  1. I just think the prior models were more striking.
  2. No, EVs won't drop below ICEs... but ICE pricing will be nudged upwards providing the same effect.
  3. Sorta, the Explorer is enough wider to matter.
  4. I have never been into sports cars. My parents always bought obscure shitboxes growing up, Fiat Wagon, VW Type III Squareback, Subaru GL Wagon, Dodge Colt Vista Wagon. I was enamored by the big GM land yachts of the time because they had power windows, power antenna, air conditioning, and doors that sounded like a bank vault. The Cadillac Seville and Eldorado looks like something old-school movie stars from the '30s might drive today (today being 1983). The fascination stuck, and here I am today,
  5. The GLS is a luxury Dodge Durango. 2018 Dodge Durango Spec Height 70.9 in. Width 75.8 in. Length 201.2 in.
  6. I found the issue and fixed it. Because we have several hundred sub-forums, there is no easy way to check each and every one. If you encounter it again, just send me a PM and I'll fix it.
  7. I have applied a potential fix. Please let me know how it works.
  8. Already happened in the CR-V. The Encore had a damaged and clogged Catalytic converter replaced under warranty over the summer. If I lived in a different location but with the same work situation, I would absolutely switch over to an EV as soon as one was built that I liked the looks of. I still want my luxury goodies. If I were buying today, I'd probably aim for an ELR because I can't afford a CT6 PHEV. But Albert would never let me get something impractical like that.
  9. I've been in my 60s since I was 5 years old... at least in regards to my taste in cars. These were my first loves as a kid
  10. This is the right size car for me.
  11. eGolf is limited production. Nissan builds every Leaf they can build. That's the difference.
  12. You should have access to post there. I'll check what's up with that in the morning. Please understand that not every bug is a slight against you personally. Just pm me and I'll take care of it.
  13. Get ‘em before the Navigator gets here and eats their lunch
  14. Exactly... No one here has said that it is as completely easy as owning a gasoline car. I personally have stated that owning an EV requires changing one's thinking about how and when one fills up. Changing a way of thinking is clearly a challenge for some people, and thus makes it not as easy as going to a gas station.
  15. No one here has made that claim. The most any of us have claimed is that it is getting easier than before at a steady rate.
  16. Glad you're okay @Frisky Dingo
  17. Another update: I've narrowed it down to happening only in very specific scenarios. It no longer appears to be caused by the ads, it appears the ads' failure to load is a symptom of an issue with the programming of the software. I have opened a ticket with the software provider.
  18. I mean... when this gets rolled out somewhere, how long till the click bait headline about a couple getting caught having sex in the back of an autonomous driving car?
  19. I can't imagine the taxi industry being in charge. The last time I took a taxi here in Pittsburgh (probably the last time ever) was before Uber came to town. I remember that ride vividly. It was a 350K+ mile Impala with bad wheel bearings, probably an out of balance tire, and every idiot light on the dashboard screaming like a christmas tree. Taxis in NYC are beat to crap also, but those drivers get you there fast and know all of the routes to avoid traffic. Even WAZE isn't more up to date on traffic than an NYC cabbie.
  20. gah... I just realized something else thanks to @oldshurst442 I ride the bus here in Pittsburgh sometimes... I take subways in other cities. People are disgusting on public transit. I can't count the number of times I've declined to sit in a seat because someone spilled something all over it. At least in an Uber, if someone hurls on the seat, the driver will stop and have the car cleaned before picking up the next fare.
  21. I disagree with both of you. I think @Cubical-aka-Moltar and I are kinda on the same page. Machines are often left to run at sub-optimal for extended periods of time. While we may not consider it fully broken down because it can still do some work, it is not working as designed or even less likely as intended. How often do people run around with check engine lights on or half flat tires? They'll just let it go because they can't be bothered to fix it even if it is just stopping at a gas station to put air in the tire. As Cubi said, machines are designed by imperfect humans.... but much more worrisome is that they're often operated by lazy morons.
  22. Now that I'm almost an old man, I should be in the target market for this.... but it just kinda looks like what a next generation Taurus might look like from the front.
  23. I have less of an issue with road conditions... I have an issue with sensors being fouled out. I was using active cruise in a Lincoln a few years ago during a snow storm and at one point the cruise gave up because the sensor was iced over. People are not going to be able to rely on automated cars for any poor weather driving for a long time.
