  1. Would this be a practical thing for drivers of classics?
  2. Wow... a subject that SMK, Cubical, and I can all agree on completely..... the desire for the return of the stand up hood ornament from Cadillac.
  3. GM has pretty much clipped off torque steer completely with Hy-per strut.... but that doesn't tell us what a high powered Chrysler FWD car would do. I actively avoid the Chrysler 200/Dodge Avenger, and that, in V6 form, would be the most powerful FWD car they offer
  4. w. t. f.
  5. Can I get a converter kit to fuel my '81? It doesn't have fuel injection, it's just a 4-barrel carb. I ask this as a question leading up to another question.
  6. I like the softer ride of the XTS, but in the V-Sport you can firm it up with the touch of a switch. The CTS does handle better and feels lighter, but not enough to matter to me in every day driving. I love the look of both.
  7. Imagine the torque steer on a 270 hp Dart also, unless it was AWD, in which case the gas mileage will suck. ... it would be the same as any other 270 hp front driver.... not sure what the fact that it is a Dart has anything to do with it.
  8. I know... I just don't think AWD is on the table for that one.
  9. Could? Sure. Will? Probably not for a few more years.
  10. Thank you for that compliment. I do try to hold us to a higher standard of writing. All of our reviews go through a multi-person editing process before we publish.
  11. It should be pretty easy to do a 3.2 TT High Output and a 3.2T Standard Output
  12. If it were my $60k... I admit, I would have a hard time choosing between the CTS V-Sport and XTS V-Sport.
  13. A Passat with the Malibu's 2.0 would do fine... the Malibu has 259hp and 295 lb-ft. The VW 2.0T only has 210hp and 207 ft-lbs.
  14. I feeling something may have been lost in translation..... I can't see them putting a V6 in the Dart.... a Dart platform Avenger maybe... but not the Dart itself.
  15. 2.0t as a mid-range motor maybe, but their 2.0 doesn't have the guts to be a v6 replacement
  16. It's a shame that GM was never able to bring their HCCI engine to market. They had prototypes running back in 2008. This Hyundai engine sounds very similar to the GM HCCI.
  17. hahah BMW really screwed the pooch with their naming scheme.
  18. eh.... somewhere along the way MB forgot how to rust-proof their vans for the North American market. They don't hold up well here.
  19. Not a bad idear.... but I'm thinking they might be better off doing a turbo 2.5 to replace the N/A 3.6. The 2.5 is very smooth for a large 4-banger.
  20. The key for Cadillac in the EU is diesel engines and a vastly upgraded dealership channel. Buick is an aspirational brand in China, but they are also selling a rebadged old Opel Astra as the Buick Excelle XT for about $15000 while our Buick Verano is sold as the Buick Excelle GT for about $21,000, so though they are aspirational, they are also attainable.
  21. Lexus has only recently tried to crack into the European market. In China, Lexus has a bigger uphill battle due to a little fight China and Japan had 70 years ago. Cadillac has more potential for global growth than Lexus does for these two reasons alone.
  22. As is the Nissan NV and the Ford Transit Connect..... why wouldn't Benz want a piece of that pie?
  23. Sure it does... the same way that Cadillac and Chevrolet appear on the same monthly sales report.
  24. It's business...M-B is a full line auto and truck maker.. Why not use the Freightliner brand?
  25. The Encore lacks direct injection and some displacement, but it moves ok. Buick is still selling more than they expected.
