Hey Camino (or anyone else for that matter)
Thanks Camino. An added bonus, with the tree gone, I'll be able to get the Buick into the back yard (the tree is close enough to the gate that the car wont fit) once its done, resolving the parking issues we'd be facing otherwise.

GM updates Arabian-market Chevrolet Caprice
I assume company provided Kevlar vests are already part of their package. If not, that could be a start.

Iowa gay marriage ban ruled unconstitutional
Linkypoo Now midwesterners dont have to go to the east coast to be gay married. Should help Iowas economy. Then again, I'm not sure how much corn gay couples buy.

GM updates Arabian-market Chevrolet Caprice
I agree that its gotta suck working in the Welfare Capital of the World, but GM would be ripped apart by the press if they pulled more jobs out of Michigan.

Which small car Pontiac would you choose?
The Astra isn't close to being a good enough car for what they were asking, thats all GM's fault. But if you get the price point down where it belongs the Astra becomes tolerable. They currently have $2500 on the hood, that gets a 5-door XR down to about $15,500 which is closer to where it belongs.

2010 Porsche Panamera First Look
So what you're saying is that if it were pillarless, it would be better looking? Great, now this thread is going to be inundated with hundred of pictures of 1972 Chryslers.

Hey Camino (or anyone else for that matter)
I've got a tree in my backyard that I absolutely hate. Its a crabapple tree and I want it to die a slow, painful, torturous death. But my dad likes it and is more than willing to make a spot in his yard for it. Problem is, its pretty mature, at least 11 years old, around 6 feet tall. Is there any way to get it out without killing it?

2010 Porsche Panamera First Look
I cant decide, it either looks like a squished Cayenne or a stretched Cayman.

The Aveo5 and G3 are decent cars? I'll let you know when I stop laughing about that one, it may be a day or two. Seriously Roger, the Aveo and G3 are crummy, unsafe, inefficient boxes of crap compared to just about every other vehicle on the road. Hell, I'd take a 5 year old Hyundai or Kia over an Aveo. I'd take a "mechanic's special" Escort off of Craigslist before I bought an Aveo or G3. I would paralyze myself from the waist down and use an electric wheelchair to get around before I would buy an Aveo or G3. I would pay for a chauffeured Town Car to take my loved ones anywhere they needed to go before I would allow one of them to drive an Aveo or G3.

March 2009 Sales: General Motors
Volume doesn't mean a damn thing, its just a way for Company X to say, "We made Y more vehicles than competitor Company Z" no matter the bottom line. So now you're in favor of dropping Pontiac, since all GM needs is volume and they can just add to Chevrolet's fleet numbers? Volume isn't profit. Retail volume is what matters, since those are customers who actually WANT TO PURCHASE the vehicles in question. The rest of the volume will go to the lowest bidder, thats no way to make money. I just really like repeating that quote because there are several ways I can rip it apart.

Dr ColorChip touch-up repair
Yeah, the one that came with the Prius is painted with an eco-friendly paint, they used white because any other color would increase emissions by forcing the cooling system to work harder.

March 2009 Sales: General Motors
Pontiac has the highest fleet percentage of any GM brand. And they matter because, as I said, those are sales that aren't about the car. They're not sales to people who actually want it, or think its a good car, they're sales to companies who want to spend the least. With everyone saying, "Pontiac is super-popular, it needs to stay" I think it needs to be addressed that in the last several years, more than one-third of all Pontiacs sold haven't been to people who actually WANT them. And yes, G6 sales are likely propped by being really, really cheap.

Kia VG Concept
It looks exactly like (insert car name here) Its good looking, the rear seems a bit unoriginal, but overall a good looking package.

Buyers still have to finance that $7,500 and chip away at that $7,500 (plus the interest on it) with every payment.

2010 Hyundai Genesis 2.0T
I've driven by the dealership a few times, the green one is there, calling to me. The red V6 is gone, someone is probably enjoying their ride.

Which small car Pontiac would you choose?
Not much of a choice. Between the two, I'd go Vibe for a multitude of reasons. Take a good look at the Astra as well, they're having such a tough time unloading them, you might be able to get such a screaming value that the cars significant shortcomings are easier to overlook.

Jay Leno: "I think you'll find that the Volt will be a superior package to the Prius"
The Volt is going to be cross-shopped with the Prius and Insight and HS250, as well as anything else in the $40k price range.
