  1. Back to the actual cars, I'd have no fear of a granny car. If you're fine driving an H-body or W-body, I'd just look for a new one of those to beat around in for now.
  2. So... no chopping competition then?
  3. What do you think guys, a contest to chop up some inspiration for Buick?
  4. Why no to the wax?
  5. That ION is showroom clean. but... dust?
  6. I couldn't buy a subcompact. They just don't have the ride I like.
  7. They still have many holes in their car lineup. Other than compact trucks, they don't really have any holes in their truck lineup.
  8. I'm also assuming you're going to be moving to a new apartment soon and will need the requisite upgrade in furniture and appointments for that. Save up some cash now and buy something older... like another LSS as previously suggested, or a Bonneville, or Park Ave, or Fleetwood. It sounds like cosmetic issues aside, the LSS starts and runs every day. Fix any outstanding mechanical issues. A replacement mirror for an LSS is $24 on ebay plus shipping. and just keep driving it until you have the cash for some super sweet Ebay or Craigslist deal near you.
  9. 2012 Opel Astra GTC Rendered Today, GM took the wraps off the new 2012 Opel Astra GTC sport hatch through virtual renderings. Slated for a full reveal on June 7th, this gives us an early look at what to expect beyond the concept version shown at the Paris Motor Show previously. Follow the jump for more: 2012 Opel Astra GTC Renderings Released
  10. Can you say Buick Skylark?
  11. I wouldn't buy new. I would buy certified pre-owned. Let someone else take the depreciation hit.
  12. Ford Reports $2.6 Billion 2011 First Quarter Net Income Ford Reports $2.6 Billion 2011 First Quarter Net Income
  13. Perhaps, but using which platform? Kappa was based on the Corvette's Y-body (at least conceptually) making it extremely inflexible. GM would require a) to develop or redevelop such a platform, or b) adapt the smaller RWD architecture (Alpha) for such a vehicle. I think that dynamically both solutions would work equally well, so the choice comes down to cost: where does GM get the biggest margin from? A small sporty coupe needs to be light, though...I doubt if Alpha (if it ever sees production) will be very light..(maybe at least 3500lbs?) The lower end of the Alpha size range is supposed to be very light.
  14. As soon as Toyota kills the XD it will be fixed. It's not our fault that Toyota named a car after an emoticon.
  15. Yaris, Versa, Fit, Fiesta, Sonic, Accent, xD, Rio... what am I missing
  16. and I thought I was a masochist.
  17. But an SUV can still be a fun car.
  18. The 300C-SRT8 and a CTS-V Wagon for the wifey.
  19. I get a stupid grin on my face every time I drive my '81 Toronado. "Fun" doesn't always have to be apexing a corner... something that would be completely beneath my car's dignity. Fun can often times having little kids in the next car over mouthing "wow" when you glide by.
  20. Executive for me with a V8... but that's a tough choice over the SRT-8.
  21. Looks wise, it does nothing for me. I think the made a bit of a mess of the front that was originally one of the most handsome on the market. But that powertrain.....
  22. I disagree with the premise that a daily car can't be a fun car and a fun car can't be a daily car.
  23. I really enjoyed my week with the Volt. The only issue I had with the car (the touch sensitive center stack) had nothing to do with the powertrain. I'd love to build an OldsmoboVolt if I hit the powerball.
  24. You can actually feel and see the grain in the wood of the Executive Series. It's not just that it is satin.
