  1. It's not like you were really fooling anyone, anyway. :AH-HA_wink:
  2. Nor can they outrun the infamous Chaos Theory. :AH-HA_wink:
  3. Heh-heh. :AH-HA_wink:

  6. I hate the placement of the side marker lamp.
  7. Looked at another G8 at the local Pontiac dealer. It had a "market-adjusted price," which inflated the $32 grand price tag $2275 dollars more.

  9. New sig. Would anyone care to guess the quote?
  10. I wish that were the case, that the car was really out in the driveway right now and this was all a joke. But, sadly, it isn't. He was headed home to get the money and then started reconsidering about half way into the drive back. I think he can still be convinced, however. :AH-HA_wink: Also, if you wouldn't mind me asking for my dad, he asked me on the way home to ask you what you think that particular Monte would be worth, asking price of the car disregarded, and what it could be worth with the restoration finished. I hope you do get to feeling better, Cort. The flu is never fun. I had to make due with a mild case of it late last month (it seems that I am more vulnerable to the flu than ever since I had a flu shot back in January) and it was a nightmare to put up with. I still have an annoying cough from it.

  14. He came very close to buying it today but decided he wanted to sleep on it at the last minute.
  15. It sounds like the dreaded Dr. DRE is in town! You are better off buying a new one or even a gently used one.
  16. Guess that answers my question from the PM. Thanks, Cort! I'm going to keep on asking him about it and tell him to do just that once I get him down there and the lot is open. I know that after he got to read all of the feedback from here, his interest increased tenfold. :AH-HA_wink:
  17. Update: I showed my dad the feedback left in this thread and I think he's pondering the car even more. Let's see where this ends up by the end of the week.
  18. Well, I suppose the brochures tell a story. 1973: http://www.oldcarbrochures.com/main.php?g2..._serialNumber=2 1974: http://www.oldcarbrochures.com/main.php?g2..._serialNumber=2 1976: http://www.oldcarbrochures.com/main.php?g2..._serialNumber=2 Cort would probably know the real story, but I want to say that GM went to an all-color dash in 1974 judging by what I see here.
  19. That is interesting about the instrument panel. I'm going to have to look into that.
  20. Update: We have had a busy evening today, so our father-son test drive had to be postponed until tomorrow afternoon. I think that another look at the car will convince him to negotiate with the seller a bit and take it from there.
  21. Not really, in my opinion. The electronic steering in our G6 V6 made the front of the car feel slow, loose, and disconnected. It was akin to steering a boat and it seemingly handled like one. Our Aura with traditional hydraulic steering is a much better handler than the G6 with electronic steering. The Aura feels precise and weighted in comparison to the G6. I am sorry, but that electronic steering system is not one of GM's better executed ideas.
  22. As far as he could tell, there is no bondo or collision damage done to the car. As for drivabilty, he tells me that it does have one problem concerning that: it hauls way too much ass. :AH-HA_wink: And I will promise to deliver. :AH-HA_wink: And they are very sharp rides. I wish the MC dad is thinking about was black like your '76. That would only push me to make him buy it that much more. I wouldn't argue if the concept showed up in my driveway. :AH-HA_wink:
  23. I'll keep you posted. :AH-HA_wink: Hmmm! I had never notice that before. That is quite interesting. You know, I have always found the styling of the second-generation Montes the most graceful. The fenders are bold and suggest power but are elegant and flowing at the same time. I think it's even more apparent on the concept version. It is a shame that GM didn't build that concept as is, rear-drive and all.
  24. Speaking of the second-generation Impalumina coupe, has anyone ever noticed that the headlights are in the shape of bloated, jellybean bowties? I'm going to see if dad will go back tomorrow and take it for another test drive. I think that could persuade him to start some negotiations. :AH-HA_wink:
