  1. People like to travel in luxury cars. That means they need more than 100 miles of range
  2. I get it, you don't like my headline, but that's the way I see it and that's the way I wrote it. I'd say the same thing if the only CT6 available for 2019 was the 3.0TT Platinum model. I don't think I'm being deceptive.
  3. I'm no Lexus fanboi, but these have always been a joy to drive. I don't care what the torque numbers suggest, they are delivered well.
  4. It doesn't get much press, but the EV charging infrastructure is expanding constantly. There is a bit of a race on among the main providers to expand and I think one or two of them may expand too fast and get into financial difficulties.
  5. The entry price for a Model-S just went up by $18,000... I don't think that is misleading. It's not the first time it has happened either has Telsa has previously raised prices by dropping the entry models without lowering the prices on the models above it. Imagine if Chevy stopped offering all trims of Camaro under the SS.... wouldn't you say that they raised the price of entry?
  6. I've always wondered what the fancy ones with the LED light piping cost. That price is highway robbery. I got new headlight clusters for the Honda for less than $100 each off eBay and they fit and worked perfectly.
  7. Tesla had the "least bad" in sales results aside from Lexus (LS was way up due to the prior model being a partial year in 2017) and the Porsche Panamera. A8 was down nearly 50%, S90 was down 19.4%, Q70 was down 22.7%, 7-series was down 10%, E-class was down 9.5%, S-Class was down 5.7%. I'm thinking that Tesla is hoping to make it up in Model-3 Performance volume.
  8. The Cadillac's tire needs some air.
  9. Another Nissan exec who is in hot water resigned suddenly today. Jose Munoz is Nissan's Cheif Performance officer. He and Arun Bajaj, Nissan's Senior Vice President for Human Resources took leaves of absence one week ago. Both men are considered loyal to Carlos Ghosn, leader of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, who is currently jailed in Japan on multiple corruption charges. Nissan has moved to oust Ghosn after his arrest. We will update this story as more details emerge. View full article

  11. It's Jan 11th. They have plenty of time still. The XT6 that will be shown on Sunday will be on sale later this year. Definitely no on the Silverado, they showed it supporting 7-passenger SUVs but no trucks. While I don't think it will go into Corvette, an EV sports car could be done.
  12. It sounds like it is a platform for all of GM, it's just that Cadillac is getting it first.
  13. also... thanks for getting Yakety Sax stuck in my head.
  14. Ugh... I'm going to need to do the same on my Encore. We need to get your engine bay to a power wash.
  15. I"m mostly interested in how flexible the platform is supposed to be. They didn't show any trucks, but apparently, they showed 11 different possible configurations.
  16. you just do better in more upright vehicles then...
  17. We should start to see the first ones this year.
  18. That's where I see Tesla getting (back?) into trouble. If Mercedes EQ comes out with the same EV performance as a Model-X but still has a Mercedes interior for the same price, where does Tesla go then? At that point, the only thing they have left is a name-brand advantage (even over Mercedes, it is slight, but it is there). The next refresh of the Model-S needs to focus heavily on the interior quality.
  19. The most technologically advanced, fast, efficient, capable, minimal maintenance, and free fillups availabe..... all in one package. No ICE powered car can match that.
  20. Definitely. The luxury is all in the powertrain, not in the interior.
  21. Which fits you better. Model S or Bolt?
  22. yeah, I already added it to the list above and William has the story up.
  23. During GM's earnings call today, GM announced that a new, highly flexible, EV architecture is on the way and that Cadillac will be at the center of the release. The architecture, called BEV3, is said to be highly flexible, being able to be configured from small sedans to large crossover formats, and front-wheel, rear-wheel, or all-wheel drive configurations. GM is targeting a sweet spot of 300 mile in range according to GM CEO Mary Barra. GM is going to continue its development of autonomous technology. It currently offers SuperCruise automated driving on the flagship CT6 sedan and plans to expand that technology across the Cadillac lineup. Late last year, GM announced that it would be canceling two of its plug-in hybrid vehicles in a slew of cutbacks in the sedan segment.
