  1. Awesome. When is it coming? Leftlane news said in August but I thought it would only be here next year.
  2. Maybe they just used the Cobalt's numbers (34 Hwy) as an example for now. You would think a 1.8 Ecotec would use a little less fuel than a 2.2 Ecotec.
  3. I liked the robot ad, it was better than I thought it would be. HHR was so so and the Chevy ad was okay but the song wasn't that catchy. I did like the tag line at the end "People who love cars love Chevy"
  4. Some people have too much time on their hands.
  5. This is a great move but I don't see Canada mentioned anywhere which is discouraging.
  6. Send me an invite, that's one party I don't want to miss. I don't think GM will ever recover fom the damage he did.
  7. And then what? What I'm wondering is when will the bleeding stop. We might be here in 10 years looking back saying no more Buick, no more Pontiac at a GM with 10-15 market share.
  8. Down 1.6% but they held their own. Retail sales were supposedly up over 30%. Click on link to get results for everyone in Canada, eh! http://www.desrosiers.ca/pdfs/sales.pdf January 2007, General Motors of Canada dealers delivered 22,640 units, off 1.3% versus the same month last year. “The real story for us in January was solid growth on the retail side of the business” said Marc Comeau, vice president General Motors of Canada vehicle sales service marketing. “GM Canada’s retail sales were up 31.4% with trucks sales up 44.3% and cars up 16.9%. As we continue to stay the course with our strategy to focus on the quality and durability of our products and reduce our reliance on daily rental sales, our retail performance is a strong indicator of consumer acceptance for our products, including a significant number of recently launched cars and trucks”. “Saturn sales were up 30% on the strength of our all-new product line-up, including the Aura and Outlook. Our Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pick ups saw double digit growth, with combined sales up 73.6%. Comeau added, “We had gains in the small car segment, with the Chevrolet Cobalt up 15.3% and Pontiac Vibe up 37.7%, both on the strength of their retail sales performance. Comeau concluded “I am encouraged by our January numbers and the strength of our recently launched products. The Saturn Aura and Chevrolet Silverado swept Car and Truck of the Year at the North American International Auto Show, beating out a number of import and domestic competitors. The Cadillac CTS was honoured with “Best in Show”. GM has also committed to produce more than 12 hybrid versions of our most popular cars and trucks. Look for hybrid versions of the Saturn Aura, Chevrolet Malibu, Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon to be launched this year. Sales Highlights for JANUARY 2007 GM Canada had its best January retail sales month since 2002, up 31.4% Saturn had the best January sales in it’s history, up 30% overall Cadillac sales were up 37.9% overall and saw their best January retail sales month since 1977. Saab had another record month, up 23.5% driven by the strength of the 9-5 and 9-7X. Combined performance of our recently launched Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pick ups almost doubled last year’s January sales, up 73.6% The Canadian-built Chevrolet Equinox and Pontiac Torrent continued to post strong gains, with overall sales up a combined 20.5%. Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 saw retail sales up 55% and 39%, respectively
  9. Why does the Sedona outsell the Entourage 10 to 1?
  10. Those numbers are brutal. Buick division only sold 12K vehicles for in the entire month, can you believe that? Pontiac down 38%. Even Solstice was down 60% and they were not lower fleet sales. Lacrosse and GP's won't find homes if they're not going to Avis. I think GM has found their Mojo about 10 years too late it looks America has moved on. Time to pull out the red tags.
  11. At least it wasn't a double digit increase.
  12. Plunger
  13. Not too sure myself if its true but if it is then that's great. I did hear a guy standing next to me at the auto show last week who was admiring the new malibu say it was so nice he would consider selling his Honda for one so I turned to him and said I think GM has found their Mojo and he said I think so too.
  14. LZ4 = 3500 and LZ9=3900. 3800 will be around 1 more year and then its toast too.
  15. yeh but will any of them have less than 500K miles on them? I've never been to Cuba but when I do see some pics of it on tv I always see 1950's Chevy's driving around. What are the most popular cars there?
  16. That is amazing! First time I've ever heard of a car being buried in a time capsule. If you really want to go on an adventure and meet your friend halfway this looks like a good reason to do it. Wonder what kind of shape the car will in and what kind of plastic they wrapped it in to preserve it. Hope they have a new battery and gas on hand to start it up.
  17. 86 Taurus. I think that was its first year. Hung GM out to dry and proved cars didn't have to be square boxes. Also the 84 Dodge Caravan
  18. Welcome and good luck with the job.
  19. I asked you once before why you knew so much about Montreal but you probably didn't see my post. We got about 15cm or 5 inches of snow today. Like earlier people said the weather network tends to preach the worst and then it turns out to be nothing. Your university closing because of a little snow is lame. I just hope it doesn't snow Thursday night or my 9 hour drive to Detroit will be a lot longer.
  20. The weather is screwed up. Its snowing where its not supposed to and not snowing where it should. Today this little storm is giving Montreal its first real snow ( 5 inches) of the winter and winter is half over. I had to laugh watching the U.S. news yesterday when they said 25 degrees was bitterly cold and the CNN guy has his parka on.
