  2. I'm not suggesting that my additions have to make sense (and they can do 3 valves per cylinder on a single camshaft.. it uses a forked rocker) it just has to have enough acronyms after the name to make the average BMW buyer feel like they got their money's worth. Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham 24 valve VVT-CIC EcoFlex 2-mode torque assist super turbo Or as BMW would spell it: e-760iLst xDrive M
  3. So what is going into the MY 2014 Impala? Is it RWD? A really great car? Inquiring minds need to know. Malibu iL
  4. They are already selling them in Europe and Australia now.
  5. Hyper, are you trying to claim that it was the pushrod engines that did GM in? It wasn't the faceless Saturn designs? If pushrods did GM into bankruptcy... why didn't it do the same to Ford? They were using the pushrod Vulcan in the Taurus right up until the crisis. The Mustang had a pushrod V6 up until last year. Keep in mind that to many non-car people, the 3800 was a selling point due to reliability and fuel economy.
  6. They are re-working the diesel already in production in other markets to meet U.S. emission standards.
  7. Sprint's device roadmap for the next quarter has been leaked. So, the Proton and the 3D are my choices in the timeframe. Any Windows 7 phone other than Arrive, which better is departed? A few androids and two blackberries.
  8. With V6 engines able to make as much power as the Northstar, though, one can argue that at this point, V8 engines aren't even "needed." "Desired," though, is a whole 'nother animal. Even the 12s that the Europeans have are for premium cache, as they have been for generations. It's something that Jaguar lost with the newest XJ in offering three V8s, two supercharged, one at a hotter tune. I at least say it wouldn't hurt to offer something with more than 8 cylinders. I was going for enough panache to go up against a V12 without actually being a V12.
  9. I've GOTTA try this sometime!
  10. I don't think a V12 is really needed... how about just a radically different V8? VVT Concentric Cam, pushrod, 3 valve per cylinder, variable displacement, turbo and super charged with 2-mode hybrid.
  11. Except for the A6 (no way... already dealt with VW repair bills before), those are all way too huge. You're heading completely the wrong way. He's a soccer dad without the kids. From a performance standpoint, the current CR-V suits him just fine with it's 160hp and 4-speed auto. The only thing he would want to add is heated seats. Goals are better reliability, equal or better fuel economy. He wouldn't even know what to do with a car that has double the horsepower and torque.
  12. Over sell memberships (volume) and hope that people don't use them.
  13. Sprint's device roadmap for the next quarter has been leaked. So, the Proton and the 3D are my choices in the timeframe.
  14. You missed the point. Look at the latest Z06 3 page ad and they talk abot the Z06 V8 They give the power rating, the torque and even the fact it uses Sodium filled valves. They make no mention as they do with most V6 and 4 cylinders the cam and valve count. My LNF turbo has often been stated as being a 24 valve DOHC. A 6-valve per cylinder turbo 4-banger would certainly be unique in today's market......
  15. I vote it's named the Cruze D-Eco
  16. Chevrolet Confirms Cruze Diesel for 2013 After months of speculation, we finally get word that the 2013 Cruze Diesel is a go!
  17. Chevrolet Confirms 2013 Cruze Diesel June 22, 2011 - Drew Dowdell, CheersandGears.com Confirming previous rumors, we can finally do the happy dance today as Chevrolet confirms the 2013 Cruze Diesel for production. The already efficient Cruze Eco currently is rated for 42mpg highway, a diesel version would push that number up close to 50mpg. GM Press Release: DETROIT – Chevrolet confirmed today it will add a diesel variant to the Cruze lineup in North America in calendar year 2013. Diesel versions of the Cruze are currently being sold in Europe. Additional details on the Cruze diesel for North American markets will be released at a later date. The diesel will bolster the already fuel-efficient Cruze lineup. Cruze Eco with a standard six-speed manual transmission, is the most fuel-efficient gas-powered/non-hybrid vehicle in America, with an EPA-rated 42 mpg on the highway. Cruze recorded a total of 24,896 sales in the United States in June, the fifth consecutive month sales have exceeded 20,000. The success of the Cruze has increased Chevrolet's total share of the compact-car segment from 9.5 percent a year ago to 11.9 percent for the first five months of 2011, even as the segment size grew 19 percent.
  18. My biggest concern is future performance. i'm finding that my old Hero is unable to really run some of the new app even though it is technically capable (the app starts and runs.... that's about it) I'm hoping to futureproof my phone for at least 22 months.
  19. I would be interested in watching stock car racing if the cars were in fact... stock.
  20. hyper - No one today knows what DOHC is because it hasn't been actively marketed in 15 years.
  21. Android ones have the hardware, but the software isn't quite done cookin yet.
  22. I'm hearing not so good things about the 3D also... I only wanted it for the processor power, I don't care about the 3d feature.
  23. The more I'm researching it... the more this just cinches the deal for me
  24. I always liked these with a bit of skirt in the rear.
