  1. The T-Type is rough but I planned to repair it. There is some rust but I would plan to cover it up. I would want it for a lot cheaper anyways. The Firebird seems a little odd to me. The guy sent me a reply from my email to him and he told me where the car is but he said it was always left unlocked. That is kind of weird.
  2. I just looked on the Toronto Craigslist and Toronto Kijiji and I found 2 interesting cars. One, a 1987 Pontiac Firebird Formula and a 1989 Buick Lesabre T-Type. Both equal in price and both need body work and some other work. Firebird needs interior work and the Lesabre needs brake work. The seats would eventually need to be reupholstered since the leather shows its age but isn't ripped. WHat do you think? I really love the Lesabre T-Type but would it be worth restoring in the long run? Here are the links to the listings. 1989 Lesabre T-Type 1987 Firebird Formula
  3. I immediately fell in love with this on EBAY. It isn't good shape but it is wearing 427 badges. I couldn't find any place to decode the VIN to find out if it was original. 68 Caprice Wagon 427?? And this which I had never heard of before. 92 Lumina Z34 Earnhardt Edition #23 of 25
  4. That is nice. Those gauges are sweet too. Some other gauges I like are the ones in the 66 Charger but I don't know what they look like all lit up.
  5. There is a website with tips, etc on how to perform this swap. The guy who made the website also lives within a half an hour of me and he has recommended some places for parts, etc. I just didn't know whether or not this was unibody yet since many sports cars like the Corvette are BOF. For some reason I just didn't know when exactly the Northstars started however I knew it wasn't this early. I have just been told a bit that these were revised into the Northstars. A couple people who have come into my work have mentioned that they were Northstars and that confused me. The wiring instructions are available on the website as well as diagrams. Fiero V8
  6. I know somebody with a 350 Fiero. They are planning to help me on a project so this would be easier. However, I would rather go with the 4.5 or 4.9.
  7. I have a couple of questions as I have gained insight on how to put a V8 in a Fiero without having to cut the frame. First off, the engine is a 4.9L Cadillac V8 from an 88-94 Cadillac FWD. How relaible are these engines? Also were they considered Northstar or was that the 4.5L? Something I can't quite remember is if the Fiero 2M4 is unibody or is it body on frame? I will be getting the Fiero from the junkyard if this works out. I want to know because they will be quite rusty and the panels and underbody will need to be done. The 4.9L is from an 89 Deville that I am looking at. It is about $900 at a local dealer but they would take less. The body is really rusty but the engine is good working condition. It has 190,000kms and the tranny is good as well. The engine from the junkyard itself is the same price so it makes more sense to buy the whole car. There are 2 vehicles that I could chose from. There was a 93 Sixty Special for sale and this Deville. The Sixty Special is more money and has more kms. This will be parted out after so I didn't want to do that to a Sixty Special. The Deville's interior is mint and the body is worthy for some parts. I can get some money back for the project from this as well. I will be planning to do this as a father-son project and eventually will get it down to Woodward. After I have a little fun with it I plan that I would sell it to earn money for college. The conversion isn't the most expensive and Fieros in this area seem to go for at least $2500 in unrestored condition. What do you think? This will be more unique than the Dakota which I want something unique in the first place. Also on another note. While I was away for Easter, I found a vehicle that I never knew my family owned. It was sitting in my relative's garage. I was putting away some hockey equipment and I open their garage and what do I see. A 1970 Chevrolet C10. It had a custom paint job. Bluish or a purple. Sad thing was, the engine wasn't in it and the engine compartment was being used as a garbage can and it was filled. The interior was also filled with garbage but was good condition. There was also no rust in the pickup. The bed was also filled with their garbage. Sad thing is, I don't know when this can get an engine in it. The owner, my mom's cousin is hung over every day literally. He never knows anything and is going brain dead. We can't even get to stop him. It is his baby but he is too drunk to finish it. Meanwhile he is going around wrecking his Sunfire. So maybe it is a good thing he isn't driving the C10. I was so distraught by this sight because all the chrome was in tact and mint as well. It was an interesting find and maybe we can persuade him to finish it.
  8. That commercial is really weird and it has really no point. Some commercials I like are the 07 season Blue Jays commercials and the new Subway ad where they are in the drive-thru and they are ordering things like blubber, thunder thighs, etc.
  9. I was sad when I heard about it too. It was great and featured great articles. Each issue never seized to amaze me. The collection of those magazines will probably be worth a little bit in the future since it didn't run very long.
  10. If you are going to get the truck painted then couldn't you get the grille painted as well? Those taillamps are really nice. LEDs are great.
  11. I really like the Groove because it is unique and you can tell it is a Chevy. I also like the Beat however, it looks too European like a Peugeot or the Toyota Aygo. The interior is amazing though. The Groove with the Beat interior would persuade me to buy one right away.
