becomes a toss-up as others have said.

Autoextremist: What GM should look like.
Usually Delorenzo is at least mostly in agreement with my thoughts, but this is just crazy. He thinks GM can sustain it's current market share with only ~28 models with over half being from the "luxury/high performance" category? Basically, this would leave GM with 13 models to attack the mainstream market. Unless all the cars are selling at Camry levels and all the "people movers" are selling at like 300k average, there's no way it would work.

CHARGER SRT
It's actually the Camaro's headlight. For $38k the Charger is a good deal, but when you go into the $44k range, it becomes to close to the CTS-V. That's my take on the topic, even though I stand by what I said about the GTO.

Toyota to Launch Lexus $170,000 Supercar in 2008
The EVO IX has been timed around Nurburing at 8:11. The Z06? 7:43.

CHARGER SRT
Hmm, maybe I'll have to re-examine it, but I could have sworn the CXS door panels were way better than the CX models. Everything else may be comparable, but materials are not.

Toyota to Launch Lexus $170,000 Supercar in 2008
The Evo MR can beat a Z06 around a track? I'd like to see that...
