  1. I like the standard model front end better than the Red Line...I don't care for the 'mouth wide open' fascia of the Red Line..
  2. I'd like to see with a diesel and a 6spd manual...that would be the ultimate combination..
  3. He gets more drama this way, though..
  4. Looks great... GM finally has an appealing compact for NA...the Cobalt has zero interest to me, but this is definitely appealing....
  5. Well, yes, but the # of Asian trucks sold in the US in the 50s was extremely small, so....
  6. Interesting...well, with the Malibu, Aura and next LaCrosse, GM certainly has the midsize FWD market covered...making Pontiac unique and all RWD would be one way to revive the brand...
  7. But the CV is 90% or so fleet sales, isn't? It would be interesting to see a comparison of consumer sales between the two..
  8. I think I will hit 100k with my Jeep GC at about the 9 year mark (76k at 6.5 years so far). Then I'll be ready for a new daily driver. Though it is cool that there are vehicles that will go 250k or more... but I wouldn't want to drive one that long..I think I'd get bored with the same vehicle decade after decade..
  9. They are kind of irrelevant, I think...how many people really keep a car that long? 100k miles (<10 years for me) is about as long as I'd want to keep a daily driver...
  10. Mercury has been among the living dead of brands for years...unless Ford can craft a unique style with some unique models for it (not Fords with different plastic trim), then I see no point in continuing it...
  11. I'm looking forward to seeing the new G35...I like the current one..haven't driven one, but have ridden them a couple times..a couple weeks ago, a coworker bought a dark blue '06, pretty sweet, a big step up from his old Cavalier..(though the Cav was probably better in snow).
  12. But most of us in NA have only seen pictures of the Commodore... as some may know, cars often look different in person than in photos...I'm looking forward to seeing the G8 in person. Anyway I look at it, the Commodore is a 1000% improvement over the blah Grand Prix...
  13. The loss of the Grand Prix also leaves a hole in Avis' lineup. What are they going to do? More Impalas and G6s?

    That has to be fake..
  15. But much nicer, being RWD w/ a V8 ...
  16. The only FWD car I'd pay over $30k for would be a TL-S..maybe.
  17. Hopefully the G8 option list will be better than the GTO was...it should offer nav, sunroof, etc...
  18. True..the old V6s and 4spd autos are fine for rental cars, but if GM expects more people to buy their midsize FWD models, they need more competitive, class-appropriate hardware (which they are moving towards with cars like the Aura and '08 Malibu w/ the 3.6 and 6spd auto).
  19. I don't see the exterior changes on the Titan..must be pretty subtle.
  20. Speaking of '79-84 Eldos, I was behind one in traffic this morning in the snow.. looked to be in great condition..a light chocolate brown with NO vinyl/padded top. I haven't seen one of those in ages in any condition.
  21. Good to see them fade out after a long period of service...they made ok rental cars (I've rented a bunch over the last decade, Luminas, Monte Carlos, Impalas, Grands Prix, Centurys)... I always thought the Ws--any of them--had wierd proportions, more so than other FWD cars..the front wheel to front door distance was very short with a long overhang in front of the wheel...made them look awkward...
  22. Whatever....LS2, L98, yada yada... GM will figure it out and the car will have a V8.
  23. I remember that... it did seem strange for a Cadillac to have a Corvette engine... I would have rather seen the CTS-v have a Northstar variant, that would be more appropriate for a Cadillac, IMHO...though there is really nothing wrong with the 5.7/6.0.
  24. Dodge has been DCX's performance (sporty might be a better description) brand for many years...Dodge is their Pontiac, Chrysler is their Buick, and Merc is their Cadillac, so to speak. Plymouth was their Chevy before it's demise. (these are approximate analogies, of course).
  25. It's different with Chrysler... SRT is a corporate-wide performance label across the 3 brands, while SS, GXP, V-series, etc are brand-specific within GM. It's a different paradigm.
