  1. I just looked up the Saturn Sky green and it is perfect. That would be exactly what they would want. Do you think GM would paint a Malibu in that colour? They have been loyal GM customers since 1974 so they have specially ordered all of their cars as well. Price is of no option as they don't really care. They would be willing to pay an extra price just to get their car painted that colour. I think it is called Forest Green.
  2. My grandparents are really wanting to buy a new Malibu. However only one thing is holding them back, the colour of the exterior. They want the car in a green with a cashmere interior. They love this 2LT model as well but they want to order it with the V6 and of course, green. GM has never had problems custom ordering their cars but now they do. I was hoping for them to be able to get this but GM really has no green colours any more. They would prefer a dark green but they didn't mind the Saturn Hybrid greens. I can't remember if the Aura came in a green but if it did I wouldn't see why they couldn't paint it that since they are built at the same location/ same platform. Personally, the 2LT model would be my choice with the 3.6L and it would be black on black. The black really works and it brings out the chrome accents. Good luck on your find. Our dealers around here are always sold out.
  3. One spot is the balance weight and the others are shadows. It wasn't a sunny day out at the time as it was just about to snow.
  4. I just bought this 1990 Buick Reatta for $700 and I was planning to use it for parts. However it only took a new battery to get it working great so I decided I will drive it and restore it. The body is pretty good on the car but the interior is a mess. However, I have a whole new interior waiting for it. It is a fully loaded coupe with 16-way seats and the moonroof but the only option it doesn't have it the CD player.
  5. Unfortunately I never got to the plans I had for it. However now I may get to it once my applications are in for college/university, etc. I was planning on making a newsletter for it but I delayed it because it didn't work out. However, now my friend is introducing me to a program called InDesign which provides layouts, etc. for newsletters, magazines. I will probably have that by mid-next year once I have gotten high school past me. I will be able to feature some stuff from the Detroit Auto SHow as I may attend the Autoweek Design Forum this year as well.
  6. Problems with these were definitely not unheard of with these cars. If you saw the one on Ebay, it had a few issues mainly with the passenger door. The door just wouldn't open apparently. Whoever bought it forked out quite a bit of money despite these problems with the doors and 120k miles, it sold for $14k I believe.
  7. I can't believe they made more than one of these Lincolns. Jatech built them for Ford in the early 90s and the idea was patented for Ford to use it. One of these Lincolns just sold on ebay. The ad said it was a one-off but I guess not. Interesting idea though.
  8. In miles that is about 190k miles probably with a new transmission even. It is fairly hard to come by another low mileage car. Low mileage isn't always good though. Sometimes that can mean they have sat for years or so. The larger mileage cars that have been highway driven are equally as good. Don't let mileage scare you because sometimes it means something. I have seen many cars coming into my work that have pushed 500k kms and they are still in excellent shape. If a 23 year old car has 100k miles, obviously it has sat for a bit or just been city driven which is stop and go. Just take that into thought when buying another car.
  9. If I could I would definitely save BVs Beast. It is way too nice to be junked. I have only seen the pictures of it but I missed all the details before.
  10. If I had the time I would take it. My dad and I travel all over and Pennsylvania isn't too far.
  11. I know of a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP Supercharged for sale for $2000 CAN. It is in excellent condition with no rust, leather is good, engine is good even at 290k kms which is nothing for the Series II. The Supercharger was rebuilt apparently as well.
  12. Sell this car to somebody instead of destroying it. It looks to be in pretty solid shape. Does it have the 3.8L in it? These cars are awesome to put a GN drivetrain in tho. Same car, just looks more unsuspecting. Best cars out there are the Buicks. They may not be cool, but they are usually driven by older folks who take such good care of the cars. They may not look cool at first but once they keep on going and don't leave you stranded, they are pretty cool. With my experience, the 3800s seem to be pretty bulletproof. My Reatta sat for 4 years and drove 70 kilometres without the oil being changed. The car has 156k miles but still runs excellent. My Lesabre runs excellent too except the fact that the transmission is extremely sluggish on it.
  13. The door mounted seat belts aren't bad but if you are tired and just want to get out, sometimes you forget to undo the seatbelt before opening the door and it ends up strangling you. These cars are so nice to drive tho. They get as much attention as a GN would. Mainly because people think it is a GN. I have had my Lesabre T at a few shows and everybody is curious at to what it is.
