  1. I have no idea why, but that seems necessary. Happy birthday!
  2. Montana went to Clinton in '92 (thanks most to Ross Perot) and has polled for Obama before. Rasmussen had Obama +5 in July, and within 8 earlier in October. North Dakota has been going back and forth.
  3. The last debate was a great drinking game if you took a shot every time "Joe the Plumber" was mentioned.
  4. Cerebrus just offered to trade me Chrysler for our Prius, one of the dogs (the annoying one) and $1300.
  5. I was banned from GMS for offering free rusty trombone lessons. And for being a parody of Josh.
  6. I was talking with the VP of my division on the way out to the parking lot today, we stopped by my car. He watched me unlock it then said, "I know you took a paycut, but I thought we paid you better than this."
  7. Both went for Clinton in '96.

    Opinions?

Take it, rape it for anything you might be able to use, sell it as a parts car.
  9. A landslide is definitely possible. McCain is still stumping hard, so we'll see what happens. Palin is going to be in town on Friday. Tickets sold out so fast that they had to move her appearance from a university gym (a rather small one, I've been in it once and it was roughly the same size as a large high school gym) to the Bass Pro parking lot.
  10. Not my son's fault (I assume) but my freaking computer took a massive dump today. My desktop is out of commission and I am freaking pissed. Windows wouldn't load, so I ran system restore, now Windows loads but I cant do a freaking thing, it tells me my desktop isn't accessible. I am about ten minutes away from buying an iMac.
  11. Obama has Kerry's 252 electoral votes in the bag. He needs 18 to win. Lets look at states Bush won where Obama is polling ahead: Virginia-13ev North Carolina-15ev Florida-27ev Ohio-20ev Iowa-7ev Missouri-11ev Colorado-9ev New Mexico-5ev Nevada-5ev Iowa in 2004 seems to have been an anomaly, its 7 electoral votes are all but guaranteed for Obama. Colorado+New Mexico+Nevada is the hard way to pick up the remaining 11 he needs. The point is, if Obama wins Virginia (polls close at 7 eastern), its all over, might as well go to bed early.
  12. Yeah, I was hoping that would make more sense in the morning. It doesn't.
  13. When did the Mercury Sable get new wheels?
  14. Uggg...the Eldo was gone last night, but I've moved on....to this. I drive by it often (its a few houses down from my ex's place, so anytime I drop my son off or pick him up, I see it) but now I know how much they want for it.
  15. Obama ads outnumber McCain ads like 50-1 around here. And its being reported that McCain is pulling out of Colorado. As far as election night goes, we should have a pretty good idea pretty early. If Obama wins Virginia and North Carolina, its as good as over for McCain. I'm going to be a poll worker, so I'll be checking exit polls on my cell phone anytime I can. Should be a fun day.
  16. The inner-workings of my brain: First instinct--Say "You dont know what you're missing" Second instinct--Wow, thats in poor taste Third instinct--
  17. I haven't been able to find anything for my LeSabre at any local junkyards. I did see a Pontiac Safari in a KFC parking lot yesterday and thought about stealing it for the parts I could use.
  18. I think we all know my answer to the age-old age question: If there's grass on the field.... (I'm going to prison, aren't I?)
  19. Colin Powell just endorsed Obama. Not just a little endorsement, but he is completely ripping McCain apart.
  20. People just need to refrain from forcing their religious views on everyone else. There are some 40 organized religions worldwide and thousands of years of human history, human research and human religious fights, anyone who says with absolute certainty that theirs is the "right" one is a buffoon.
  21. Already got the 80's gas guzzler which looks odd in the driveway next to the Prius. I think that to pull this off I'm going to have to appeal to the romanticism of owning a big, old convertible for those midsummer drives to nowhere.
  22. You can keep your Wawa, I'll stick with my Kum n Go.
  23. There is a '71 Eldorado for sale in the Wal-Mart parking lot, $5000. Its red with a tan top and red leather interior. The body is really straight, the interior is in great shape, only problem I see is the rear window on the passenger side is down and I dont know why. I want it and I could probably talk my way into being permitted to buy it, but I'd have to find someone to give me a loan for at least part of it and someplace to store it.
  24. Bible thumpers need to start thumping this bible, so we cant see what they're thumping. Thump! (I like that word) Thump!

    Weddings....

Ugggg....today is the day. I still haven't come up with a good reason to not go. I'm thinking a "work emergancy" is going to pull me away from the reception because the Mizzou-Texass game starts at 7, so does Game 6 of the ALCS, both of which are more important to me than hanging out with a bunch of people I dont particularly like. Plus, no open bar. Ok, I was wrong, they did have an open bar, but it wasn't enough to keep me around that long. We went to the wedding then spent a couple hours at the reception. Enough time or me to catch up with people I haven't seen in a while (the bride is friends with my sister and she and I were close in high school, and I used to work with the groom's dad) and show off my fiancee, then leave.
