  1. Yes... using the word "performance" solely as a substitution for "output".
  2. I didn't realize that old POS took premium. You'd think after all this time they could get the same performance from regular.
  3. And mine is $4.139 for 87, self serve.
  4. I'm getting a slight mercedes vibe from that shot.. and not in a good way... I really need to see more to judge it.
  5. Well, are they being recommended? It said: "Also performing adequately but no longer considered class-leading are the Toyota Corolla, Nissan Sentra and Mazda3." That leads me to believe it's down there with the Civic... it's adequate but nothing special. Although the Corolla and Sentra were hardly anything great when they were brand new.
  6. On the Impala, I doubt the lack of paint choices has anything to do with pigment supply from Japan. I'm going to have to agree. What disappoints me is that SO many people stick to the same white/black/silver/beige colors for almost all cars. Even my parents did that... a beige Sonata and a Sandstone Metallic Lucerne. My grandfather used to say, "Nessuno ruba una macchina grigia." (No one steals a gray car)... essentially alluding to how it blends in, it's boring, etc. People are boring today. Most want a boring car and a boring color. Now, I'll prob end up making my next car CPO, but if I could swing it, I'd totally get a blue car. I am not a fan of the Midnight Blue Metallic that Buick offers because I feel if the car color is called "midnight" it should be very dark blue and it isn't. I loved the Majestic Blue Metallic offered on the Regal but that is gone this year and I thought the Slatestone Metallic on the last gen LaCrosse was nice too... was kind-of a medium blue-gray. I'd like to see a newer version of Forest Green return.. my mom had a 92 LeSabre Limited in that color and it was gorgeous.
  7. That's pretty much it. You can get the 2.4L with eAssist on the CX and CXL (the CXS is available exclusively with the 3.6L). I think the new 3.6L will make the car have a nice bit of punch.. not that the one before was lacking.
  8. MY2014 is when you'll get a new Impala.
  9. Exactly! The interior is identical to last year's model. A new engine and transmission alone does not a good MCE make. Interior improvements on this Impala, STAT! That's a different wood-grain. That's all you're going to get.
  10. You know, it's my own fault for my reaction--my brain kept thinking the 2.4L gets 30mpg, but didn't factor in the fuel economy of the 2.4L with eAssist... getting 37mpg hwy with a 15.7 gallon tank actually does leave for a nice range in the car.
  11. Just checked out the order guide and it looks like the new 3.6L will be rated at 303 hp [226.04 kW] @ 6800 and Torque 264 lb-ft. [356.40 N-m] @ 5300 for the front wheel drive model--a nice bump over its predecessor. The AWD model is still listed as TBD. Might be a fuel economy jump as well. The same engine and transmission setup in the Impala is rated 18/30 city/highway. And I just noticed the 2.4L with eAssist only has a 15.7 gallon tank... was hoping they'd stay with the normal 18 gallon (19 on AWD) tanks and have a long range. EDIT: Link to the Order Guide

    Huge cars

I like the Lucerne and come from a family of tall drivers. My brother is 6'6", I'm 6'3", my dad is 6'2", my uncle is 6'5". It's one of the few cars where I feel I can actually stretch out or have someone in the front seat and I'm not completely stuck with my knees jammed and immobile in the back seat.
  13. +1 on smoothness/quietness, not to mention most attractive in the lot. Found it interesting they said "traditional hybrid" in the article.
  14. Happy Birthday guys!
  15. I feel that's a moot point. They went this route because sex sells--although this is kinda PG. How many times do you see ads and you say to yourself, "Wow, a whole bunch of people said 'yes' to this?" This simply may be one of those cases where some screwballs said, "Wow, that's an awesome ad!"
  16. Yup, we are prudes. In Europe you can pretty much see topless women on tv at any given time on a telenovella or whatever, and at 10PM tv practically turns into porn. Even the cartoons.
  17. From wikipedia: Calendar Year U.S. sales 2005 41,011 2006 101,298 2007 105,175 2008 96,053 2009 70,842 2010 75,401 Cobalt sales numbers from the same years for comparison: Model Year U.S. Sales 2005 212,667 2006 211,450 2007 200,621 2008 188,045 2009 104,724 2010 97,376 So it looks like aside from the first year (which was likely limited by early production rates), Chevy sold one HHR for every two Cobalts approximately. What are you talking about? According to your numbers, it sold tens of thousands LESS than the Cobalt for 2009 and 2010? And the Cobalt wasn't selling well by then. I'll be fair though, it was on the market for 5 years, it was due for a replacement with a powertrain and interior upgrade. Personally, I think the HHR and PT Cruiser looked horrendous, but I understand its appeal to others; it's simply not my cup of tea.
  18. Well, was it really selling? I mean, if it wasn't selling well, why would they continue to build it? The PT Cruiser was so overplayed for so long and GM was late in the game. If they updated the HHR extensively, maybe I could see it going on longer.
  19. Won't hold my breath. Alfa was "returning" when I took my state test 7 years ago and I had to read an article in Italian about it.
  20. <cynical> Because the Regal has a younger demo that wants more connectivity in their media...</cynical> No order guide yet for the Verano (it's coming for '12, isn't it?) You're probably right though. And yes, the Verano is supposed to be for sale summer of 2011, so I would hope any day now we'd see an order guide and know pricing! I'm actually interested in it.
  21. Well, this is a surprise. The order guide has been updated for the Regal, and it says STANDARD for the base is: "Audio system, AM/FM/SiriusXM stereo with MP3 CD player, USB and AUX port, 7" color touch screen display, MP3/WMA playback, iPod support and upgradeable software." 7" color touch screen for the base? Nice Wonder why the more expensive LaCrosse doesn't get that?
  22. Happy Birthday man! I have always wondered, does "TMP" mean anything? Your initials? An acronym to a company I don't know about? I've always just read it as "temp" when I've seen your posts
  23. It's even heavier than that, weighing 3669lbs and having a 0-60 of 6.6 seconds...
  24. Really cheap looking wood? What are you talking about? Firstly, I recall reading reviews in the past when it first came out saying that the faux wood was so well done they didn't realize it wasn't real until they looked it up, and secondly, I think it looks very handsome.
  25. You did. Enclave may get a smaller 6cyl, but there is a smaller vehicle for Buick that get a 4cyl (the upcoming Encore). There are no stated changes to the engine of the Enclave this year in the official order guide.
