    Caption Me

*Boink* Dont know why, that would be a hilarious caption to this pic.

I dont want it to have one of those really common names, but I dont like mythology names too much. The only serious suggestion I have made is Raven, because Poe was the shiznit. She didn't say no to that one.

    I'm pregnant

Oops was another name that was shot down. The doctors appointment was interesting. I went along because I had nothing better to do, plus every father I know say its part of the experience and both parents should be there, blah blah blah. well, all went as expected until it came time for the ultrasound. I was expecting the thing they run over the tummy, but no this was a wand. About nine inches long, I'll leave it to your imagination to figure out where it goes. I'm glad it wasn't ribbed, she may have never left. Anywho......we somehow got three different due dates, August 6th, August 19th and August 22nd. August 15th would be exactly halfway between my birthday and her birthday, so that would be pretty cool.

The idea of driving a minivan makes me sad. We've already discussed it and we're bringing it home from the hospital in her Rodeo, not my Solara. We haven't really talked about names, setting up a room for it, any of that stuff, but we know what it will ride home in.

    My Turn

Rule #1-If you are selling a car with popup headlights, DO NOT take pictures of it with the headlights up, it looks bad. Maybe one pic, taken at dusk with the lights on just to show that they work would be ok, but not five pics, in broad daylight with the lights up. Pop-up headlights are evil. That is one hell on a nice Chevette though.

Supposedly if a baby sucks on a man's nipple long enough, he'll produce milk. I'm thankful I remembered to forget where I heard that, because I might be inclined to look into it more just out of curiosity.

    My Turn

Novel idea, the only problem is I can tell you the response to this. "How can I geta job when I dont have a car to get to work?" I'll let you all discuss the various ways around this.

...but my girlfriend is. She's 10 weeks along now, which makes me wonder why she waited until 3 weeks ago to tell me. But anyways, she went to the doctor the other day and apparently she had been carrying twins until one of them quit growing at about 9 weeks, the other appears normal and healthy, even if it does look a bit like a blob. But I'm excited and nervous and sometimes flat-out scared. But overall hooray for me!
  10. My 95,000 mile 2000 Solara is smoother and quieter than some brand-spankin new GMs I've driven. We had a Nissan Sentra, an '88 I think, that made it to 230,000 miles before running into the back of a pickup. Vinyl seats, manual windows AM/FM/Casette, 5-speed. It fel like it would run forever. Same with out '92 SL2 which has like 250,000 on it now, I'm not sure if its still on the road or not. The thing was mechanically strong, only the interior seemed to be cheaper than the Sentra. And finally, the last 200k car I drove was the '96 Century. Yikes, this thing could be scary. It shook, a lot, at any speeds over 60 and many speeds under 60. A load of cash to re-build the front suspension and guess what, it still shook like crazy. The driver's side of the 60/40 front bench broke and was stuck in a full recline. Sure, the thing would have run forever, but it would not have been ennjoyable, as I like to go the speed limit, or higher, on the highway.
  11. I've seen one Mark LT, but I've seen it twice. How do I know it was the same one? It had Arkansas plates, and I highly doubt that of the 14 people in Arkansas who can afford a Mark LT, more than three bought one and more than one of those three was trolling around in SW MO. The only Blackwood I saw was at a used car dealership, one of the shady ones that will probably be gone a week after you buy a car there.
  12. I laughed my ass off at the part of about drugs not helping people with depression, and also at Cruise looking like a complete moron.
  13. Yep. Well, maybe if they had been in a better financial place throughout the 90's those contracts wouldn't seem as bad today. No, wait, they would. GM's problems are GM's fault. I guess saying thatmakes me a GM hater. Josh seems to know the ins-and-outs of the auto industry as well as Tom Cruise knows the history of psychology.

    My Turn

This is more likely than any of the above. I think you'll look good in it.
  15. No they can be solved, all we have to do is get Michael J Fox and a Delorean, go back in time and make the domestics not build $h!ty cars. That would prevent them from being in this mess in the first place.
  16. I've seen one Ranger outside of a dealer lot. I actually see a lot of Relays (and Terrazzas(that is so not spelled right)) but not many Uplanders or TransSport Montana SV6 CSVs and the new Daezukis are fairly common around here, I'm sure is has more to do with the "Get a brand new car for $6700" line at the end of the radio ad than the "The only car in its class with steering wheel mounted radio controls" line in the middle of the ad. Yeah, we get a lot of Suzuki commercials. RLs are extremely rare, I did see a house that had *TWO* old RLs in the driveway, I think I've only seen one new one on the road, and one in the dealership I bought my Solara at. I saw a Mazda5 parked ouutside of the dealership the other day, I was wondering if they solved that little fire issue. And the Insight is apparently still available, it is listed on Honda's website. For someone who has a long commute, the only better alternative would be a motorcycle. The rest of the cars I either haven't seen or haven't seen in a really long time.

    pi

Requiem was amazing, pi was awesome too. I have both laying around here somewhere, its been a while since I've watched them.
  18. Wow, its like reading a Linkin Park album. The cliche "I'm an angsty teen, the whole world sucks, I deserve better" thing is played out. Really it does get old.
  19. Pepsi Blue was interesting. By the way, I have a bottle of Crystal Pepsi, it might be diet, not sure, its in the mini-fridge, has been for years.
  20. I've only ever seen one Chipotle, didn't see how many people were in it. And the only good thing about Qdoba (in my experience) is the free WiFi and convenience, we have three so there is always one around. I'm not a big fan of the food. Oh and real Mexican food kicks ass.
  21. Just out of curiosity, how many GM vehicles sold in the US are built outside of the US, i.e. Canada and Mexico. I know its more than the 850,000 Toyota imports but I wonder what the percentage is.
  22. All that money and they didn't do anything about the cheap GM cloth seats? Go for it BV, as long as you're destroying Grand Ams, you might as well destroy the worst there are.
  23. Thats pretty funny. As in actually funny, something that has humor in it, even if it is a bit sophomoric. That is different from narrow minded 'yee'haw, lookee that there (insert name of import car here) just got rear ended" redneck humor, which is just making light of other people's misfortunes. Not cool.
  24. What he said.

    Pictures!

Yeah, we've had some weird ones but this takes the cake.
