This kid looks a lot like a classmate of mine circa 1980 or so...

Alternative Fuels & Propulsion RANDOM
Robert Hall replied to G. David Felt's topic in Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels
There are many things. -
The launch video from Stellantis I saw did not make any mention of a longer wheelbase, and they both appeared the same. Likewise for the Car & Driver articles on both. Which article are you referencing? Launch video: Car & Driver articles: https://www.caranddriver.com/jeep/wagoneer https://www.caranddriver.com/jeep/grand-wagoneer This article mentions that Motor Trend believes LWB versions of both could be coming later https://www.motor1.com/news/494206/extra-long-jeep-wagoneer-coming/
-
Yes, at initial launch, though, the W and GW are only available in the shorter wheelbase. I assume the LWB model will be call 'L' or 'XL'. Though 'Megabeast' would work also. The W/GW wheelbase is 123, longer than the Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade SWB models, so a LWB would probably be 130 or so?
-
My understanding is there is only 1 wheelbase. Grand is luxury trim. Closest GM analogy is Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are like Yukon and Yukon Denali.

I’ve read that early Connery closely resembled the Fleming character persona. I’ve never read the Fleming novels, but have read ones by various authors since the late 80s. Bond has had some interesting cars in the later novels, incl an ‘80s Bentley Turbo R and a Saab 900 Turbo. the 1954 version is on You Tube, I’ve watched it. Peter Lorre is the Le Chiffre character, and Jimmy not James Bond is an American.

The original was Barry Nelson in a 1954 tv adaptation of Casino Royale.

Scammers are one of the reasons I have a NO SOLICITATION sign on my door and cameras.

I just watched the 13+ min launch promotional video from Stellantis for the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer...very strange, not a single mention of Jeep or on screen during the video that I saw... love the interior..the outside is pretty blocky, though I like the front end. One idea I saw someone throw out on FB was that maybe Jeep is marketing Wagoneer as a sub-brand, kind of like how Range Rover is to Land Rover.

Gamma radiation. I can still remember the opening credits...Dr Banner was testing gamma rays, then had a flat tire on his Celica during a storm. Freaked out and became the hulk and flipped over his Celica. (from the 1970s Incredible Hulk TV series I watched as a kid).

The Wagoneers looks like they will be competitive with Ford and GM's beeg ones. Interesting detail I noticed is the lack of Jeep badging, odd to see them not emphasizing the brand. I'm looking forward to seeing the new Grand Cherokee 2 row, which hasn't been unveiled yet.

Drivers seat looks way back and reclined. That wouldn’t be comfortable driving w/ your head behind the B-pillar. -

Looks miserable in the despair potato. Some vehicles are just too small. -
The funny thing is some of the biggest 'cancelers' are the phony-ass 'Christian' right wing idiots with their constant calling of boycotts of anything and everything that 'offends' their delicate sensibilities...the mindless sheep that follow Faux News, etc.

Never realized the beds were so long on the old S10/S15s. They seem so tiny compared to modern trucks. -

^ ..and the R1T has an integral bed, if it were separate there would probably be extra length also. -

The R1T seems to between the mid-size and full-size trucks in dimensions. The OL is about 6 inches longer than a Ranger but 13-15 inches shorter than the shortest F150 Super Cab/Super Crew 4drs. -

Local rocker Michael Stanley passed away at age 72 of lung cancer...saw him in concert a couple times back in the early 90s. 'My Town' (about Cleveland) got some airplay on MTV in the '80s, remember the video from back then... https://www.cleveland.com/galleries/KUR7OQOEKVEIPNORS7XOSXPOWA/

The shortest of short beds on US market full sizers seems to be about 66 inches (5 1/2 feet) (F150). Even the mid sizers, the shortest seems to be 60 inches (5 feet). By comparison, the old Explorer Sport Trac had a bed which was 49.2 inches or 4.1 feet... -
It’s a boring cold late winters day. Spotted an Uplander panel van still at work. Haven’t seen one of these in ages.
