  1. I think Enclave is fine if they're positioning the vehicle upmarket. My subdivsion has different areas, I think there are about 10 different additions that have been made. Anyways, the newest and most luxurious area is called "The Enclave," so it gives me a sense of luxury. There are definetly better names, but it's certainly not that bad.
  2. The UV8 is the eventual replacement for the Northstar I believe. It's 4.7L in displacement according to AH-HA, DOHC, should have all the goodies. I'm guessing it'll have 360+ HP in Cadillacs to match the new BMW engine, but probably around 300HP in the Lambdas.
  3. Since the G6 competition got over late, I decided to give you guys an extra week (that way I can catch up with posting results too), so it's over on the 5th of Nov.
  4. I think the interior is top of the class. The Pilot, Highlander, Freestyle, and others have nothing over it. And, if GMC<Saturn<Buick, then the Saturn will be nicer than this, and the Buick will be kickass.
  5. Did they do like 0-150 times? It'd be interesting to see which vehicle is ahead after they reach the 150mph mark, which is probably close to the fastest they'd get on the track (assuming it's not an oval). Sounds like a good "American Muscle" issue like they did 6 or so months ago with the 300 SRT8, CTS-V, and GTO, which was a lot of fun to read.
  6. 91z: I'm going to edit your post to link to the spy shots since they're copyrighted.
  7. If mightymouse says its a Tahoe concept, then I'd say it's a Tahoe concept.
  8. I don't think that's the Envoy, I think it's the GMC Lambda. Notice the six lugs just like on the Outlook spy shot, and also notice that it appears to be lower than the current Envoy. Finally a Lambda interior shot, and I'd say it looks pretty good! Also, notice the dual exhuasts... probably testing the UV8.
  9. Sorry, school's been really busy and I haven't had time. I'll do it as soon as a finish writing my 8 page english paper, which will probably not be before Friday.
  10. The wing is rediculous, everything else looks good though. Nice duals.
  11. With the quarter ending on Friday I should have a lot more time to do the comps after that (the teachers are piling on the work and I have this big English essay too). If you guys want to post any results that I haven't yet and start voting on the G6 comp tonight at midnight EST then it'd be fine by me. I should have plenty of time after we get through this week, but I'll be sure to ask for some help with running the comps if I have trouble later. Thanks for the help, guys.
  12. When I went to the dealer when they had their Sky display up they were taking orders and already had 4, so I assume everything is still going as planned.
  13. Before evok pointed out tow hooks would haul it around I thought it was an El Camino. I don't really have a clue now though. But, wasn't there a rumor they were just now claying the Camaro concept? Hmm...
  14. The roof looks a little tacked on, and the wing should go, but other than that it looks pretty good I think.
  15. Saw my first HHR on the road today. Purple, looked good. I've yet to see a G6 GTP coupe, but the G6 GT coupes look pretty good. Much better than the ugly Fusion at the Ford dealership next door.
  16. Wow, it's good to see GM gaining ground everywhere but in North America. Does anyone have worldwide sales figures for all automakers? It'd be interesting to see if GM is outpacing the competition in terms of sales growth worldwide or not.
  17. I'm guessing the Z06 will sound pretty damn awesome, though I've yet to here one. The GTO is pretty damn good, IMO. Even the 2004's exhuast note is sweet.
  18. Hardly any of the pages work unfortunately. It'd be nice to have some of those rumor threads back from way back when. Edit: the thread where we were granted media access works, too bad some other sites broke embargoes and now we don't have it anymore :(
  19. The Solstice will sell on looks alone. I think the Solstice will be the true roadster while the Sky appeals to those who want all the goodies and are more concerned with a nice interior. I don't think it's so easy as having a "nice interior" option; if GM had to contract two "grades" of interior materials it'd probably cost a lot of money. I doubt GM could sell the Solstice and make a profit if it had an interior like everyone is asking for.
  20. I don't remember, but somwhere I read that it would get the 3900 for 2007 MY.
  21. By Jamie LaReau Automotive News / October 24, 2005 General Motors CEO Rick Wagoner doubtless sighed with relief last week after announcing a deal with the UAW to reduce GM's health care costs. The UAW's rank and file is expected to ratify the plan to shift some health insurance and prescription drug costs onto retirees and active workers. If so, GM's after-tax savings would total $1 billion a year. That's not chump change, but it won't be enough to restore GM's profits. Last week, the automaker announced that its North American automotive operation lost $1.6 billion in the third quarter. Restive investors (read: Kirk Kerkorian) are demanding a quick turnaround. Over the next year or so, here's what Wagoner must do to save his job: 1. Close assembly plants and eliminate jobs. According to PwC Automotive Institute, GM's North American assembly plants are operating at only 74 percent of production capacity. That's pretty dismal. To operate at 100 percent of capacity, GM would have to close six plants. Last week, Wagoner confirmed that GM is negotiating future plant shutdowns with the UAW. Wagoner also has vowed to eliminate 25,000 hourly jobs over the next three years. He can achieve that through attrition. 2. Adopt value pricing without a huge loss of market share. You've heard the old joke: "The operation was successful, but the patient died." That may be the case with value pricing. This fall, GM adopted a value pricing strategy that requires it to set sticker prices close to the transaction price paid by the consumer. No more big incentives. Sure enough, incentives declined -- and sales plunged. According to Edmunds.com, GM spent $2,973 per vehicle on incentives in September, down from the $4,593 a year earlier. But GM's September sales were off 24 percent compared with the same period a year earlier. October sales look dismal, too. GM isn't panicking yet, but it can't sit still much longer. 3. Sell all or part of GMAC. The sale of GM's financing unit would improve the unit's credit rating. GMAC might have to pay higher interest rates if GM's shaky credit rating continues to decline. If it cannot borrow money cheaply, GMAC cannot loan money to consumers and dealers at competitive rates. A spinoff would preserve its credit rating and profits. Moreover, the sale of a controlling interest in GMAC would allow GM to pocket $12 billion to $14 billion. 4. Fix Pontiac-Buick-GMC. Wagoner appears determined to maintain all eight GM brands. To do so, he must coax dealers to combine Pontiac, Buick and GMC franchises into single stores. That would allow GM to eliminate overlapping products. Wagoner is making progress. Presently, GM has about 800 superstores that sell all three brands. Those dealerships generate 56 percent of those brands' unit sales, boasts Mark LaNeve, GM's vice president of vehicle sales, service and marketing. 5. Ensure a flawless launch of full-sized trucks. In January, GM will launch its redesigned full-sized SUVs. The next generation of big pickups debut late next year. With profits that have ranged up to $15,000 per vehicle, these trucks are essential for GM's success. Wagoner must make sure these products are launched on time with no quality glitches. But Wagoner can't control gasoline prices. With gasoline ranging up to $3 a gallon, and with industrywide sales of full-sized SUVs down 16.3 percent through September, GM's profits could suffer accordingly. 22. I assume that means 25-27 on the highway, right? That's really not hat bad considering the Malibu Maxx SS I saw yesterday got 24 on the highway! :o
  23. They're the same type of vehicles as the Pacifica, etc. that you mentioned. The GMT360 replacement rumor/discussion was about whether Lambda would eventually replace the 360s later on.
  24. The Lucerne is getting the 3.9L for '07 I think, although I personally feel it should get the 3.6L. The UV8 could then replace the Northstar. I think the new tagline could work, espcially if the new Rendezvous replacement is as good as we've heard.
  25. The CX looks really hum-drum, and needs bigger wheels. The CXL looks okay, but I really only like the look of the CXS.
