Ok, the bolded part is only kind of true. To be classified a truck the seats either need to be removable or fold to create a flat load floor.

Brad Pitt and Payne Stewart (he was a golfer, but he was on Home Improvement that one time) are from Springfield, thats close enough. And if you've ever seen The Bourne Supremacy, right at the end when the chick tells him his real name and place of birth, yeah it turns out he's from the town I live in. So not a real person, but my backwards, redneck, podunk, hich town was mentioned in a major motion picture.

In the 13 months I had my L200 I had to replace the exhaust manifold (something like $600 bucks, at around 70,000 miles) and the front pads and rotors (I *only* paid $350 for this) and got new tires, I went cheap and got some Fuzions, like $300 total. Right at the end I shelled out like $26 for some new bulbs for the CHMSL (I got them at cost, normally it would have been like $55). Some of the things I never bothered with were the AC compressor that died and took one of the lines with it (I figured it would have been in the $500 region to fix) and then there was the driver's seatbelt that didn't want to retract and the keyfob that ate batteries like crazy. *Edit-Had it in, right at the end for the taillight recall, I replaced the buld a couple of times then I figured out that if you jiggle the plastic thingy the bulb sits in, it'll work right for a little while. Would I have driven it across the country? Yeah but it would have been incredibly hot in any weather warmer than 70 degrees (black leather does that) and my body would have ached because of the seats that weren't very good for long distance driving and the wind noise and the buzzy engine. The Solara just got its first oil change, I've only put about 4000 miles on it (I've had for a month now) so I cant say much on its reliability.

#1 is the xA (Chevy.com comparison) #2 is the Ram (All the others do, the Ram has the Quad Cab, which space wise is similar to the others extended cabs, but is has dors that open conventionally) #3 is the Pedals(Chevy.com) #4 is 63.1(Had to go to Edmunds to get this) #5 I'd guess the Silverado, cant find anything definative on Chevy's website. With the internet, why do we even needs salespeople?

Fuck outward visibility. (Sorry, trying to see if we still have censors) 68 and I may not agree on most things, but we agree on this, lower is better, you feel more connected to the road, you feel like you are driving instead of piloting. SUVs have a lot of glass, so duh they have good outward visibility, so do station wagons. Sitting higher can, if you glance quickly, effect your depth perception (ok, maybe that one is just me) and allows for smaller vehicles to sneak into the massive blind spots, they really only offer the best outward visibility if you are looking forward. Forget about backing up or parallel parking, unless you get the backup warning thingys. In my experience, the best outward visibility for the driver comes from an honest to god station wagon. Because really, what does that higher vantage point get you in traffic? It doesn't matter to me if I am at eye level with the back glass of the Tahoe in front of me or with the tailgate badge, doesn't really help the fact that I'm caught in traffic, now does it?

Thats an interesting paint job. It makes the '03 Indy pace car, with its purple paint over yellow leather look subtle and attractive.

Yeah, as soon as I posted that USC got called for a penalty, then Vince Young took over. So much for the three-peat. I'm not going to say USC choked, their track record shows that they dont do that. Young and Texas are clutch, something like 5 comeback wins this year, did anyone actually think it was over when Texas was down by 12?

From what I hear, this has been a great game. I got home in time to see USC give the ball up with under 2:00 left and Texas not doing much with it.

It doesn't hide its length well (maybe its just me the the current Suburban doesn't look that long at first, this one does) but it really does look good.

I've seen one '07 tahoe commercial a couple of times, the one that does what GM does worst in their advertisments, it talks about the features. The second row seats, the backup camera, whatever else. I've gotten so used to "Employee Pricing" and "Red Tag Event" commercials that I almost forgot that there are other reasons to buy GM. Coming off of that tangent, no I haven't seen one yet. There are two Chevy dealers within 10 miles of me, one is huge and evil, the other is smaller and family owned. Oddly enough, the smaller, family owned dealer usually gets new intros faster than the big one. The C6 is the only vehicle that has come out in the last year or so that I have seen first at the big, evil dealership. The Cobalt, the HHR, the Impala, the Monte Carlo and the facelifted Malibu all showed up in decent number (3-10 on the lot) at the smaller dealer than at the big one.

They need to offer the diesels here. And more vehicles need built in diaper changing stations, and urinals. There aren't enough cars on the road today with built in urinals. Whats next a built in restroom attendant?

Yikes, those collars do look scary. I thought I was mean getting one of those anti-bark shock collars. I have one of those big waterproof pads to put down on the seat, it worked perfectly in the Saturn, the rear doors helped getting it in, it goes in the Solara as well, not as easily, and it is easier for her to dislodge for some reason. The problem is that she leaves snot and slobber all over the rear windows, which is a bitch to clean so I'm starting to let her ride up front, its easier to get her in and out that way anyways.

No sludge (first thing I had checked out) and no grudge either. I am going to bitch about one thing about this car. Some of you may remember that my Saturn was dark red and I bitched that it was impossible to keep clean. Well the Solara has an ivory interior, which in itself is tough to keep clean, it is made worse by the fact that I have a black lab. And the cloth holds on to everything. I cant win. My next car (it'll have to wait until 2007 at the earliest my New Years resolution for 2006 is to not buy a new car) is going to have to be some shade of brown that matches the color of dirt, or gold or some other color that doesn't show dirt that much, and it'll have to have dark cloth inside.

The quality is getting there, the interiors are getting there, still a generation or so behind the class leaders on both fronts, for the most part. No stupid SUVs for Pontiac, more than two cars and less than 3 SUVs/crossovers/vans for Buick, give Caddy another retractable hardtop or a coupe in the $40-50k range, keep hyping GMC, find a direction and stick with it for Saturn, give SAAB the goofy, outside the box cars like the MAXX (I think the MAXX Is a better SAAB than the SportCombi thing) and just keep on keepin on with Chevy. KISS, keep it simple, stupid. The money side of it, well just quit being dumb with it. No more huge UAW contracts, no more Fiat fiascos and in the long term GM should pull out just fine, better for the hardships.
