  1. For a $35k sports coupe not to have a sunroof as an option was absurd... small issue, but still irritating.
  2. I saw the Toyota ad with the canyon again tonight during 24..I assume it was faked/CGI (i.e. no canyon there, just a flat road).
  3. Of course you won't like it..it doesn't have Wide Track, tailfins, yards of chrome, BOF, vinyl seats, a hardtop or carburators... we know you won't like it...
  4. Lovely..those numbers sound like how it was last week in Regina, Saskatchewan..two of my coworkers were up there last week visiting family...told me stories of it getting down to 40 below...
  5. I'm waiting until I see it in person until I make a real judgement on it... can't really tell by pictures... I've seen tons of photos of the Commodore on line and I like what I see from the pics, but I need to see it in person.
  6. Good question...I wonder if the G8 is going to be a one-trim model or if there will be V6 trims?
  7. Yes, looks like there is a bit of pointiness to the fascia...I'd like to see an offset license plate. Centered plates are just so ordinary.
  8. I doubt if it's something that old..I'd assume the G8 will have the same 6.0 as the '06 GTO?

After 7 weeks of cold and snow, the weather finally broke...upper 40s and sun yesterday and 60 and sunny today...woooohooo...enough to make me want to leave work early and drive around w/ the sunroof open and windows down. It's been a relatively hard winter so far here in the Mile High City... and normally, March and April are our big snow months...but hopefully the coldest is over (it was -18 last Thurs. night).
  10. Those are a retro touch, probably to placate the oldsters that whined about the '04 GTO not having a hood scoop..though I don't mind 'em. The taillights are from the Holden Commodore SS V-series, it looks like.. I like the grille treatment.
  11. Cool tease..

A base Mustang GT has 300 hp...I can't see Chevy selling a V8 model with 50% more power for about the same price...I just don't see it happening... maybe a 300 hp Camaro and 450 hp top-end model, though.. I wonder if Chevy will resurrect some of the old Camaro trim levels... Z-28, SS, RS, maybe?
  13. Interesting..I've heard of limited-slip differentials, but I'd never heard that acronym... then again, I'm not a hardware guy.
  14. Interesting..I've heard of limited slip differentials in the context of '60s muscle cars, not in the context of modern cars...I would expect traction control to be there.
  15. I took that as the underlying theme of the ad...a committment to quality.
  16. LSD? What's that? Not familiar with that TLA..
  17. Interesting... I like the front, but the rear..I wonder what the function of the ugly thingy below the license plate is..
  18. Handsome truck... I don't see the regular cabs very often..like the color.
  19. I was surprised not to see a Cadillac ad (unless I missed it). Where's Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit?
  20. Obesity, like with American people, is a common problem with most all American trucks, SUVs, and crossovers... that's just the way it is here, I guess.
  21. I liked the robot one... the ads (overall, not just GM) have been so-so this year, IMHO. But I loved the Prince half time show...(Purple Rain in the rain!)
  22. Yes... I'd love M5-ish performance and style but at a cheap Pontiac price.. The G8 is definitely very appealing to me as a BMW owner (older M3). But the '08 CTS is also very appealing to me... it's great to see domestics on my radar again. The Charger does nothing for me..I don't care for interior or exterior styling and the lack of manual option rules it out.
  23. I like watching the Super Bowl for the ads, I'll admit. I'll probably TiVo through parts of the game to see the ads.. But I am cheering on the Bears since my Broncos didn't make it.
  24. Ah yes, Lake Effect snow..fun stuff...I remember that from when I lived in the Cleveland-Akron area from '88-94. There were huge regional variations in snow fall..and in Cleveland itself I remember it snowing horizontally (wind off the lake).. We had our coldest night of the winter here Thursday night-- -18F (set a record). It's up to 45 and sunny now, with some melting--it's snowed at least once a week for the last seven weeks..this is probably the worst winter I've seen in the last 9 years in Colorado. And it's only February..we normally get our biggest snows here in March and April..
  25. Strange how some people don't like hatchbacks... I would never buy a compact or subcompact like this with a trunk..that hatchback is infinitely more useful and looks better, IMHO...
