  1. WOW! This is great news for Chrysler and should be a morale booster for all their workers. Who would of thought Toyota's MVP would jump ship to a U.S. automaker. P.S. this topic should of been front page news today. I just found out about it from one of those ''other" sites.
  2. Had to laugh at the 86 commercial with the 7.9% financing deal at the end. Liked the 88 2 door Cutlass Supreme IS, too bad they screwed up so many things with the W bodies when they were first introduced.
  3. Oshawa, Ontario (September 4, 2007) – For August 2007, General Motors of Canada dealers delivered a total of 38,707 vehicles, an increase of 3.2% over the same month last year. Marc Comeau, GM of Canada’s vice-president of sales, service, and marketing said, “Our August sales increase was the result of strong performance across our entire portfolio. Our new crossover utilities performed exceptionally well as did GM’s leading selection of small, fuel efficient vehicles.” Comeau added “We are looking forward to an exciting fall with the launch of the European styled Chevrolet Malibu, the all new Cadillac CTS and additions to GM’s hybrid portfolio, including the new Malibu hybrid and two-mode hybrid versions of the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon.” Sales Highlights for August GM’s all-new family of crossover vehicles continue to perform well with the GMC Acadia, Buick Enclave and Saturn Outlook driving a 69.8% increase in mid-utility sales. GM saw growth in van sales with the affordable Chevrolet Uplander and Pontiac Montana SV6 up 25.2% and 45.9%, respectively. 4. Honda must of really been pushing the Accord to make way for the new model. I saw a lot of the $199 a month ads too. 47K Accords in one month has to be a record.
  5. GM up and Toyota is down for the month!!! There is a God! I have to drink tonight.
  6. I think it should be the Chevy El Camino for sure ,anything else would be foolish. The name is already well known and could draw off of its past success. I fear it will be called the G9 or G10.
  7. Now it has an ugly front end, ugly wheels and a hideous spoiler to go with the cheesy interior.
  8. I'm a brand humper but now I'm rooting for Ford and Chrysler too.

  10. I saw this car Saturday On Woodward too and it didn't exactly get my heart racing. I don't know why, maybe it was because I spent the previous 3 days looking at thousands of old muscle cars but my jaw didn't drop when I walked up and checked it out. It looks like a BMW with a Pontiac logo which is probably a good thing for Pontiac. Maybe a quick test drive would get my motor running.
  11. I saw the 08 MAlibu LTZ today at the Dream Cruise and I'm telling you the car was beautiful. Its was a dark red, burgandy, much nicer than the silver one that was on the car show circuit. The car is stunning and could easily pass for a car costing 10K more. I'm sure if the Malibu name wasn't on it people would think it was and Audi or a small Lexus. To quote what I heard a guy say "if Chevy can't boost sales of the Malibu with this car they may as well through in the towel and join forces with Toyota"
  12. It seems we have a lot of Addicts here at Cheersandgears, 76% . An addict is someone who visits a site 30 times or more per month. Some of you probably visit 30 times a day. I visit about 7-8 times per day.
  13. I'm heading for Woodward early tomorrow morning. I'll try to get a lot of pics. The G8 being there is a nice surprise!
  14. Def Leppard was my favorite band of the 80's and Hysteria one of my favorite songs.
  15. I don't know anything, I was going by your original post that stated the two new engines were not applicable to NA and since you didn't hint at any new powertrains for NA I assumed there would not be any changes.
  16. This MCE doesn't address the engine/MPG problem which is the Aveo's major downfall.
  17. Most I've ever seen in person was a 89 Z24 2.8 V-6 with just over 500,00 KM and a 91 Pontiac 6000 with 540,00KM, motor in that was a 3.1. My bro's 90 Accord was approaching 400,000KM last year but it was stolen.
  18. That's great news. Sounds like it would make a great commercial.
  19. I went there in 97 when I was in Lansing for the Olds Celebration. I will consider becoming a member.
  20. You have to go. Last year was my first year and I think its better than Carlisle.
  21. How's it going? looking forward to meeting you guys and having some of your cheeseburgers again. These spots are very close to where you were last year right? Are there any tours of GM's private collection like there was last year? This year I plan on getting to Detroit for Thursday afternoon so I can enjoy the action on Thursday night and all day Friday.
  22. I'm going. I was there last year and I met up with mighty mouse but I didn't meet you. I will be on the lookout for you guys.
  23. 5.6 billion is a nice chunk of change. Hopefully a good portion of it can go to product development.
