  1. I've GOTTA try this sometime!
  2. I don't think a V12 is really needed... how about just a radically different V8? VVT Concentric Cam, pushrod, 3 valve per cylinder, variable displacement, turbo and super charged with 2-mode hybrid.
  3. Except for the A6 (no way... already dealt with VW repair bills before), those are all way too huge. You're heading completely the wrong way. He's a soccer dad without the kids. From a performance standpoint, the current CR-V suits him just fine with it's 160hp and 4-speed auto. The only thing he would want to add is heated seats. Goals are better reliability, equal or better fuel economy. He wouldn't even know what to do with a car that has double the horsepower and torque.
  4. Over sell memberships (volume) and hope that people don't use them.
  5. Sprint's device roadmap for the next quarter has been leaked. So, the Proton and the 3D are my choices in the timeframe.
  6. You missed the point. Look at the latest Z06 3 page ad and they talk abot the Z06 V8 They give the power rating, the torque and even the fact it uses Sodium filled valves. They make no mention as they do with most V6 and 4 cylinders the cam and valve count. My LNF turbo has often been stated as being a 24 valve DOHC. A 6-valve per cylinder turbo 4-banger would certainly be unique in today's market......
  7. I vote it's named the Cruze D-Eco
  8. Chevrolet Confirms Cruze Diesel for 2013 After months of speculation, we finally get word that the 2013 Cruze Diesel is a go!
  9. Chevrolet Confirms 2013 Cruze Diesel June 22, 2011 - Drew Dowdell, CheersandGears.com Confirming previous rumors, we can finally do the happy dance today as Chevrolet confirms the 2013 Cruze Diesel for production. The already efficient Cruze Eco currently is rated for 42mpg highway, a diesel version would push that number up close to 50mpg. GM Press Release: DETROIT – Chevrolet confirmed today it will add a diesel variant to the Cruze lineup in North America in calendar year 2013. Diesel versions of the Cruze are currently being sold in Europe. Additional details on the Cruze diesel for North American markets will be released at a later date. The diesel will bolster the already fuel-efficient Cruze lineup. Cruze Eco with a standard six-speed manual transmission, is the most fuel-efficient gas-powered/non-hybrid vehicle in America, with an EPA-rated 42 mpg on the highway. Cruze recorded a total of 24,896 sales in the United States in June, the fifth consecutive month sales have exceeded 20,000. The success of the Cruze has increased Chevrolet's total share of the compact-car segment from 9.5 percent a year ago to 11.9 percent for the first five months of 2011, even as the segment size grew 19 percent.
  10. My biggest concern is future performance. i'm finding that my old Hero is unable to really run some of the new app even though it is technically capable (the app starts and runs.... that's about it) I'm hoping to futureproof my phone for at least 22 months.
  11. I would be interested in watching stock car racing if the cars were in fact... stock.
  12. hyper - No one today knows what DOHC is because it hasn't been actively marketed in 15 years.
  13. Android ones have the hardware, but the software isn't quite done cookin yet.
  14. I'm hearing not so good things about the 3D also... I only wanted it for the processor power, I don't care about the 3d feature.
  15. The more I'm researching it... the more this just cinches the deal for me
  16. I always liked these with a bit of skirt in the rear.
  17. my HTC Hero is on it's last legs. I am eligible for upgrade on Sept 1st and I plan to be at the sprint store that exact morning. So guys... HTC Evo 3D or Motorola Photon 4g
  18. wouldn't that be the 60s?
  19. Uh, actually they lost 3 HP switching from a pushrod V8 with more torque to a DOHC V6 with less. The fuel economy gain is entirely from the 4-speed to 6-speed switch. The 3.9 and 3.4 with a 6-speed would do even better.
  20. And you are still incorrect. Pushrod or DOHC has NOTHING to do with the loudness. GM's pushrod V8s are too loud? It's the CTS-V, Camaro SS and Corvette for crying... uhm... out loud! The market for those cars DEMANDS them to be loud. The LT-1 in the Fleetwood is quiet as a whisper. Same with the hemi in the non-SRT 300C. The DOHC V8 that is so quiet in the Lexus LS460 is also the loud DOHC V8 used in the IS-LNF whatever.... GM has been making V8s so quiet they can sneak up behind you since the late 40s....and they were ALL pushrods.
  21. that's nice and all, but we want to see the mo-hawk on the mo
  22. more about the sparkless ignition one please....
  23. only ones that had to be promptly taken down for violation of terms of service.
  24. A Park Avenue aimed at Lexus and Acura 20 years ago? . That would make no sense now with the recently departed Lucerne. Now at least the current LaCrosse can safely (and correctly) be cross-shopped with an ES350 and a TL, maybe an RL. In 1991, $24k bought you the ES250 (tarted up Camry) with 156hp 2.5 V6 and about 7 lb-ft of torque... or...you could stroll over to the Buick dealer and pick up the new for 1991 Park Ave with 170hp and a LOT more torque and a lot more room, comfort, and "presence" If you are thinking the Lexus LS400 - well that was more Cadillac Sedan Deville, Cadillac Seville, or Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham territory... all of which were getting their redesigns in another year or two.
