GM Truck News: Chevy could ditch Colorado name in U.S.
True black-knight (btw, Silverado became the official pickup truck name in 1999 with the all-new GMT-800 line; the C/K designation stopped though it was still part of the model codes <see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Silverado>).

NAIAS '12 Press Conference Schedule
GMTruckGuy74 replied to Chris_Doane's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)No offsite events for GMC as far as I know. They can't play all their cards at one auto show when there are 4 major shows for the U.S. They still need to have something for Chicago and NYC. Chicago is generally the truck show. I was thinking about this... there's been no news the past several months about the upcoming GMC Terrain Denali. Surprise debut at the NAIAS?

Canadian-only Oddity: 1955 Dodge Mayfair 2dr
I remember seeing one on a trip to Lancaster with my parents back in '89 or '90. I was dumbfounded seeing it! It took me about 3-4 years to learn that it was a Canadian car (pre-Internet). This is similar to what I saw:

GM Truck News: Chevy could ditch Colorado name in U.S.
I really like "Sonoma", I think it fits in better with Yukon, Savana, Sierra, Terrain and Acadia. Much better than "Canyon" does. It would be an upscale name for a truck that is hopefully more upscale than the current model. I agree with you on Cheyenne for the new truck. It fits in well with Silverado, Tahoe, and Suburban, and it is heritage-based in the Chevy Truck history line (even though it was a trim name and not a model name).

GM News: 21 Week Vacation Coming To GM's Truck Plants
I'm going to guess that either the Chicago or New York auto shows will be where the "show trucks" are debuted. Likely Chicago, as many have mentioned that is the traditional truck show, but NY has also been known for GMC releases in the past too.

They shoulda made a V18 version...
Apparently that's two GMC 305 V6 engines bolted togehter. Or it could be 351, 379, 401, 432, 478 or 702 in cubic inches too http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GMC_V6_engine

Cheers or Jeers: 2,000 mile 1989 Pontiac Firebird Formula 350
I remember going with my dad and sister to the local Pontiac dealership (Cathcart Pontiac, Ewing, NJ) in the spring of '89 as my sister wanted to buy a metallic blue showroom '89 Formula. It was a great looking car and I was rallying for her to buy it. The salesman/manager wouldn't come to agreement on a trade-in value on my sister's '84 Ford Mustang LX and the sales price of the Formula - she ended up at the local Ford dealership with a new-for-'89 Ford Probe GT instead I love the Formulas and Trans Ams of this time period, and this maroon one is a fantastic find for a 3rd generation fan.

GMTruckGuy74 replied to Chris_Doane's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)And nothing for GMC? You would think the New GM would value showing/debuting something for each of their remaining brands at their home show

A Yuletide Full of Spots
It's fleet. The sales force of my company get a work vehicle (there's a whole department devoted to the procurement, maintenance/insurance, and release of company vehicles). They buy so many that all company employees are entitled to GM Supplier pricing and whatever Chrysler gives. Seeing this makes me wonder if I can fleet order a Caprice PPV (yeah right! )
