2008 Cadillac CTS: Image Gallery
I like it too...and the 3-series.. I'd have to drive both before I could judge which I liked better... can't wait to see the CTS upclose...it's interesting how it looks smaller than it is in the pics.

Another LaxSoup spy pic
Of course, since they've already put the 5.3 in other dubyas, the Super was probably pretty cheap to develop...a nose job and an engine transplant.

2008 Dodge Avenger
Robert Hall replied to Intrepidation's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)Interesting...as far as the naming goes, they have Ram, Charger, Avenger, Nitro, Caliber, Viper... and Dakota and Durango..all very macho, tough-sounding names... I guess the marketers are targeting a demographic of right-wingers and rugged outdoors types...

FIRST LOOK: DCX Minivans
I like the shifter spot..that's the typical spot for the shifter in European and some Japanese minivans..

PIERCINGS AND TATTOOS
I'm not a fan of tattoos, though I have dated women that had a few, small hidden ones. I don't care for piercings beyond the normal (ears)...i.e. I don't care for pierced tongues, lips, eye brows, eye lids, nipples, labia, nose, sternums, necks, skulls, etc...

No armrest or center headrest? That's wierd...

2008 Cadillac CTS: Image Gallery
I'm looking forward to seeing and studying the CTS in person... I want to see how the decklid is shaped up close--looks like it's higher on the sides and dips in the middle...interesting design.

2008 Cadillac CTS: Image Gallery
reg's mindless blathering gets old... I see probably 15 3-series for every 1 CTS here in the Denver metro area..very popular car around here, and it's pretty much right in the 'middle of America' (a bit to the west of the geographic center)...the 3 series is pretty space-efficient, IMHO.

I have a 6'3" coworker that drives a new 3-series 4dr.. I haven't tried riding in the back (I'm 6'0"), but my 5'7" coworkers fit in the back the just fine.. the 3-series is a great size, IMHO...not too small, not too big..

I suspect it would be..aren't Impala SS and Grand Prix GXP north of $30k? It wouldn't be priced less than them..

Best car commercial ever
I remember it also...my friend Steve bought a black Maxima SE that year and kept talking about that ad..

Lexus IS-F
Robert Hall replied to Intrepidation's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)The lack of a manual transmission option and the cartoonish bodykit turn me off completely. I'd have to look at the CTS-v or another M3.. I wonder what the price point will be...probably up there in RS4 or M5 territory..

First Look: 2008 Pontiac G6 GXP
True enough...I'd like to see a comparison test between this and the Civic Si...the Si seems like a pretty slick package..
-
CONCEPT: Chevrolet Volt
I really like the styling...futuristic, but not wildly out there...

2008 Cadillac CTS: Image Gallery
Same here..I like what I've seen so far, but I'll reserve judgement until I can sit in it, walk around it, etc..

First Look: 2008 Pontiac G6 GXP
But do you like the 'Fast and Furious' movies? I think Pontiac is going after the 'tuner' crowd with this car...
-
First Look: 2008 Pontiac G6 GXP
Yeah, I'm afraid this GXP goes over into tacky..but I figure the kids will probably like it...I'm not the target demographic for this car (I'm 36).

First Look: 2008 Pontiac G6 GXP
You misinterpreted my posts...I like the '70 GTO and it's wing....my point was for Pontiac to put scoops and a big wing on the G6 is consistent with what they have done in the past...that's all. It's nothing new for Pontiac to do flashy styling...look at the '70 Judge, the late '70s Trans Ams, the '90s Trans Ams and Grand Ams, etc...the G6 GXP is another interation of the flashy side of Pontiac....

2008 Ford Focus
Robert Hall replied to Flybrian's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)It sounds like they have made a lot of mechanical improvements and changed the styling. Too bad they dropped the hatchback styles.

2008 Cadillac CTS official photos
So far, I have to say it looks great inside and out...I really like what I've seen of the interior, with the wood and two-tone. (I hate the look of fake carbon fiber as much as real carbon fiber). I like what I've seen of the exterior, would like to see it in silver or a dark blue. I like the wheels also.

2008 Subaru Legacy/Outback
Robert Hall replied to Variance's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)So Subaru has dropped the Saab tribute grille theme that they were pursuing with the Tribeca and Impreza?
-
CONCEPT: Chevrolet Volt
Good question...or how about if I drove it in my daily commute (which since my company moved offices, is now 0.4 miles each way)?
-
First Look: 2008 Pontiac G6 GXP
Maybe...of course, big wings on cars aimed at the youth market are nothing new to Pontiac...how about what they offered in '70? (I'll admit to being a total modernist on most all things automotive, but those oldies sure have great style, IMHO).

How to buy American
Ugh... compacts with automatics...what an awful combination.

First Look: 2008 Pontiac G6 GXP
Maybe Pontiac was stung by the reception of the subtle GTO and are applying some retro like their '70s and '90s styling themes...the '70 GTO Judge with it's wing and hood scoops and '70s Trans Ams weren't exactly subtle, nor were the '90s T/As and Grand Ams...