  12. That was great. Alanis Morisette is great.
  13. That was great. Jeep Comanches are sweet trucks and they look so nice.
  14. The_Yellow_Dart, Orangeville is not that small. Most people do drive to the convenience store or grocery store more because of laziness though. You can walk to places but it may take a while. My school was an hour walk from my house and it was on the same side of town. I see what you are saying though. People have to drive to Square One, etc. to shop or elsewhere to work.
  15. Good luck getting it. Once you make progress on your S10 post pics. I will do the same as well as I have found a project to my liking. A Fiero, non-GT body style, with a 4.9l V8 from a Cadillac Fleetwood. Both cars are at the yard and they would be cheap. An internet site also features step by step instructions on how to install them and everything. They will fit in the Fiero engine compartment as well with a few relocations for some engine accessories, custom exhaust work, cradle modifications, etc. That colour should look good on it.
  16. I have lived here in Orangeville all of my life. Parents moved down from North Bay to live in a small town that was quiet. However, it has grown a lot. Population close to 30,000 people and every restaurant and store possible has come here almost. Now we have a Best Western and everything. However, like Yellow_dart said, this town will fall apart. Probably about 50% of the community commutes to Toronto. Once a gas crisis happens, most people will lose their jobs unless they work here. However, the jobs aren't as big here.
  17. The Eldorado has since moved. The guy decided because it got warm earlier to begin restoring it. I did meet him in Canadian Tire and he was a nice guy. He told me what needed to be done but he was restoring it to full 1968 spec. I have been thinking about what I saw at the junkyard. I am thinking a 3.8L or something else in a Pontiac Fiero. They had some supercharged 3800s there. One Park Avenue had 400,000 kms on it.
  18. I have pass on this one anyways. They would have sold it to me but somebody else already has bought it. The reason the car was there was a thrown camshaft. At least I know it won't be crushed. They did say a lot of those cars could be sold. I was eyeing a 1997 Eldorado ETC for less than $500. The Northstar wasn't any good anymore and the rear bumper had already been taken off. I was thinking of maybe a Caprice or something later on. They also have about 10 Fieros there, 5 Regals, a couple of Park Avenues and a few Caprices. They did say they see Omegas fairly often. This was their first one in about 5 months though. They have great prices and I know the owner who is my friend's dad so he has gotten me good deals. I got 3 Impala SS hubcaps - 1967 or so from them for free. I also grabbed one from an Oldmobile 70s and a Chrysler Park Avenue. They have plenty 60s and 70s hubcaps. I cleaned up the hubcaps and polished them. There are pretty rusty but you can tell they are original. I will check up often and see what I could get there. Most cars are parted out a little bit but the Omega wasn't touched. There were also a few Chevy pickups there.
  19. I think the same too. I am going to see what I can do about it today. I believe the guy told me an older lady did bring it there because it was her husband's but he passed away and she was going on 80 or so and she said her licence would be gone in a couple of months.
  20. I just found a 1980-84 Oldsmobile Omega Brougham Coupe at the wrecking yard. The car is beautiful with its tan paint that is only chipped. There is absolutely no rust on the body. Every single piece of chrome trim that should be there is there. It is clean and has all original wheel cover all matching. The best part is, the interior. It is a darker brown. The cloth seats are mint with no rips and the dash is the same. No paint faded and every chrome piece is in the interior. The wood trim is all there and not scratched nor pieces missing. It also has the bucket seats and it may have the V6. The interior was vacuumed and cleaned before it was brought to the junkyard as was the exterior. Now the problem, it is an X-car and these engines they put into them sucked. My grandparents' Phoenix leaked oil, tranny fluid, coolant, and it overheated a lot. However, it lasted them almost 20 years. If I cannot acquire a title, I could buy it as a project if the engine is taken out. WHat would be a better engine to replace the original? I was thinking maybe a 3.1L but give me suggestions. And yes I know I have the taste of a 70 year old whilst looking at this but it was driven since new by a 70 year old. What other problems did this car have?
  21. That Eldorado Windhawk or whatever was ugly. Why would they do that. The 6 wheel Ram was sweet though.
  22. This looks nice. Would this be an Aveo replacement because the Aveo is too boring.
  23. I think it is awkward but I still love it. If you do background search on the builder's name, he is the guy who created 50/50 antifreeze/coolant, Clenet and Sceptre vehicles and is an important member of a company who is building the world's largest ferris wheels around the world.
  24. This car looks exactly like our old Concorde before the transformation. Camino, I don't know how much you will like this but I love it. The C pillar and window setup looks like the Holdens. This car is nice, minus the ugly rims, oddly placed Buick portholes on a Chrysler, and what I think is a hood scoop. Anyways you have your opinion. But if I still had our old Concorde, I would be taking a Chopsaw to it as well. I love it. Here is the link for the pics. El Concorde
