  1. Tomatos and some school-prepared food.
  2. Yeah, I know he's talking about the red SUV. The rear window on it and the GMC Theta spy shot they had (that according to evok appeared to be in the design center if I remember what he said correctly) a while ago are similar.
  3. Looks similar to the GMC Theta spy shot they had. Maybe it's the Envoy.
  4. And in what roadster/sports car do you not sit low? He loses some credibility here. MT said the Ecotec was harsher and noiser than the Miata's, but they didn't seem to think it was unbearable like he does. MT also thought it handled very well, if not quite as good as the Miata. They certainly didn't think the Miata was a mile ahead. The Miata only barely beat the Solstice in performance (although it did beat it in every category, by a small margin in each) and most of that could be credited to the Solstice's worse power to weight ratio.
  5. I was expecting the front to have taller, thinner headlights, but it appears they are very similar to that of the Yukon. I do like the integrated turn signals on the mirrors, they look well done and very detailed. I'm guessing it is more angular than what can be seen in the tiny front pic, so I'm hoping it doesn't look so similar to the Yukon. It appears they used chrome pretty heavily, which I guess is good for the "bling" factor.
  6. Maybe we'll get interior pics from actual SEMA show-goers, but for the last two years now GM hasn't done interior pics for whatever reason.

I think they could put door handles on it like the Vette has so it's less noticeable, 18s instead of 19s and 20s, raise it an inch or two, and exhaust like the Maxx SS has, and it'd still have most of its personality and would sell in droves.
  8. No press release
  9. Pontiac ’s roomy new 2006 G6 coupe already has the looks and performance of a competition-inspired machine, so it doesn’t take much to boost the excitement factor. GM Performance Division built the G6 Performance Coupe to showcase how wild the 2+2 coupe could be with replacement body parts. Those parts include new front and rear fascias, new rocker panels and a large rear deck wing. Forgeline 19-inch wheels and racing-inspired Wilwood brakes complete the functional/stylistic additions. 10. For whatever reason it appears members can't post in the SEMA section? If no one can post, I'll move all the topics to the auto show section rather than the SEMA section. I look at all the settings in the Admin panel but everything appears to be fine to me, so I don't know what the problem would be. Let me know if you can't post there so I can move the topics ASAP.
  11. That's odd; can any members post in the SEMA section? Maybe something is set up wrong. As for the G6, I don't like the stripe, but everything else is good.
  12. That actually looks decent, but I would have liked them to try a sportier take on the Torrent rather than something that looks like it's for off roading.
  13. That color is sweet, though I'm sure it's really expensive. The wheels aren't too great, but I'm liking the smoked headlights. I think they should make this engine standard in the SS S/C.
  14. The front reminds me of the Malibu Maxx Cross Country from last year's SEMA show, maybe it's a sign of things to come. I think the front looks ok (a bit overdone though), the rest is just tacky.
  15. Ehh... I don't like this one too much. The front is no good (IMO) and the rest is just ok.

That looks pretty sweet to me! The front could use a little touching up I think, but everything else screams "cool!"
  17. I'm not digging the stripe, but everything else looks really good. Definetly the direction Pontiac should be going: sporty, yet clean without any boy-racer looks.
  18. So, it would appear GM acknowledges that the BRX exists, and I doubt they'd be talking about a concept version if it wasn't debuting this show season. Personally, I think GM should just sell Saab. I really don't think Saab is worth much except the dealership base in Europe for Cadillac to start a base. Once there are enough Cadillac dealers set up, there will be no point in keeping Saab, and thus no point in building this crossover.
  19. By Jamie LaReau Automotive News / October 28, 2005 DETROIT-- General Motors is considering a crossover vehicle for its Saab brand. GM would base the vehicle on a Cadillac concept and build it on a new, mid-sized crossover architecture. GM will not say when it plans to unveil its concept model of a Cadillac crossover. But the company is thinking of designing a "highly differentiated" version of the Cadillac vehicle for Saab, says Robert Lutz, GM's vice chairman of global product development. The company is examining a business case for the Saab crossover, Lutz said at a press event here this week, by weighing GM's investment against the vehicle's potential worldwide sales volume. GM seeks to boost its U.S. market share in the crossover segment from 14.4 to 20 percent by 2010. The company plans to launch three crossovers in the next 18 months, Lutz says. Buick, GMC and Saturn each will get one of the vehicles. GM offers seven crossover vehicles and plans to double that number by 2009. All new crossovers will be compatible with GM's hybrid technology, Lutz says. GM will offer most crossovers with V-6 engines and a choice of front-wheel or all-wheel drive. "We won't offer a broad menu of engines," Lutz says. "We'll offer the engine that is the most optimal for each particular vehicle's size and weight." If instability in fuel prices persists, Lutz adds, GM will offer more four-cylinder versions of the crossovers. More: http://www.autonews.com/news.cms?newsId=13713
  20. 3.6L and 4.7L UV8 will be the engines according to AH-HA. I think they'll all have 6-speeds standard.
  21. I'm pretty sure they'll all have 3 rows of seats, as they're SRX-sized or bigger I think. I've heard they'll have a power liftgate, but not much else about the features. According to an insider that I've read posts at other places from, the interior in the Outlook is the best from GM ever, and even better than the new Escalade's, at least in terms of design.
  22. I don't think anyone said it was the Envoy, they were just talking about the rumor that the Lambdas might replace the GMT360s.
  23. Buick and Cadillac might work, but it'd take far too much work to do so and would take YEARS. By that time Buick will have been able to assert itself in the luxury marketplace. As for Pontiac being too common, I don't really agree. GMC sells more vehicles by Pontiac, and by quite a large margin. If Pontiac is to have the GTO, Solstice, G6, and "G8" (on Zeta) by 2010 (drop the Torrent when the GMC Theta comes, kill the SV6) then I see no reason why it cannot exist in the same showroom as Buick. The GTO is obviously priced in Buick territory, and is as nice as any Buick, the Solstice, while cheap, could look fine in about any showroom, the G8 or whatever they name it should be able to be sold alongside a Buick sister car, and the G6 really isn't that bad, and pretty similar to the LaCrosse actually.
  24. The UV8 is SOHC? I hadn't heard that but maybe I misquoted AH-HA. I don't know for sure, but I've heard that the 4.7 is replacing the Northstar, and I haven't read anywhere that they were still going to keep the name 'Northstar,' so maybe there's a new name.
