  1. I paid for my computer games with a job at Egghead Software... yes, I really was (am) an Egghead.
  2. I didn't say otherwise. ICE is the more financially competitive option as long as gas prices stay low. Battery prices would have to fall that much further just to keep up.
  3. I vote Fiat, Alfa, Lancia. Combine Renault and Nissan into a simple rebadge brand (based off Renaults). Nissan can use rebodied Rams for the truck and SUVs. Keep the Z and the GTR. Dunno what to do with Mitsubishi... it doesn't do well in the US but it sells in emerging markets. Maybe convert it to Datsun and kill it in the US.
  4. well yes... but it was in reference to Lincoln using nautical and aeronautical terms for its naming scheme.
  5. There's also the issue of oil prices dropping ahead of another recession that will keep ICE competitive longer.
  6. I vary on oil changes. Sometimes I do it myself, sometimes I take it to a shop. It usually just depends on the weather and on how busy I am. If I use the dealership, sometimes I just drive it down myself and work from there because even though I have pickup and dropoff, getting that setup can sometimes be a scheduling issue. When it works though, it works nice.
  7. From the Press Release, I know it doesn't say much.
  8. It will, naturally. It's just that a RWD profile tends to look more premium.
  9. It's a nice thing I have with my Buick.
  10. I think it has a great looking profile. Even though we know it's not RWD, it looks like it could be.
  11. Now Genesis will do all of that with Concierge pickup too.
  12. That much I don't know. I know that Sergio was their designated spokesman and he largely did what they wanted, which was expand the Italian brands.
  13. the Agnelli Family is the only reason Fiat (the brand) is still alive today.
  14. Lincoln has released a teaser video and picture to generate some buzz head of the NY International Auto Show in 3 weeks. The Lincoln Corsair will take over for the Lincoln MKC when it goes on sale late this year. Two of the engine options will carry over, the 2.0T and 2.3T ecoboost 4-cylinders, but a plug-in hybrid variant will bow in as well. The Corsair fills in the entry level of Lincoln's SUV lineup, but if it is anything like the Aviator and Navigator, it will greatly up the ante on interior appointments and luxury. Corsair is a nod to the nautical and aviation naming theme that Lincoln is using for its SUVS. Corsair is unique in that is has been used both for boats and planes. View full article

  16. It makes it easier to deduct on taxes as well. I think 3 years is the most popular lease option. There isn't a lot of 5-year leasing out there.
  17. Genesis has introduced Spectrum all-inclusive leasing. While not a subscription service like Volvo's Care or Book by Cadillac , Spectrum does include insurance and all maintenance for 3 years. Subscription leasing services main draw is the ability of the leasee to switch vehicles at some point during the lease. Genesis Spectrum covers the following: 3 years/36,000 miles of complimentary scheduled maintenance 3 years/36,000 miles complimentary Service Valet 3 years of complimentary Genesis Connected Services, including Enhanced Roadside Assistance, Destination Search powered by Voice and Remote Start with climate control 3 years of complimentary SiriusXM® Travel Link (Data Services) 3 years of complimentary Annual Multimedia and Navigation Updates Up to $1,525 allowance for excess wear and use, excess mileage, and disposition fee for returning Genesis Finance customers Genesis is striking a balance between the car subscription services, which have questionable financial viability, and traditional basic leasing. Genesis Spectrum will be available first in Florida and then roll out to select markets nationwide. View full article

  19. That's probably the case for my Encore. I had to buy new. Now, the good thing is they lasted me about 80,000 miles in the first place, so I couldn't really be mad about it.
  20. Financial Times is reporting that Renault wants to make the marriage to Nissan more official and formally merge. Renault wants to start talks within the next 12 months and include a potential bid for automaker FCA . The combined companies of Nissan, Renault, Fiat, and Chrysler would be a conglomerate that rivals the size of Toyota and Volkswagen. Carlos Ghosn tried to start merger talks prior to his arrest for financial wrongdoing, however, the French government stopped his proposals. Renault currently owns roughly 43% of Nissan. FCA has recently been in the news for potential talks with Peugeot to merge. Those reports were squashed when it came to light that the Agnelli family, who has a controlling stake in FCA, was not interested in a deal that was paid for with PSA stock. View full article

  22. Why confused @balthazar. 7 main bearings > 4 main bearings, plus less vibration from imbalance = better longevity everything else being equal.
  23. I6 is better than V6.... especially for longevity
