  2. Interesting..I'm surprised they instead haven't developed a coupe version of the Prius to appeal to the green youth market. The idea of the sporty RWD Toyota seems so odd, as the era of RWD Supras and Celicas seems long past.. Rob
  3. There is a maroon new TL at work..what's unusual is that I noticed today that they have painted the shield grille piece body color...looks better than the faux brushed aluminum they normally are, IMHO.
  4. Certainly an eye of the beholder thing. Some details of certain cars are quite ugly, IMHO, like the current Subaru Impreza WRX front end, or the Camry 'pig nose' grille, the Cube's grille, the vile Toyota Matrix front end, the Lincoln Navigator front end, the hideous Ford Super Duty and E-series van front ends (esp. the base black ones with old-timey headlights mounted low). But for all around ugliness in a single model, I'd probably have to go with the Element. Functional but soo ugly. Rob
  5. Never seen one of those. I have seen many Prius cabs here in Phx and in Denver. I've ridden in Toyota cabs twice--both in Honolulu--a clean late '90s Lexus LS400 and a ratty late '80s Corolla wagon.
  6. I remember reading about this car years ago in a book w/ b&w pics--the Jerry Titus '68 Firebird (actually a Camaro) Trans Am race car..has the Chevy 302. Maybe this car is part of the urban legend of the 'Canadian Firebirds'. '68 Firebird Race Car This does bring up an interesting question, though--were Firebirds sold in Canada from '67-69 and what was under the hood? Rob
  7. I remember back in the '70s-80s seeing a red '74 GTO near my folks' farm in Ohio, parked in a driveway. About 1986 or so it got hit hard in the rear, sat in the driveway another year or so..don't know what ever happened to it. I really liked the '73, another 1 year only GTO.
  8. When I click on the post, it shows it as 'C&G Top Articles'. It doesn't show it being in another forum...I figured 'C&G Top Articles' was a redirect to another forum, but it's just not apparent which one that is.. Rob
  9. The thread is marked 'CLOSED' now for some reason. Seems to be a duplicate anyway.
  10. I tried to reply to the thread that was recently added about the '11 Camaro convertible (the one added by JamesBond), and got this error message: Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information. The error returned was: Sorry, you do not have permission to reply to that topic Useful Links WTF??
  11. And I didn't even get in the pool. Too easy to sit in front of the tv with the laptop and surf while watching motorsport. And next weekend is the British GP. Going to get in some pool time, though. Having only laptops makes too much 'puting too easy. Got to step away from the keyboard and stop hibernating. Rob
  12. Perhaps one of the most violently ugly customs evar.. Porsche Attack
  13. Can't chime in if you don't know the thread exists to begin with.. . Maybe Premium Members can be automatically subscribed to anything posted in the Council forum and get email notifications. Rob
  14. Same here...I use VNP pretty much exclusively. I don't recall that thread at all. Rob
  15. Interesting..didn't even know that forum existed until recently. Rob
  16. Interesting...I thought that 'Council' forum was only for the admins/moderators to do their thing. Rob
  17. Hopefully, Buick will be more tasteful in badging their Hybrid SUV than GM did with the lame GMT-900 faux-Hybrids with their dozen or so badges, decals, etc..
  18. I'd consider a Camaro or CTS. Since I don't do FWD, there isn't much for me at GM, unfortunately. Nothing to compare to Jeeps, either...looking forward to the '11 GC. I'm sad to see the G8 and Kappas go, they were worthy products that deserved a future, IMHO.
  19. Well, with Saturn out of the picture, something has to take the place of the Vue. If they sufficiently differentiate it from the Terrain (the way the Enclave differs from the Acadia), then it could work..
  20. Neither did I...I heard nothing about this beforehand. Rob
  21. Can't compare a G3 with a '60s Parisienne or Laurentian, though...the G3 is just a Daewoo w/ a Pontiac badge. The '60s Canadian big Pontiacs actually looked much the same as the US versions but with different names and Chevy dirty bits. Pretty interesting part of Pontiac history, actually. The Beaumonts and Acadians, though, were Chevys with a little Pontiacish trim. In the Ford world, Canadian Monarchs and Meteors (Monarchs were shorter lived) were pretty interesting--US Mercury bodies, Ford-based interiors, some unique trim pieces, but separate brands between Ford and Mercury in Canada. I recall seeing an early '70s Meteor Rideau in Florida in the '80s, some Ontario retiree driving down there..
  22. I've seen a couple of Beaumonts in Michigan and Ontario years ago, neat cars...saw a '67 and '68, looked like Chevelles with Pontiac-ish grille and taillight treatments, w/ Pontiac dashes.
  23. White, red interior. Matching white trim on the hubcaps.
  24. That's lame..Canadian Pontiacs certainly look much the same as American Pontiacs, though they have Chevy dirty bits underneath. One thing I've wondered about regarding Canadian Pontiacs--there were the midsize (Beaumont) and compact (Acadian) models--but those were considered separate brands, not Pontiacs, apparently, or so I've read. So there were no Pontiac-engined midsize models sold in Canada in the '60s (i.e. no GTOs?). But I believe I've read Beaumont stopped after '69, so what did Canada have for midsize Pontiacs from then forward?
  25. Never said it wasn't Canadian. The Parisienne 2+2 was available in Canada through '70, I think. There is a really sharp silver blue '64 Parisienne convertible in Denver, I've seen it several times over the last few years.
