  2. Personally, I think the SRX's roofline shows more of a family resemblance to the Antara/Vue and Captiva than this. This is, to me, the better differentiated of the Theta/Theta-Epsilon bunch.
  3. So the Ascona would be the Astra sedan (entry-level Buick in the US and China) and the Calibra would be the GTC's successor (Buick Riviera? Or is that blapshemy?). Interestingly, I read that the Renault Megane sedan might get a different name. On a funny note for those who know Portuguese, they would have to change the Ascona's name here again, because of all the jokes that were made around the Ascona name in Portuguese!

If Chevy engineers two Epsilon 2 models, they can offer both SWB and LWB Epsilon 2 models in the US. The Epica can be called Malibu in the US (or use the Malbu name worldwide) and the LWB can be the Impala, sold only in NA.
  6. Very, very rusty... But it probably is the piece of news I read in Swedish (IIRC at Dagens Industri) about Reinfledt telling GM they should take care of its own mess, so no direct help to SAAB. Those loan guarantees might fly, though. I think that the Swedish Government asked for a more detailed business plan with a downside scenario lasting a few years instead of just one or two in order to assess the probability of having to pat those 600 million instead of SAAB.
  7. To me Astra's sides look smoother. The greenhouse seems to have the a similar rounded shape.

  9. Let me see if I get it... reorganize the profitable bits under a new Company and sell off or shut down the rest. contracts heavily reworked (at least), with the UAW contract most likely going out the window?

  12. Feb 17th can't arrive soon enough, as GM's restructuring plan is supposed to be presented that day. On a side note, Reinfeldt rocks! It seems hockey-stick projections bull$h! will not fly with the Swedish government, and they want to get as close as possible to the true cost of bailing out both Volvo and SAAB.

  15. Nice Renault Megane. I like it and the Megane Coupe looks really good IRL.
  16. Our Canadian friends here at C&G should take a good look at the Z4 and ask any BMW people there how on Earth the company that designs the Z4 comes up with that horrendous 5-Series GT MPV-not-supposed-to-be-called-a-MPV thing... unless they hired the Aztek's designer
  17. Not when after 2 hours your chairs have 3 legs and you're missing 9 or 10 bolts :rotflmao: SAAB using that "Nordic expression of design" idea together with it becoming sort of an automobile industry Apple are interesting thoughts.

  19. I'm going to be the first to shout out: MPV!!! This thing is atrocious...
  20. Don't like the weels. What I want to see is the GTC, that's the one I'd be interested in...

  22. No, FOG. Sorry, but I disagree. On a car coming from a Nordic brand simplicity and practicality are key as simplicity and practicality are THE hallmarks of Nordic design. Also, the car is white (a colour that hides body surfacing details very well) and is still missing headlamps and taillamps.
