Good catch there, Ted! It shouldn't take much more than adding US reg bumpers and side markers to have this thing ready. Any significant time-to-introduction will probably have to do with tooling a plant in NA (Oshawa, IIRC). Perhaps Rüsselheim can make a few Regals alongside the Insignias to help speed up the introduction until Oshawa starts building it. All you need now is the Astra and to drop that Super-Epsilon-Lucerne idea...

Neck hurts from headbanging and ears and voice are completely shot from last night: RAMP (Portuguese band and kind of 'meh') Mastodon (1st time I saw them - wow!) Lamb of God (insane, hehe) Machine Head (wow nr 2) Slipknot (dislike their music but they are very energetic live) and Metallica (this year, unlike last year, they ruled the night - amazing show!)

SAAB people know that Audi had to continuously improve over some 20 to 30 years to be able to price their cars close to BMW and Mercedes. I would expect clever pricing for the 9-5 so that SAAB doesn't need to discount it.

Re 9-3: too early to tell. Apparently there will be one more redesign of the current car, which I hope focuses on the rear end and interior. And on offering the SIDI 2.0L turbo I4! Re 9-5: much larger than the Passat CC. Phateon room at CC prices could perhaps be a decent comparison...

Looking at Canada from the other side of the Atlantic I see Chevy, Buick, GMC and Cadillac. Magna, even if they do get Opel, won't be investing millions and millions in getting the cars there as Opels - it will likely cost less to ship them over as Buicks. Chevrolet will be pushed as GM's global entry-level brand, and the other 2... well... we all know their intended placement so no argument there IMHO.
