  1. I think your missing the point (??) the G8 is on the large side for a family sedan. Not mid sized. When you go to small engine on this sized car it might not be as fuel efficient as you think...has to work hard to move all that mass around. How about V6 diesel? Myself--a 304HP DI V6 with 6 speed auto would be great
  2. where did you build it? I was just at pontiac.com and that option was not there
  3. Likely because it was only in the Caprice.Who pays attention to them? lol Very odd--must have been some kind of experiment---the fact it was only used in one vehicle.
  4. lol I always knew about this engine. Pontiac did some experiments adding a supercharger to it and put in a Firebird. I think it was a high 13 sec car. Probably better gas mileage. I should see if I can find this article..... Some GM based car mag did a build up of one...300hp? Had to be reved pretty high to get that. I think it was in some 55-57 Chevy project car.
  5. In Calgary, Alberta (thats in Canada BTW) We sure don't have the sheer quantity of cars but they are just as equal in quality. Here a few shot of my 2 fav picks. 72 Buick GS Stage 1--one of 103 four speeds and only one of 3 (!!) painted silver mist. Heavily modded 455 Buick with 5 speed and the 17" Replica Buick rims (original drive train was long gone when bought) 1968 Malibu--Marina blue (camera is off on the colour) 502 Ram Jet 510 hp, 5 speed, 17" Corvette Ralley rims pther shot are form a show in summer last year oh and my car! I won best in class 80-89 CONS (conservatively modded I think....) I love the Chevelles Fuel injected V8 but like the Buick a tad more--cause they are rare
  6. yes that was the flowing Car and Driver issue. However they said zero, specifcally about the 2.4L Ecotec.
  7. Looks good. I'd take a look if I was in the market--sure wish I was--my 2.4L auto Cobalt isi boring to drive
  8. I want to see the CDN pricing.
  9. Toyota Solara convertibles are the gayest. Next Toyota Paseos
  10. yeah but the G6 coupe does not make me puke like the Accord does. I hav never thought the G6 was disproportioned....but the Accord does...it was and still is my first thought "what an odd looking car"
  11. While not the worst performer---average is not exactly inspiring. The Malibu is too heavy for a 2.4L Ecotec of this HP. I have the same engine, trans in my Cobalt and I hate it. Slow revving and it moans.
  12. Your right! You are an ourcast! get out!! hehe j/k :AH-HA_wink: C3s are by fat the ugliest!! Those giant exaggerated fenders....
  13. C4 ZR-1s hold have always been greatly admired by me--no matter what come out later. Give me a polo green 95. Given some wealth I'd also put an LT5 in my Formula
  14. Hopefully some good improvemetns will cone soon. It really needs a bit more power and ALL applications need to run on regular. My 2.4L SS Cobalt needs premium...and I don't mind that---as long as I would get some good performance I hate the auto/Ecotec combo---my engine feels like it cannot breathe, revs like it has a an anchor attached to it and drones like crazy. My Dads Mazda 6 4cly with 5 speed auto--was enjoyable to drive (although it is slower)
  15. yes the HHR-SS was announced weeks ago w/ an auto trans option. It could easily go into the Cobalt. But will they do it? I really think so---maybe only the 4 door--I can't see GM certifying this engine/trans combo for just one model.
  16. Well I also rented a Corvette convertible.....I can concentrate on 2 things at a time! (Hawaii and cars) I was constantly on the look out for GTOs (didn;t get them in Canada)
  17. Nice LT1 you've got, That colour is kinda rare. Auto or 6 speed?? Not sure about a body kit (What can I say--I am a puruist)---get some SS rims and hood.
  18. NO! NO! NO! DSG fine....AWD NO!!! Totally out of caracter fort he Corvette. Doesn't belong! NO!!!
  19. can't wait to see what GM Canada will rape us for in the pricing dept
  20. nah, Katte Sachhoffwas the REAL star (AKA Starbuck on BSG) she looked soooo hot :AH-HA_wink: It wasn't awful show, wasn't great--I'll give it a few more shows before I decide.
  21. got my decal package from Phoenix Graphics put on. Breaks up the white a bit and makes big difference, IMO. 2-Formula decals front and rear bumpers, 3 Firebird symbols on the nose and sail panels--plus the ones you can see. next, new rims! :AH-HA_wink:
  22. Looks nice! Thats not blue...it's burple! eek
  23. yep that will be me as well. I'll always have a fast car
  24. you know they have O/D manual transmisisns right? Think new! :AH-HA_wink:
  25. Wonder how much this will be. Looks great to me! Nothing boy racer at all---clean and tasteful--overtly sporty I suppose. Be a fun car for my daily commute. Hopefully an auto trans is an option.
