  1. I tried to reply to the thread that was recently added about the '11 Camaro convertible (the one added by JamesBond), and got this error message: Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information. The error returned was: Sorry, you do not have permission to reply to that topic Useful Links WTF??
  2. And I didn't even get in the pool. Too easy to sit in front of the tv with the laptop and surf while watching motorsport. And next weekend is the British GP. Going to get in some pool time, though. Having only laptops makes too much 'puting too easy. Got to step away from the keyboard and stop hibernating. Rob
  3. Perhaps one of the most violently ugly customs evar.. Porsche Attack
  4. Can't chime in if you don't know the thread exists to begin with.. . Maybe Premium Members can be automatically subscribed to anything posted in the Council forum and get email notifications. Rob
  5. Same here...I use VNP pretty much exclusively. I don't recall that thread at all. Rob
  6. Interesting..didn't even know that forum existed until recently. Rob
  7. Interesting...I thought that 'Council' forum was only for the admins/moderators to do their thing. Rob
  8. Hopefully, Buick will be more tasteful in badging their Hybrid SUV than GM did with the lame GMT-900 faux-Hybrids with their dozen or so badges, decals, etc..
  9. I'd consider a Camaro or CTS. Since I don't do FWD, there isn't much for me at GM, unfortunately. Nothing to compare to Jeeps, either...looking forward to the '11 GC. I'm sad to see the G8 and Kappas go, they were worthy products that deserved a future, IMHO.
  10. Well, with Saturn out of the picture, something has to take the place of the Vue. If they sufficiently differentiate it from the Terrain (the way the Enclave differs from the Acadia), then it could work..
  11. Neither did I...I heard nothing about this beforehand. Rob
  12. Can't compare a G3 with a '60s Parisienne or Laurentian, though...the G3 is just a Daewoo w/ a Pontiac badge. The '60s Canadian big Pontiacs actually looked much the same as the US versions but with different names and Chevy dirty bits. Pretty interesting part of Pontiac history, actually. The Beaumonts and Acadians, though, were Chevys with a little Pontiacish trim. In the Ford world, Canadian Monarchs and Meteors (Monarchs were shorter lived) were pretty interesting--US Mercury bodies, Ford-based interiors, some unique trim pieces, but separate brands between Ford and Mercury in Canada. I recall seeing an early '70s Meteor Rideau in Florida in the '80s, some Ontario retiree driving down there..
  13. I've seen a couple of Beaumonts in Michigan and Ontario years ago, neat cars...saw a '67 and '68, looked like Chevelles with Pontiac-ish grille and taillight treatments, w/ Pontiac dashes.
  14. White, red interior. Matching white trim on the hubcaps.
  15. That's lame..Canadian Pontiacs certainly look much the same as American Pontiacs, though they have Chevy dirty bits underneath. One thing I've wondered about regarding Canadian Pontiacs--there were the midsize (Beaumont) and compact (Acadian) models--but those were considered separate brands, not Pontiacs, apparently, or so I've read. So there were no Pontiac-engined midsize models sold in Canada in the '60s (i.e. no GTOs?). But I believe I've read Beaumont stopped after '69, so what did Canada have for midsize Pontiacs from then forward?
  16. Never said it wasn't Canadian. The Parisienne 2+2 was available in Canada through '70, I think. There is a really sharp silver blue '64 Parisienne convertible in Denver, I've seen it several times over the last few years.
  17. Only thing I've seen this weekend interesting was the clean white '62 Caddy 4dr ht that's in my neighborhood...was out Friday night walking a couple dogs, saw it cruise by, though it definitely didn't sound like I would think a vintage Caddy should sound--it sounded more like my Dad's old John Deere tractor..must have had a bad exhaust or blown muffler.
  18. Here's an unfortunate '60s Pontiac-- a firetruck fell on this guy's '69 Firebird that was parked in his driveway Friday. Denver Post article
  19. Here's a pic of a '68 Pontiac 2+2..hard to find a pic of the ht, or a stock condition one.. I like a lot of '60s Pontiacs, esp. '68-69 GTOs and the '69 Grand Prix, and many of the earlier ones.
  20. 'restore' is the verb, 'restoration' is the noun. Don't think I've seen 'restore' used as a the noun before...
  21. Not much in classic car shows here--that's more of a winter thing here, it seems. The biggest car-related thing I've done this month was watching alot of the 24 hrs of LeMans race on Speed this weekend, watched the Turkish Grand Prix last weekend, going to watch the British Grand Prix next weekend. Fun, but too passive and fattening--beer, wings, and racing on a big screen tv
  22. The Soul is a distinctive little car...I like the name of the Cube (since I work in a cube) more than the styling. The Rondo and most small Kias seem to be dreadful little turds, IMHO. The Venza hatchback is add odd but interesting looking little car.
  23. Not bad...may have to pick up the CD. Listened to the snippets on iTunes, I like.
  24. The problem is, up until recent years, GM's mass market FWD generics have been subpar and mediocre when compared to the competition (Toyota, Honda) that the mainstream public loves....25+ years of mediocrity got GM into to the trouble it's in now.
  25. I saw a black NSX the other day with the licence plate 'RCKTMON'.
