  1. The Lucerne is supposed to be the replacement for the LeSabre moreso (if at all) than for the Park Avenue. That would mean Buick is currently without a flagship sedan. Ven- am I on track here? [post="32217"][/post] Well, since the PA is gone, the Lucerne is the defacto flagship sedan now...(after all, the PA never was offered with a V8). The Lucerne effectively replaced the LeSabre and the PA... any other talk of a flagship to come is just specualtion at this point..
  2. I like Oasis, even if Liam is an egomaniac... my favorite of their older songs is probably 'Live Forever'. I like the new album, saw them last month at Red Rocks...gave a good show...saw them the day after I saw Green Day..interesting contrast. I also saw the Foo Fighters earlier this month..excellent show with Weezer.
  3. It's in keeping with their 'E' names for SUVs...also it's a reuse--IIRC there was an Avalanche-like show truck version of the Expedition called the Equator a few years ago..
  4. Seems plausable..though since the GMT360 platform is only 5 years old, I don't see why they don't just update it...
  5. It could be anything..nothing about those spy photos really indicates it's a Toyota..though what you can see of the grille through the disguise and wheels look Toyota like. I expect the next Tundra will look a lot like the Tacoma, just bigger. That one undisguised pic is of a 4Runner rear end, anyway.
  6. I put straight 85 in my Mustang and Jeep and 91 in the M3.
  7. Hmmm..the front end has strong Phaeton styling cues...(headlights, grille). I see some IS in the roofline.. The headlights are a definite improvement over the blobby headlights of the current LS, IMHO..
  8. DTC... (the 'S' in DTS is sedan). STC for a STS coupe, CTC for a CTS coupe, etc..
  9. Yeah, those all-gray interiors suck...they should be allowed only for rental cars. :) The Passats I've seen with a two-tone tan/charcoal interior with wood look very nice, IMHO.
  10. Sometime in the '60s I think for driver's side. There were cars sold into the '80s without passenger side mirrors. I couldn't imagine driving a car without side mirrors. I've driven some old cars with only a driver's side mirror, and it felt very awkward...
  11. I don't care for the front end, but I do like the profile and esp. the rear... looking forward to seeing it person..
  12. The round taillights have been a Skyline tradition for years.
  13. Heh-heh...maybe they can put a Camaro on the TB chassis to pacify all the BOF fans.. wait, they already tried that with the SSR..sort of.:)
  14. Yeah..probably something like how the next Escape will look..
  15. True, fattest nation on earth...and the Prius is cheap--$20k or so. It's a no more than the usual mainstream family sedan (Camry).
  16. I don't keep track of fuel mileage, but I know roughly the odo mileage---'00 Grand Cherokee, ~67k miles, '96 BMW M3, ~55k miles, '87 Mustang GT ~64k miles.
  17. I've seen lots of GCs on my trips to Europe..in London, Paris, Rome, Milan...mostly silver and dark blue. It's nice to see my daily driver in a non-familiar context. What's funny is that they look fairly compact in the States but on narrow streets of London or a twisty Italian road, they look huge! (Tahoes look even bigger..I saw a few in Italy and France). It's also interesting the difference in vehicle placement and perception in different markets..the GC is kind of a luxury niche product like a Land Rover in Europe while they are totally mainstream here. I've seen a few Cherokees and Wranglers also, but generally more GCs in Europe.
  18. Yeah, she's aged well...she was great at the Live 8 show, I thought. I'll take Madonna anyday over today's lightweight youth popsters (Britney Spears, etc..). (Then again, I was a teenager of the '80s, so I have a fondness for '80s music and musicians)...
  19. I hate most of GM's '80s and '90s interiors, but at least they usually had more colors than gray and tan. Pontiac interiors, esp. seemed overdone with hundreds of tiny buttons.. :) My favorite '90s GM interiors were the Cadillacs, esp. the Eldorado and Seville...also the Aurora and the last Riviera... I like the C6 interior, but the '80s C4 blocky dash with digital crap was hideous, IMHO...
  20. Yeah...I was having an internal debate with myself about a large luxury sedan or sports coupe when I bought the M3.....(I had a Mustang GT and a Bronco daily driver then). I had been thinking about it for a year and was engaged then...then broke up and treated myself to a BMW.. :) When I bought the Jeep, I was thinking large FWD luxury sedan, AWD sports sedan (A4), or SUV (my Bronco was dying) for a daily driver...I ended up going with a loaded Grand Cherokee, so I could get some luxury with the SUV capability and practicality for a daily driver..
  21. Well, different strokes for different folks, as they say... when I was 28, I bought a then-2yr old BMW M3... but I had come very close to buying an Aurora or a 2yr old Caddy STS at the time, believe it or not...thought seriously about an STS again when I was 30 but bought a Grand Cherokee instead.
  22. I saw an Envoy XUV tonight....maybe only the second one I've seen outside of a new car show.
  23. A few years ago, Navigators were the popular SUV with pro footballers (soccer players) and rappers in the UK... I've read that the Escalade is replaced the Navigator as the bling-bling wagon of choice... I saw two Escalades and 5 Navigators (2 were stretch limos) the last time I was in London...and a 1/2 dozen or so Tahoes in Italy.
  24. I'm all for full access to healthcare...why should someone be denied healthcare because they can't afford it? It's a basic human right, IMHO..
  25. Yes, along with dozens of baby cows for their leather. And some endangered species..
