  1. was just listening to a car talk radio show with some "experts" and they think the new warranty will be more for current GM owners who were thinking of dumping GM because of their bad press lately and maybe some current customers who got burned by the dreaded intake gasket problems What do you guys think? Sales and dealer people out there will have to keep us informed about showroom traffic in the next few months to see what impact this new warranty will have.
  2. Its about an hour east of Cedar Rapids. He bought the car from a farmer and the guy even let my brother spend the night in his house if you can believe that. He had to take it to a Ford dealer in another town to get something fixed before the drive home and a lot of people were checking out the car because no one had ever seen it before even though this town was only 15 miles from were the car lived for 40 years.
  3. Dam I wish I would of went to college. What brings you to Montreal, the beautiful women?
  4. Cool! If only they could build something like this in the next few years imagine what it would do for their image.
  5. Awesome job. I love old vidoes like that. P.S. Noticed your from IA. My brother went to a small town called Onslow recently to pick up a 67 Ford he bought on Ebay and said it was a really nice state with freindly people. Sorry I didn't make the trip with him.
  6. I like the new commercial that can be seen at GM'a web site and it looks like the flying cars are going to create a lot of buzz and great PR.
  7. It may make companies speed up the process of making safety items standard equipment cause consumers will see the info on the sticker.
  8. That's what I've always thought. They most probably will get increased sales because of it and it won't cost a penny for at least 3 years. It may bring the price of an extended BTB warranty down since powertrain repairs won't be factored in.
  9. Great news! I thought they should of did this long ago but it was probably part of a long term plan in thier restructuring. Glad Canada was included too.
  10. These ads are from the early 80-s, The Heartbeat of America tag line came out around 1987.
  11. Its always sad to see an old dealer close but it did look kinda pre-historic, I'm sure most people would prefer I a new modern dealership.
  12. The Cobalt's biggest fault is it somehow managed to make CR list for worst compact in reliability. Hopefully GM is working overtime to address whatever those first year problems were.
  13. Did Armand V. Feigenbaum teach Toyota the Toyota production system?
  14. I love how their BS press release tries to paint a pretty picture. These numbers are brutal. Check out the YTD column, there's more - there than a January weather forecast. Down 12% or 400k units for the year.
  15. A whole 337 more cars sold this August vs last year.
  16. I wish that all the companies would come up with a standard formula and not try to fudge the #'s with the daily selling rate mumbo jumbo.
  17. What were their names again?
  18. The one thing that list proves is just how much doo-doo GM and their Detroit neighbors are in.
  19. A match and some gas could take care of that real quick.
  20. Have had 2 and never had any problems at all. Actually like it most this time of year when it starts getting a little cooler I open it more often, I'm not a big fan of the sun beating down on my head.
  21. True. Score another point for another Toyota appliance, they should get there on section at a Sears store.
  22. Hate the wheels on the blue one and those rain protector things are horrible.
  23. Doesn't do anything for me.
  24. I don't think GM should waste $$ on any kind of wagon right now. They need to come up with a competitive Minivan first. Personally I don't like the Magnum, it looks allright especially the ones with mags but inside they are so claustraphobic and I don't see them offering an avantage over a minivan or compact SUV.
