  1. I haven't had grits in like 10 years. Maybe I'll go to Waffle House and get some later.
  2. Ugggg...Greek food...just thinking about it makes me want to vomit then drink a gallon of Scope.
  3. Everyone loves pie.
  4. I ran out of diapers and my kid just pooped. Not sure what that has to do with anything (other than pointing out that I'm a pretty awful parent) but I put in in here anyways, because now I have a negative number of diapers (0 clean-1 dirty=-1) and this thread is about negativity perhaps?
  5. I just stood with 40,000 other people in most red district (PVI R+14) in a red state to hear Obama speak. Getting that many people out in a conservative district on a Saturday night tells me that Obama has quite a bit of "common man" appeal.

    Early voting?

My absentee ballot was filled put a while ago. Lots of stuff on it, all the normal races (the same two guys run for County Commissioner every 2 years, the County Coroner always run unopposed) plus several amendments and propositions. Standing in line is for suckers.
  7. Have you read the new proposal? He's going to mandate all pillarless hardtops be retrofitted with a b-pillar and have the rear window glued in place.
  8. So the common man cheats on his disabled, disfigured wife with a millionaire beer heiress? I find it impossible to believe that anyone who is the son (and grandson) of an admiral has had a tough life. Especially compared to a guy raised by his mother and grandparents. Obama didn't have connections to get into Columbia or Harvard Law.
  9. Pontiac is....still pretty dull
  10. I think just about anyone with a brain realizes that they'll still have to pay their mortgage. Unless McCain gets elected, because he wants to buy your mortgage then re-mortgage your house, making the government eat the difference.
  11. We've typically got some of the lowest gas prices in the country. In fact, southwest Missouri has an insanely low cost of living by just about any measure. But the weather is schizophrenic, jobs can be a bitch to find and culture is non-existent. Edit: Gasbuddy has one station at $1.92 and a couple at $1.93.
  12. $1.94
  13. BMW 534567890 ryxdnmai wagon (actually just a 530 xi, but damn thats a lot of stuff on the trunk lid) '57 Bel Air
  14. Voting to keep someone out of public office due to race is far more vile than voting to put someone in a public office due to race. An entire electorate has to be won over to win a primary, and not everyone who voted for Obama is black (I know this because I voted for him in the primary and I'm about as white as can be) so you cannot say that he got where he is by luring blind faith race voters in. People believe he is qualified to be president and will be a good leader for our country, thats how he beat Clinton in the primaries. People didn't come out in droves to vote for Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton when they ran for president, that leads me to people see Obama as more than a black presidential candidate.
  15. I will dub anyone who refuses to vote for McCain because he's white as useless to society.
  16. Obama owns one house, a lot of media outlets provided it as a counter to the news about McCain's 8 houses. McCain banned Joe Klein from his press plane. It happens on both sides.
  17. I'm just wondering how a man with $200k+ invested in cars and millions invested in houses can be the "common man" candidate as others have called him. Common people have been struggling with making their mortgage payments (yes, its their own fault for getting those mortgages) and they dont have a vacation house in Coronado in case their vacation house in La Jolla gets foreclosed. McCain doesn't seem to understand the the price of milk, eggs, bread and condoms all went up when the price of gas went up, and thats what gave people who weren't having mortgage issues a big problem. I was just asking how John McCain understands what regular people are going through because it has been said by at least one member who has posted in this thread that he does.
  18. Other than a mandatory bowtie, I dont think it could have been. But, just to prove I'm not completely heartless, the guy that ruined everything (a competent but poorly trained individual) was going to be $h! canned until I convinced the powers that be to let him learn how to do things right. Unfortunately for the poor guy, he still lives in Cincinnati.
  19. I dont even bother with the "I wont vote for Obama because he's black" people anymore, they're too far gone to be of any use to a democracy, or society, really.
  20. Anyone who understands supply and demand could have told you that the price was going to drop. I'll be interested in seeing the October and November sales numbers. People have gotten used to driving less and driving more efficiently, we'll see if that keep up. I assume it wont, since Americans are pretty stupid.
  21. Are those 7 vehicles worth appx. $200,000+? Because estimating the cost of those cars (none more than 8 years old) bring me to about $220,000. How many "common men" have put nearly a quarter of a million dollars in their driveway(s) in less than a decade?
  22. That was nothing. I deal with right-wing psychos around here all the time, and I hear much worse. A lot of "I like McCain because I like my guns and I like war" type stuff. Then there is the hypocritical woman who was complaining about Obama being a socialist while buying groceries with food stamps.
  23. Yeah, I dont see any Cadillacs, Lexuses, Lincolns or hybrids on your list. And Obama has an Escape hybrid.
  24. I just saw the December C&D and there were 3 Corvettes and a Veyron on the cover. I dont think they're pandering too much to the mpg crowd.
