  1. I think NOS is speculating what engine will be in the concept, not necessarily the production model. And a concept Camaro sure as hell won't have a V6. I'm guessing either a supercharged LS2 with over 500hp (to one-up the Mustang GT500 which is also supercharged) or the LS7.
  2. I read the review too and it sounded like the track was in worse shape than most tracks, so they could have had something to do with it.
  3. The Aura's going to have 250HP too. The LaCrosse will probably receive an upgrade when it gets the 6-speed auto with the update.
  4. Wilmington. The Sky and Solstice are on one assembly line, and only are going to account for 35-40k sales annually. The plant has two lines, and 180k capacity, which means there's a line open for the Camaro and 140k units of capacity open, though GM won't plan to sell that many Camaros.
  5. You'll be able to get into some college, BV. There's someone at my school who has less than a 1.5 GPA and he found like 7 colleges that would accept him. Another alternative would be to go to a community college for two years and do well there.
  6. I meant last night but I forgot to close it. I'll wait until you get your's in to close it.
  7. Looks better in those pics 03Yukon posted. Can anyone read what the third thing down on the "best in class" thing is? I can read the others but can't figure out what that says.
  8. For whatever reason it looks like GM is waiting to release them until the 10th. I don't understand why because all of the other stuff at the auto show where it's debuting is being released today.
  9. He gave the criteria for being selected in a later post which explains who had the chance to have their name drawn.
  10. KEVIN A. WILSON Published Date: 10/31/05 On sale: Now Base Price: $27,715 Powertrain: 3.8-liter, 197-hp, 227-lb-ft V6; fwd, four-speed automatic Curb Weight: 3764 lbs 0 to 60 mph: 8.4 seconds (est.) Fuel Mileage (EPA combined): 22 mpg Ever since the Toyota Avalon arrived in 1994, car writers have called the big sedan “the best Buick money can buy,” playing around with variations on the old ad campaign that proclaimed “When better Buicks are built, Buick will build them.” Funny stuff. If you’re toiling for Buick, though, you have to admit the ads invited satire. That has to sting. Finally, after years of little more than wan grimaces in response, General Motors looks to be fighting back. Buick offered both a 2005 Avalon and its front-drive platform mate, the Lexus ES 330, for direct back-to-back comparison with the new 2006 Lucerne. This model replaces both the LeSabre and Park Avenue in struggling Buick’s rationalized car range, just as the LaCrosse (Allure in Canada) replaces both the Century and Regal. The new big Buick is named for a city in Switzerland, and our passenger on this first drive of the Lucerne was a big Swiss-born fellow named Bob Lutz, vice chairman of General Motors, who began by telling us his personal, chauffeur-driven ride is a DTS, but that he is swapping the Caddy for a Lucerne. The Cadillac and Buick are built on the same platform, the G-body that has underpinned some of GM’s best front-drive sedans for years. The Lucerne is offered with either a 3.8-liter 197-hp V6 or the 275-hp 290-lb-ft Northstar V8 (the first V8 offered in a Buick car in 10 years). Lucerne’s body sports lines borrowed from the Velite concept car. Once you get past the Buick waterfall grille, it has a Lexus-like look to it, and the comparison goes deeper. Fit-and-finish is excellent, the standard safety equipment is world-class, and the Buick is quieter than the Toyota-built cars offered for comparison. The cabin is up to snuff. The Lucerne uses high-quality materials and is screwed together properly, with an aesthetic appeal that, while hardly cutting-edge, is not so old-school as the LeSabre or the Park Avenue. Then there is the driving. On GM’s challenging ride and handling test loop at Milford and then over some of the better test roads in southern Michigan, the Lucerne proved imperturbable. Like an Avalon or ES 330, it’s no sport sedan, but if you’re in a hurry you can lean on a Lucerne and it won’t let you down. At the proving ground we sampled cars with Magnetic Ride Control, using the fast-acting, electronically controlled variable shock absorbers that damp out road-induced motions. Okay, we thought, but that old Buick float will be trouble in the twisties if you don’t get the Magnetic Ride Control. Then we hit the open road, and threw a Northstar-equipped Lucerne with the standard suspension into a couple of corners. It was unflustered. No wallow, no foul. Its back-road demeanor reminded us of the last Oldsmobile Aurora, a car that didn’t deserve to die with its marque. Continue reading: http://autoweek.com/article.cms?articleId=103482
  11. I didn't notice that before, but it does look similar to the ES. Nice catch. ES: Escalade:
  12. It will be called Camaro. If you continue reading on like page 4 or 5 guionM said something like "I'll be in Detroit to see the Camaro concept debut."
  13. It looks like they took the basic shape of the Tahoe and Yukon interior, inserted the STS radio, and then moved the air vents. I like it a lot. Is that a clock between the vents? That's what I thought it was at first but now I'm not so sure.
  14. Then read this: http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread....t=407750&page=2 If the FbodFather saying that they drew names from a box to see who got press passes for the unveiling doesn't confirm it, I don't know what will.
  15. Ehh, I don't really like the idea of a Saab version. Saab already has the 9-3 convertible and it sells like crap, so why would they do a roadster? If anything, they should shoehorn the 3.6L HF V6 in there and make it a Cadillac.
  16. I think BV means the TB SS, which looks pretty good.
  17. Since Saturns are moving upscale it will definetly have the 3.6L HF V6, which means it will have at least 250hp, and I'm guessing it will be smaller than the RAV4. Plus, how many people are actually going to shell out the extra money for the V6 when the I4 probably provides decent power?
  18. Where did you see the interior? If we thought the debut date was tonight, then I'm guessing some of the media will too, and we'll get to see the pics early.
  19. Didn't they release the Tahoe images before it debuted to the public? Maybe it's the same with the Escalade and they'll debut the pics tonight still?
  20. Well GM charges like $900 for the sunroof, and the XM is another $300, plus add to that either Bose and running boards or 17s and it seems reasonable.
  21. I first I thought the title was "Check This Pic Of The SLADE Out" and thought that meant the Escalade
  22. I would say the Ridgeline is really just a X-Over with a bed. I don't much care for it, but if GM could come up with something for GMC off of Lambda (and beef it up) then I'd be for it. EDIT: I should mention that the people across the street bought a Ridgeline probably 6 months ago (right after they came out) and seem to buy lots of Hondas. They've only lived there for probably 4 years but have had a Civic, CR-V, Accord, and Ridgeline in addition to a Tacoma, Land Rover Disco, and Celica. Currently they have the Accord, Ridgeline, and Tacoma, but I've never seen them do anything truck-like with either of the two "trucks". I think some people just buy them for image a la big SUVs. In the case of my neighbors though, I think they did buy it simply because it's a Honda considering their past record of vehicles. Dismissing the Ridgeline is not a good idea because it appeals to those who need light-duty truck work but don't enjoy driving something BOF (I would fall under this category if I needed a truck). I would say the vast majority of truck owners DON'T use thier trucks in excess of what the Ridgeline is rated to do, so it could be an alternative when it comes time to buy next.
  23. I don't think the Equinox's materials are that bad, but they aren't really worthy of a $30k vehicle as the Equinox is when it's fully loaded. The new VUE should be out a little more than a year after the new RAV4, and if the Antara is any indication, it will kick the shit out of the RAV4.
  24. I'm taking a guess here, but maybe the RAV4 replacement will be a Scion.
  25. I guess we missed this one with the SEMA stuff. Hummer H3 Street:
