Since Buick's fanbase is kinda skewed towards the older crowd, wouldn't that be a good thing in the long run?

Volt may be ready for testing next spring
I really hope they can blindside the competition this time around.A crazy question: do you think this could be a better fuel economy booster to full size vehicles like the big trucks (Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade/Hummers) than the hybrid models that are coming to market, or would packaging issues (I believe regarding essentially batteries) be hard to solve? My (probably crappy) reasoning is as follows: electric motors deliver high and constant torque, which would be great in large trucks. With an internal combustion engine acting as a charger at low rpm, fuel economy for those vehicles be substantially better.

I actually thought about an alternative along those lines before, but I fear that the "and design cars for those markets" bit might result in a multiplication of design efforts (and cost). Or am I interpreting you wrong?Btw, is Holden a wholly owned subsidiary or are there minority shareholders?

In that scenario you presented, would Buick become to the Chinese market what Holden-minus-RWD is in Australia? Just a badge/brand that sells global vehicles under the Buick name? Or would it be killed everywhere?EDIT - By 'killed' I mean 'ticked-tocked'

yep, it's good when you can take them all at once and spend a whole month doing nothing- The Underworked American
With the 3-working-day bonus I get if I don't miss work during the year, I get a total of 25 working days. That's 5 Monday-through-Friday work weeks! I believe that in the US one usually get a 2 week vacation, with additional days as you stay with the company.- Word Association

:rotflmao: I see a sense of humour in your Holden-hating person! There might be a problem, though: I don't play for that team :AH-HA_wink:Where did you get that sentence from? EDIT1 - edited to replace 'for' where I wrote 'fer'. Writing 'fer' means I'm watching too many American Chopper re-runs. I'm starting to write like Paul Sr. would EDIT2 - @ cyclonic: believe me there's not much to read in my or PCS' posts that isn't nonsense I do agree it looks like crap, but someone at GMI posted that he/she saw a test mule and that it looked good IRL, so who knows? Maybe it's just another case of GM photography not doing justice to GM's product: 2-pedal manual G6 interior shot comes to mind everytime I see GM photos- FRANKFURT: 2008 Chevrolet Aveo5

I speak English, but since we're supposed to write in a message board why not another language now and then? EDIT1 - I can provide translations for a small fee. I take US dollars EDIT2 - @ PCS: talar du svenska? jag behöver att träffa folk för att öva svenska.- Word Association
sex addiction yes, such a thing does exist and there's even a few 12-step programs to deal with it- FRANKFURT: 2008 Chevrolet Aveo5
Eu gosto do BLS, mas como produto FWD/AWD prefiro o Saab 9-3 SportCombi.- Van Halen won't be 'rockers with walkers': Roth
It's more than that: it's the clarity in his eyes, as the drug/alcohol/sex/whatever 'veils' are removed. A friend went to Metallica's Meet & Greet in Stockholm this year and she says she was telling me how impressed she was by James Hetfield's presence as a sober, in-the-moment person. And, speaking of James and PCS' comment: Attached is a proper taliban-meets-bluegrass gray beard- FRANKFURT: 2008 Chevrolet Aveo5
Obrigado! É pena que o sedan receba aquela frente...- The Future of Pontiac - Autoweek
All this "tic toc" talk reminds me of "Frantic tick tick tick tick tick tick tock" EDIT - If the thing isn't profitable, it's just a matter of figuring out how much it costs to let it die a pityful death versus how much it costs to shoot it in the head and end it once and for all. Something I read (Jack Welch about GE's approach): if it isn't nr1 or nr2 in its industry (or worse, if it is economically/finiancially distressed), a subsidiary is evaluated for (i) recovery/reaching nr1 or nr2 , (ii) sale or (iii) to be shut down.- Deaf Karaoke Live - The Ultimate Version
