Pope's (and GWB) definition of American Freedom = Christian Theocracy. This speech is Hypocrisy on most high.

Thanks all for the well wishes. I can officially consider myself "mid-thirties" now. Fun. I need my 2011 Camaro Z/28 convertible now so I can work out any "crisis" I may have.

New headlights for the Malibu MAXX SS
avant1963 replied to avant1963's topic in Member's Rides Showcase
Thanks all. My wife likes the blingy lights, so the G6 stays as is. Though if it were mine, I would definitely get the black outs. Any 68, do you honestly think, if I could make a case for a $650 a month car payment, I wouldn't be driving around in a new G8 GT? There's nothing more I would like then a V-8 RWD beast, but it's not in the cards right now. I'll talk to you in 2010 when I'm in my Camaro Z/28. The Malibu is a stop-gap, and though not everyone here share the opinion, in MAXX SS form, I like the car a lot. -
Just installed them today. So happy I got rid of all that bling chrome in the front:

Well, the curse bit with less than 200 miles driven. My wife was "bumped" at the Dunkin' Donuts drive thru (they f@#k you at the drive thru). Did $500 damage to the rear bumper. If Jersey didn't mandate that we need front license plates, the Isuzu wanna-be Colorado wouldn't have done the damage it did. Oh well. I had a new car for 4 days anyway. -

Just to make everyone aware, yes the electric steering was awful, but the 06-07 Malibu SS and all G6 GT and GXPs now have hydraulic. The reason I went back to the G6 was that they dropped the electric steering on every model except for the cheapies. -
Saw it months ago. 1st part - love it 2nd part - thought provoking 3rd part - not buying it But I'm an atheist, liberal swine, so what do I know...

Dodgefan, While the G8 is what I wanted to replace my Malibu, but $8,000 extra and higher finance rates and $3,000 dollars over sticker put the G8 out of the price range. Maybe in a few more years. I'm just saving up my $$ for a Camaro. -

Yes. GM wizened up and does not offer it anymore. The only reason I went with the G6 again is that it has the normal sunroof which I have no problems with in the Malibu and they got rid of the horrific electric steering in the GTs. Those were the only two complaints (and they were MAJOR) that I had with the last one. My wife loved the G6 even with all its faults. We went to the Chevy dealer and I had her test drive an HHR LT2 with the 2.4 and she didn't like that it was thinner, taller and slower than her G6. I asked her what she really wanted to keep (I bought this time instead of lease) and she said CTS. And I said that she better get a job at the Emperor's Club VIP to afford that. She then said she wanted another G6 and that's what we did. -

My dad's 2003 Monte SS High-Sport and the neighbors Lightning with a lot of go-fast goodies. -
Perrine in NJ has two; a six banger and a GT. Both white. I only looked at the GT and it was one of the 888 and had an additional $3,000 added to the sticker. No sunroof either.

Black 2008 G6 GT Street Edition I know everyone here hates it, but I really liked it and my wife (it's her car) loves it. I did not know that you could add it to the GT models, but apparently you can. It has every option including the 18 inch rims and Stabili-track. We had a black GT next to this GT and it looked so much meaner with the Street Edition stuff it. Screw all you haters, we like it.

While I can't say any of these GM cars and trucks are good looking (except for the pretty stock Solstice GXP, not the Ferrari wannabe one) at least they are basing them off some real cars (is that good or bad). Question, is that a Cobalt next to the riced Mustang? http://blog.cardomain.com/blog/2008/03/mor...ics-f.html#more

I liked it better when Toyota didn't try to design their cars.

My dad had a 1979 gold Trans Am (no screaming chicken) with the plates "Am Fast".

I guess I'm too desensitized... My friend and I watch 2G1C and we laughed and laughed. We wound up pausing and fast-forwarding... too funny. I still think they used an enema filled with chocolate mouse... but I guess those crazy Brazilians are up for anything.

The real Corvette brochure (the thick, glossy book) does cost the dealership $$ and many dealerships I know only get a box or two, so it is true that getting one of those if you are not a real Corvette customer is hard to do. I do believe that they should have the one-pagers that they hand out to the general public. The real Corvette ones (I have many covering the 90's and early 2000s) are about 50 pages long, have a cover/envelope and are made from really nice paper with great photography. While it seems like the dealer treated you like an ass, what he was saying was true. These aren't your basic dealer brochures.

Patterns: A Video Game, an M.R.I. and What Men’s Brains Do

I got my wife "Manhunt 2" for the PS2 for Christmas. She wanted Turok for the XBOX360, but ours is in the shop for the dreaded Red Ring Of Death. She actually finished "Bully" for the PS2. She can play just as long, if not longer than me when she finds a game she really likes. Now that BlueRay has the clearance, we'll pick up a PS3 soon. We both are unimpressed with the Wii and will probably not pick one up. -
I find it the exact opposite. My wife's G6 has them on the hood, and when there was snow and ice, the nipples were frozen and useless, while the ones on my Malibu, which are on the wipers, I never had a problem with.
-
All that time to make perfect little details, but couldn't find the time to incorporate the windshield washer nipples into the wipers. If you don't get the stripes, they'll stick out horribly.

I thought I was seeing a rash of 1st gen Priuses out there, but the I realized that Nissan recycled Toyota's lack of style and created the Versa Sedan. I don't even think this is a debatable point, these two look EXACTLY the same from the rear. The taillights look interchangeable. I hate them both.

Want to spend some cash burning a hole in your pocket. This would be awesome for the collection: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...em=260209940394

When the G6 lease is up this year, it's either a G8 GT or an HHR SS. It all has to do with price (the HHR is almost 10k cheaper) and what Pontiac dealers are doing with the G8 come Aug/Sept. I looked at a black HHR SS yesterday (couldn't drive it because it was in the showroom, and it was an auto anyway) and I (and my wife) really liked it. With the G8 I refuse to pay over sticker. And I get the "supplier discount" or GM Card discount (whatever is more at the time) and I'm hoping that GM (or the dealer) does not pull the G8 from the program. So I am thinking smaller, but not from an "fuel saving" economic, but from a overall price standpoint.
