  1. It would be nice to see a Cadillac competitive with this.
  2. Very clean, conservative, tasteful, as a Lexus should be...I bet it will have the best resale value in it's class as well. As far as the interior, I like the gauges especially...
  3. I suspect the exterior is very close to production, though smaller wheels will be likely. The exterior looks production-ready to me (unlike the Camaro concept, which looks way more wild concept than production-ready).
  4. Looks very good..I see Buick is continuing the VW theme they started with the Lucerne ..the Enclave rear end (esp. the taillights) shows a Touraeg influence, IMHO...
  5. Agreed on the Accord...it's way more space-efficient, nice interior, and modern engine and transmission.
  6. I suspect they would raise the roof also..the concept has an odd chop-top look to it in profile..
  7. Nah, it was all-ugly all the time...esp. in garish colors like yellow and orange...
  8. Interesting concept...but could a production version remotely look like that?
  9. It's definite improvement over the Durango (which may be the ugliest vehicle out there now, with the demise of the Asstek...)
  10. I'd go for the Lucerne...more modern platform, more luxury, more goodies, and the Northstar engine. Better package all-around... I'm 35 and could live with the Buick image.
  11. They have a 1-pager with photos of a concept car in silver with an illustration of an interior...strong '69 styling cues inside and out... They claim the photos were taken at the GM Design center (look like a clay) the article says don't expect it before '08, likely to be on the Zeta platform w/ v8 and v6...
  12. Hong Kong is a different world from mainland China, though....Hong Kong has had decades of exposure to Japanese cars, Benzes, British cars, etc... personal ownership of a car is still a very new thing in much of China...
  13. There is a rendering on the cover and on page 20 of the Feb Automobile that looks very conceptual...not production material...dissapointing.
  14. It must be the contrast of color and the wall in the background, but the 3rd photo down looks like a photo of a scale model to me rather than of a 1:1 vehicle. The new 'Slade looks great, IMHO...but if I ever wanted to buy a full-size SUV, I'd have to go with a Suburban..it's the most honest.
  15. I kind of feel the same way.... esp. with the current generation, from certain angles, the Tahoe/etc look kind of squished lengthwise... the new one looks better... If I ever had a need for a full-size SUV, I'd have to go with the Suburban as in my mind it is the Real Thing, the least compromised, and the most honest.
  16. I can see the pics now... the more I see of the Yukon face, the less I like..I don't care for the vertical headlights...makes the front end look too tall, IMHO...the Tahoe/Burban front end is much nicer, IMHO.
  17. It's wierd..I tried both from home and at work and can't see those photos..the pics in the Suburban thread appear just fine.. I'm using Firefox.
  18. I see no photos in this thread..wierd... just a bunch of lines that say 'user posted image' in Josh's post.
  19. Looks great...bring on SS and Z06 versions... :)
  20. Isn't the current Astra platform the Delta platform? Or this a next-gen Astra platform different from Delta that is being discussed?

    .....

It's kind of a 'don't mess with success' thing...the Chrysler minivan styling has changed very little over the current and previous generation, so they just keep evolving rather than making radical change...radical change isn't needed since minivans aren't really a style-driven niche, more about function than style...
  22. It's a very tragic incident... that's a brutal, difficult job..I couldn't imagine working underground like that. I grew up in a coal-mining area of Eastern Ohio and my family has a history in coal mining--my grandfather on my mother's side owned a company that owned mines in SE Kentucky, and two of his sons (now retired) worked in the business managing mines in KY.

    .....

A toilet built into the driver's seat would be convenient for long drives.. though wiping and driving could be awkward...
  24. I think the constant red tag sale /value price stuff has hurt them, image-wise... GM is now perceived as the Wal-Mart of automakers....not necessarily aspirational cars and trucks but attractive because they are cheap...