  14. Another T-Type enthusisast that I meet regularily bought this. He has to drive it up from Florida to Ontario in the spring but for now it is staying at his Florida house. He already has a 1987 T as well but he bought this one too.
  15. The Aztek is such an ugly vehicle but from their drivers, I have heard nothing but good stories. I have helped maybe 4 Aztek drivers get minor parts for their vehicles in a year. With the GM pickups and vans I see them about 20 times a day. One guy came in with an Aztek club shirt too. Apparently, the whole Aztek club was on a roadtrip and decided to use our parking lot to stop and rest. There were about 25 Azteks and it was kind of funny.
  16. Lesabre T-Types rock lol. I love mine and it has such a nice ride. I have my eyes set on a 1986 Lesabre Grand National as well. That was the edition that they only made 117 and 112 were sold to the public. Has a random car showcase been done on the Lesabre GN yet?
  17. Time to get the Lesabre out. I am definitely going to submit my Lesabre but my Reatta is staying in the garage as the battery is dead. I may try to find a picture of both of them together but otherwise I will take my Lesabre out and get some scenic pictures.
  18. I saw these two and they were absolutely beautiful. I didn't have my camera on me at the time but it is an interesting collection he has. it was cool seeing them with an older Rolls Royce too. The are in a heated car storage unit and only drive several times a year to keep them running and do regular maintenance. I didn't bring my camera because I was buying the Reatta. Next time I go down to visit I will get pictures though.
  19. I was just wondering if anybody knows approximately what the 1999 Riviera Silver Arrows go for. I never see any up for sale and I know somebody who was wondering how much they go for generally. He actually has two of them in storage in mint condition. I think they are both under 40k miles. Anybody know how much they would be worth? The price guides tell me nothing. Thanks.
  20. That is absolutely disgusting and crooked. I work at Canadian Tire in the parts department but I look into the shop all of the time there. This never happens. I sign parts out even to go to the mechanics and they don't come back. Our shop does all work that is charged. I don't know if this can apply to just Jiffy Lubes or any mechanic. Our news station did the same things but with GM Goodwrench technicians a few years back and it was the same thing. I don't know if this is just lack of courtesy for customers in larger volume cities where they get more customers or not. Everything I see in our shop was payed for and all was done. If something else is needed as well we always show the customer. That budget system also disturbs me. They have that budget per customer? Yet they also have the signs outside saying $19.99 for the lube service. That is really awful of Jiffy Lube to create that system if it is true. I have never seen anything like that and would rather not. Luckily unlike some customers, I always get my car fixed when I am working. That way they can get in touch with me if anything happens or they need to do something else. Plus I can also keep an eye on them every once in a while to see that my work is being done. That doesn't mean I don't trust them but after seeing stuff like this it makes you wonder.
  21. Sounds cool. I didn't get a chance to buy one last year but I didn't have cars that could be in it too lol. I am looking forward to seeing this. My co-worker had his truck featured in a calendar, it was the coolest thing. He has a 1935 Ford Pickup in mint condition, no blemishes or anything and it was down to the nuts and bolt restoration. Took him 30 years but it was well worth it.
  22. Thanks. I love my cars and treat them that way. You love a car more when you work for it, fix it up yourself and just don't get it handed to you. I love my Buicks and they are unique so I get looks in either one when I drive. I compared my Reatta today with a customer of mine. He has a 1990 Trofeo with everything in it. It is a beautiful car but he is planning on getting rid of it for an Enclave.
  23. Unfortunately they are both staying as stock as I can get them. If I had to choose though, the Reatta would be excellent as a RWD vehicle.
  24. It is extra storage under the covers in behind the seats. The Reatta is actually very roomy and has a trunk larger than most cars out now behind this little area.
  25. I finally took pictures today of the Reatta with my T-Type. Both still need work but I love them. THey are bith cosmetic repairs needed now. Here are the pics. Sorry about all the pictures but I couldn't pick just the best ones. The first picture is my T-Type in its first car show. I got there kind of early but I parked beside that nice Bel Air there. All of those papers across the dash are the documentation from GM, brochures, etc. Its not garbage like how some people just leave them on the dash. When it comes to my cars, I am a neat freak. Enjoy the pictures and I am enjoying the Reatta. It has been the best handling car I have ever been in in my whole life and that includes a few Vettes and Mustangs but this handles far better. The rear air suspension is even in good condition and it was just filled.
